So many fantastic tracks with this purchase. A lot of them are reminiscent of not only the classic Sonic games but also retro games in general. Definitely worth $7.

This is a truly unique OST.

Freedom Planet doesn't go the same, easy way for simple chiptunes that are industry standard. From the hands of Woofle, music provided for game's levels are something that you won't notice in other games. There are several points of interest you can bring up describing it. For one, game's China-esque esthetic is definitely hearable in the soundtrack, but it mixes it with "modern" 90s electronic and rock twists. References to games of the old are also present, but they refer to the era less clearly remembered by gamers: 2D games of Sega Saturn and PS One.

Remember Sonic Adventure's tunes? MegaMan X4? NiGHTs into Dreams? Gunstar Heroes. While FP's OST isn't a clear mix of those examples, it gives you a clear image to what to expect. Melodies aren't as catchy as in other retro-inspired games. You won't be caught by the heath from the first few seconds of the first songs, but the unique, soft and delicate tunes will definitely win you over, during the whole adventure.

Again, the ride is worth the asking price. Bought this OST within the heartbeat and I don't regret any cent on it. Surprising game and one-of-the-kind soundtrack in the mix.

I had troubles finding it when I bought this product. If you have an issue with it do the following steps:

Go to the top left options by clicking "Steam" above "Store", then go to settings and choose music. It may display the steam games music folders, use then the indexation option to make the content appear in your music steam music library.

Oh my god this soundtrack is amazing. Every track in this game feels so well done. And one of the best parts of buying this is the fact that there are beta soundtracks of some of the stages which is amazing honestly. Its nice hearing what the beta tracks were like before getting the finishing touches on them. Each track to me fits whats going on with the world and in todays world i feel like thats hard to do. I hope if you have the spare money that you get this. And if you wanna wait for a sale because even then waiting for one is worth the wait. You are getting over 60 tracks for 6.99 which is honestly worth the price. But you can decide if you wanna wait for a sale or get it now its worth it either way.

Mini reveiw.
By Ace the dark wolf.

I havn't bought a game soundtrack until i picked this up and i am glad i did.

With over 3 hours of music(some not even in the game.)ranging from good to godly to freedom night 1.

I highly recomend picking this up if you enjoyed listening to it in game especially with the value.(£5 for 3 hours worth of music of this quality, what a steal.)

I give the freedom planet soundtrack 4.7/5.

Generally, it's good in its on way since music is subjective and can't be judged, only to be classified.

Atmosphere: Aethereal/Life giving.
Genre: Electronic, Classical Action, Synthrock, New Age.
Suiting the Game: 8/10

Compared to other styles of video game music, these are quite lite, not heavy or complex, but they are more ethereal/other-worldly sounding. Another good thing is that they have enough melodies and ambients for carrying on the mood of the tune.

I like it, and made a playlist of it, but they're not to be mixed with other playlists cause others are quite heavy, dubstep-ish and groovish.

If you liked what you have heard in-game then there is no reason not to pick this up. Buy this now. No no no... forget what I just said. Buy 3 copies. One for your pc, one for your phone, and one for the road. Oh, did you say something about coping files to your phone and what not? *slaps face* I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK! JUST DO IT! (Seriously, 72 songs for 7 bucks while something like iTunes charge you about a dollar for one song is a steal. Or you can just buy this on bandcamp $10 if you so desire, yeah, that's good too).

Also you just can't skip those extras in this sountrack, all these beta soundtracks and thank-you music Woofie has made. Seriously if you bought FP then you just MUST buy the soundtrack!

72 songs, all of which are absolutely amazing!

At full price, you're getting it for less than 10 cents a song. If it ever goes on sale, there should be no hesitation to buy it instantly.

This game looked good, but I didn't expect much. It blew me away, and this soundtrack did the same. The heck does someone make 72 songs so amazing?

Before reading, please consider this:
I would wholeheartedly recommend this soundtrack if they fixed the misleading discription. This soundtrack was one of the main reasons I decided to purchase the game in the first place and I think they did an excellent job on it.

ALSO:
If you don't understand what I mean by "audio quality" and "kbps" then you should look it up and enlighten yourself, don't down-vote this review for helpfulness because this isn't about opinion.

Now here is the problem:
The description says that the soundtrack includes "every song in the game at 320kbps CD quality."

These are all the songs that do not meet the advertised quality of "320kbps"

Target World (Shang Mu Academy) -----128kbps
Up the Creek (Jade Creek 1) -----256kbps
Up the Sub (Jade Creek 2) -----256kbps
Pangu Lagoon 1 (English) -----128kbps
Pangu Lagoon 1 (Japanese) -----128kbps
Time Attack -----128kbps
Relic Maze (Extended Mix) -----256kbps
Freedom Planet Theme (Orchestral Remix) -----128kbps
Beta Dragon Valley 1 -----128kbps
Beta Minor Boss Battle -----128kbps
Beta Speed Powerup -----128kbps
Beta Title -----128kbps

The information I am presenting you is FACT. These values were obtained from opening the sound files and reading the detected audio quality. The reason I have zero hours of playtime is simply because I use a different music player than the one on Steam.

If they say this album is 320kbps, then ALL of the songs in it must be at least 320kbps. I will change my review to "recommended" as soon as either the sound quality or discription is fixed.

P.S. If you want a better quality version, you can get it on Bandcamp for a few dollars more.

This game was amazing from start to finish and tough as well i must say i have not had a challenge where i felt it was my fault for dying and not the games in quite some time. I would give this game an 8.5 mainly cause the last boss was tough and that almost made me rage quit but the checkpoint system saved it plus you can play as multiple characters it has collectible plus it tracks your time and how many times you died so you can compare with friends this is old school done right

Ever wonder what it'd be like if a Sonic Fanfic came to life, but instead of being a terrible Fanfic, it was god tier, contained original characters, and had such juicily awesome game mechanics and level design that you could truely begin to believe in love after love? (After love... After love... After love... )

I won't spoil the surprise, but suffice it to say, even without the storylines, the three main playable characters are so perfectly different in play style that each time you play through as a character, it feels like a different game. Some of the bosses that challenged you will be a breeze, some that were a breeze, become major threats. Alternate paths, character exclusive levels, Time challenge modes with special levels just to hone your speed running skills.

Did I mention an epic soundtrack? Cause yeah, they got you covered. It's not just good era style music. It's plain out, good music.

The only flaw some people have is subjective: Some people can't stand the voice acting. I for one, after playing through the game twice on adventure mode, feel that the voice acting fits each character perfectly: Even if the characters themselves may sound annoying, or even silly in some cases... it usually comes through as intended.

The one voice I will say is truely excellent, is that of the main Antagonist, and with some of his taunting near the end, I grew to love and hate hearing his voice over the intercom just as much as I loved and hated Handsome Jack.

Buy this game. Buy it for your friends. Buy it for your enemies to turn them into your friends. Buy extra copies on humble bundle just to have it DRM Free. Make sure these Devs know that they did an awesome job.

Disclosure: I didn't buy this, it was a gift from a good friend.

That said, I recommend this owo..it's easily one of the best game soundtracks I've heard and I find myself going back to it over and over. The composer for Freedom Planet did a bang up job!

For anyone confused on where to find the soundtrack, it's in your game's root folder. I didn't know where it was till i've done some digging. Hopefully this will help someone else who buys this and has no idea where it installed.
