2.0 Beta Update

After a very large make over - the patch has been finished and updated.

I'll go into what's been updated - then what had problems at update - and what still remains to be fixed.

Fixes later this week:

  • Character names in chat, and the notorious chat bug that wont unfocus the chat window (had a last minute ulink reversion and it ate my chat script so I have to pull from backup.

  • GUI action bar will be shrunk along with stat trackers.

  • Crafting window and equipment windows will be scalable (marker will be put top right of those two windows and they will be drag scalable).

  • The anvil / crafting button will be fixed (it wont disappear if u disable the menu gui in interface options.

What has been changed -

  • All transactions have been switched from a local based inventory interface to an orthographic camera based interface with server side transactions. This should resolve most duplication problems even with Mods but I'm sure someone will be inventive enough to figure one out or do some custom rpc's... at which point i'll have to encrypt them but.. We'll cross that boat later as encryption would lag traffic.

  • Almost all functionality was removed from the old inventory system and put into the new rebuilt gui and a full craft window was made that is a little more user friendly.

  • A player model was added to the equipment list along with some stats to give a bit more info on what your char looks like.

  • All in all over 25000 lines of code was squashed into what ended up being 11000 or so over the past 5 weeks. Please let us know what you find out bug wise and put it into the new bugs forum section so we can mop those up and get to putting building damage and catapults/bow pvp damage.

  • Death is now also not as horribly taxing - one random inventory slot will drop as a bag on the ground for 5 minutes. This may or may not get more brutal at a later time. For now it seemed appropriate (somewhat similar to everquest 1 loss of one item on pvp death).

Patch 1.08 Major Graphic Improvements! New Task System!

Patch 1.08 - Sept 20th

Great patch for you guys! New camera effects have been implemented as well as the first phase of the divine favor task system. Below is a list of the major changes, thanks for your support!

Changes and Additions

  • Major additions to camera, lighting, and skies. The finishing touches have been applied to the players camera and scene lighting(yes a last minute change was made to make nighttime alittle less dark). This will add a pretty drastic difference in the overall appeal of our graphics coupled with the recent land overhaul.
  • The first phase of our task system has been implemented, the current text and black see through box in the upper left corner is the placeholder graphic until a complete overhaul to our gui system.
  • Tasks repopulate based on time running out or completion of tasks. You will always have three current running tasks to complete if you so desire. These tasks reward divine favor allowing for another route to increase your recipe knowledge(divine favor is going to come center stage for player progression in the following weeks).
  • The dragon will now deaggro as expected.
  • The dragon now chases his victims slower and does less damage.
  • All npc's have had their movement speed reduced, this is tied into the change made to player speed. Player speed was also reduced, rotation speed will be reduced in the next patch. This is to allow PvP a more fluid feel when trying to hit someone.

About This Game

Forsaken Uprising a new MMFPSG (Multiplayer Medieval First Person Survival Game). The game centers on a wide variety of craftable goods and building components that vary in strength and usability. The combat system is very fast paced with a 3 tier stat system based on stamina, strength, and health. The player can literally run until they fall dead of exhaustion. Digital Homicides developers wanted to create a game that combined all the elements of games we enjoyed since there wasn't anything in the market that was giving exactly what we craved. You will have to build your castle, grow crops, and keep your livestock alive so that you can defend yourself from other players or for the brave venture out and lay siege with catapults and take others riches for your own. The following list will be Key implemented features in our release weeks from now.

1. First Person Multiplayer Perspective
2. Piece by Piece castle construction system(including a spike wall to hang the corpses of your vanquished foes on)
3. In depth crafting system
4. Fast paced aim required melee/ranged combat system
5. Stamina/strength/hp stat system to make in combat decisions matter. When stamina empties strength substitutes, lowering strength results in less damage dealt. If strength empties hp substitutes meaning you can actually kill yourself from exertion. The gameplay depth this will provide to combat will be awesome.
6. Catapults to blast open enemy castles and pillage their chests
7. In depth farming system tied into livestock(captured cows will produce manure needed for growing crops and as a fuel source for creating top tier equipment.
8 Farm plots and animal pens are placed the same as the castle system, design your castle how you want. Protect your crops and animals with a layer of stone walls to protect them while your offline.
9. Many more features planned including a feudal system tied into an overland map, where each server is its own hamlet, the ruler of multiple servers"hamlet" will own a "county", the ruler of multiple counties will own that province, all the way up to who is king of the game. The intent is to bring RTS strategy into a First Person perspective. Many more features to come.

