Why Early Access?

“Because we want to make a very fun game for the gamers, we need their ideas and feedback. Because Steam is the biggest distribution platform on the internet it was our goal to launch the game on Steam. On Steam we know we can get the best feedback to make our game LEGENDARY. Also this game so far is made with a 0€ budget and because graphics cost money and sadly can't do them myself we need a budget, because some Kickstarter projects ended up being a disaster we're already giving you early access to our game including Steam achievements and trading cards to collect.

During each update we will put up new levels with different play styles. According to the feedback of users we will tweak to make them easier or harder (More challenging).”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game is in Early Access to get feedback from the players to give them the experience they want. In most games you're doing the same thing over and over and over. That's something we try to avoid with making Blob From Space. We will use the feedback from players for ingame features, other ways to play the game and new game modes to make the game as challenging as possible. For more details about these features please make sure you read our answer to "How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?" We try to keep the game in Early Access for 6-12 months depending on the support we get from the players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have better graphics and over 100 levels of different challenges. During these challenge you could be either flying/driving a vehicle trying to escape from the evil planet, or walking your way through an upside-down level, dark levels in which you only have a short amount of sight, under water levels in which you don't need to jump, but you need to be carefull for swimming enemies. Also some missions will not just be go from point A to point B, but there will be levels in which you need to collect objects. When you collected all objects you are able to go to the next level with a new challenge. There also will be different settings. Lava levels which are way harder than normal levels and ice levels which can be very untrustfull (With slippery tiles and cracking through ice).

All levels will have a puzzle element. This means you will need the transform powers to get through the level. Most levels are solvable in different ways.

The Blob will also have more powers to use. These powers will be unlocked during the story mode. These powers are slowing down enemies and jumping against walls. There will be over 10 enemies all with their special powers. These powers are needed to solve puzzles in levels. This game will offer you a very fun gaming experience. A game experience in which you can challenge your friends to beat your highscore. We also will add a leaderboards so you can challenge people all around the world to beat your highscore.

This game will even feature local co-op mode in the full version. Play with your friend on the same computer. In these co-op mode you will need to help eachother or play against eachother to get the best score.

During Early Access we will try to put out an update every month or every 2 months with new levels, features and achievements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At this moment we have a "rage" game with over 15 levels (You will need to replay the game a few times to see all the levels) with Steam features like achievements and trading cards. We already implemented the dark levels and the mini-games are already in the game as well.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We can't promise to keep the price the same at launch. This is because we maybe need a bigger team to help making the game better. By expending the team we need a bigger budget.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will listen to all the feedback the gamers have. Sadly we can't use all the feedback, but we will learn alot from it. On the forums people can leave their ideas and we will try to put it in the game. Ideas that we really appreciate are ideas to make the game more challenging and ways to change the style of playing the game.”