Do not buy this game the develpoers are scumbags they banned me from the forums for no reason what so ever you can buy this piece of ♥♥♥♥ game for 2$ on indiegala its full of bugs and its really not worth the money the devs try to blame the trolls for the lack of sales and apprently dont have much money to finish the game it will be another one of those games that will never be finished reminds me of that game a new reckoning! Stay well clear!

the reason you will not find anything bad about this game on the forums is because they are quick to ban everyone i didnt even say anything bad about the game just i was glad i didnt pay 25$ for it when i could buy it for 2$ then BAN! just take a look at the reviews they speak for themselfs!

Felt like I should put in my 2 cents at this point since this last patch was such a huge effort. I've been watching the game since mid September when it went through some rough times. It doesn't even look like the same game from the original images. The new gui is definitely better looking but I would hope that even more options are put in to resize things to make it a bit more comfortable. Would also like to see the container single click put back in for stacking things you pick up, it made things easier than how it is now.

Hope this gets more support - I'd like to see where it goes. Tons of potential.

Would also like to say that there has been some negativity thrown at these guys and I really do wonder where it comes from. I've seen some pretty bad negative remarks disappear. But the bug section has tons in it so I'm not sure what they were hiding?

The best thing of all though, the crash bug is apparently gone. Definitely a good thing!

I have been playing games long enough (since the late 70s) and have played many horrible games. Even for early access this game is just rotten so far. I wonder if they even have a graphic artist. The game looks abd runs terrible. The combat system is worse than clunky. I will try again in a month or so to see if anything has come of this but for now. Peee ewwwww.. I dont know the developers nor care who they are but a word of advice... Get some help and fix this or scrap it and go back to flipping burgers. At this point your game blows and I will go back to RUST which at least looks much cleaner and runs mucj better. Leave the cartoonie crap to Minecraft...

Let me tell you a little story before I explain what I like.

I spawn for the first time playing on a hill over looking an NPC village. As I explored my inventory, I found a club! I quickly equipped it, and just in time too!!

Some strange naked (sexless as this is a pg game) man had appeared behind me, so I promptly hit him in the head with my club. Then I ran down the hill to visit the village I found. On the way, I happened to notice I too was naked. So I was hopeful that this nice village would offer me some cloths and an idea on what to do next.

I was approached by a NPC knight, who tried to kill me?!?! Talk about unreasonable, not to let a naked club wielding person into your village. Talk about rude, so I ran past him and further in, hoping to find a helpful hand. But I was met with attacks instead. Everyone in the village was now chasing this naked club holding guy around. I tried to lose them by running around a cow, but it wasn't enough to get away.

10/10 will streak through village again!

Now for the real review. The game is fun and very easy to pickup and figure out without having to deal with 15 minutes plus of boring tutorials.

Beyond that, this game has some great ideas going on here. Build your own castle, make siege equipment, and lay waste to your neighbor's place. There are quests, to do beyond just building. Plus blue prints to unlock for stronger equipment.

All I can say, is remember, this isn't a finished game, there will be bugs, but if you want to help support a game that is well worth it, and you're ready to have fun, even with bugs, then this game is for you!

Hello all!

I've had a lot of fun with this game so far! It deff has some bugs but its alpha and I'm sure they will be worked out, I've noticed the controls seem to be a little different when it comes to moving items in and out of your inventory and into a campfire/forge so at first that is a little frustrating but once you get use to the way it wants you to do that kind of stuff the game pops out and shines in its own ways.

One way this game differentiates it self from the other build / craft / survival games is its point system for learning new blueprints, it gives you quests you must complete for more points in order for you to gain the skills that you need to craft better stuff!

In my encounters I have only found one person that was not friendly, so that's kind of a plus if your coming from a game like rust ware a guy with a rifle will kill you for your epic loot consisting of a rock and some wood.

In short, this is already a game you can get your moneys worth out of especially if you get it on sale like it is right now for $11. Don't get frustrated right away if your having trouble moving things around in you inventory because once you get the hang of it, its well worth it!

Thanks Dev's and i look forward to the future of this game!

So far this game has been pretty fun. Some bugs here and there but glad to see the dev continually putting out patches. I think the game is a lot better than people are giving it credit for. Its still in early access, which I don't think people understand that. If you go back and look at wow when it first came out, it is nothing like it is today. I know this game is only going to get better with time. Looking forward to seeing more in the future!

I'm disgusted by the devs, i really wanted to like the game long ago but i couldn't because any time i was building something i was going to loose it! The bug this game has is horrible, but i went over it and didn't complain, i waited for few updates to come and then in the community i asked if the game solved that bug explaining that i don't want to loose all my stuff for the 9th time, THEY BANNED ME PERMANENTLY FOR THIS SAYING THAT I'M TROLLING! THIS IS RIDICOLOUS! THE GAME IS UNPLAYABLE AND THE DEVS ARE ACID AND CRAZY IN THE HEAD, I WASTED 20 BUCKS WITH NOTHING, THAT'S HORRENDOUS, THIS GAME IS HORRENDOUS!

Devs are doing ridicolous moves with gamers, they don't really know how to deal with our world.

With over 44 hours in game i have a fairly good grasp on the state of the game. There is an east, west and european server list. 4 servers per. You will never see more than 5 people spread across the servers trying to find one that works. Memory leaks are rampant, you can build a two story castle log for 2 minutes return and notice whole sections missing. Wanna raid your neighbors castle? No problem just log out next to his outside wall log in and before the game can draw anything (5 seconds) simply walk forward a few steps and his castle will eventually build around you. The list of things not working with the game is truly to long to list. If you enjoy building castles only to see parts of them magically disapear, doors that dont open, or walls you place suddenly flip sideways then this is the game for you. Well i made it over 137 hours played of some of the worst gameing garbage i have ever seen. In my defence at wasting 137 hours on this i had an operation that kept me at home for several weeks. The game is garbage in every way and when you speak to them you realize its a "its my dream and its gunna work even if nobody plays it situation". trust me save your 20 bucks even watching Oprah would be better than this mess. But even with most of the bugs remaining they did add a Dragon. ROTFLMAO

The game just looks and feels sloppy. The combat is laughable. Dropping all items when you die does not make it "hardcore" it just makes it annoying and grindy.

A lot of free codes were given out, this is most likely why. The only thing this game has going for it (over other similar types of games) is it is still in Early Access. Which means they can scrap the entire system and start over, because that is what would be needed. Bulky, Clunky, and Goofy are all words id use to describe the game.

If you're paying for this game, caveat emptor! This is not hate or bashing. I have no ill will against the developers. It is just a bad game, so far.

Once this title is released I'll revisit it. (currently the developers are taking negative reviews and feed back personal)

I was totalty turn off by the fact, that anyone who makes any negative comments about the game get their comments deleted. (obviously not on this steam review since they can't remove theses reviews)
I wanted to warn others to stay clear from this game, solely because of the unprofessional and rude Developer team.
Please read the reviews before even thinking of getting this game, and you can clearly see the Developer responding to reviews ( in a rude matter), clearly unable to handle criticism.

I gave the game a whrool, for a little while and just didn't want to play anymore.
This game looks as if its was some beta 14 years old. It looks horrific. They shouldn't be charging people for this game, or at least not $20. This game looks like the type of game that would cost like 500 microsoft points on a xbox live marketplace, thats how low qauilty this game is. As I was playing the game, I was cliping throgh a whole bunch of stuff, I clipped through stairs, trees, etc. Not only was I walking through things, so were the enemy AIs, one Ai just ran through this wooden thing and just owned me.

Everything just looks unattartive, and doesn't feel like a finished game. (i know its early access, but as i was reading the Developer's comment about the game, stating this game is going be a finish product in just about two months, and the main things that are going to change is slighty better graphics, ( and some other things)
This game looks like it needs a ♥♥♥♥ton more time than just two or so months.

Man the first time I joined it I appeared to be unarmed, and instantly got chased down by a few AI and got slaughtered.

My play time is low, cause the game looks unattartive, (bearly even close to finishing in two months, and seems like they just startted this a month ago)I really don't want to play this game because the developer seems to be a ♥♥♥♥ to everyone. I wouldn't want to play a game knowing the community is going to suck.

Its soooo awful, I can't describe it. It feels like im playing some old ♥♥♥ game, made by some guy who half ♥♥♥♥♥ everything, or at least has beraly any experanice whats so ever when it comes to making games. I think he even stated he had no prior experanice before making this game. Just please guys, don't waset your money on this game.

I did give the game another try, I join back in after quitting and as the game was loading it appeared I was getting killed by the AIs. And i was. This game just seems so poorly made. Some games don't need a tutorial, but this one does. Cause it looks so mediocre, there are no players anywhere, and when you hit pause its only suicide option and a quiting option. I have no idea how to play, can't ask anyone in game, cause no one plays the damn thing. Can't figure much out on my own cause it doesn't seem to be as simple as other games. I just don't enjoy this game whats so ever.

P.S I heard they are trying to have another game green lighted on steam, and they BERALY even finish this one. They are just tyring to steal your money, and hide behind the "its an early acess game" they can't guarentee the game will look good at the end or even finish. Thats the whole point of early acess.

Man all theses early acess games poping up is starting to get annoying. Lot people are just doing it to ♥♥♥♥♥ money. I remember a time when early betas were free because the whole point of early acess was to test out their game with a playerbase while still making the game. They would have some thigns like cash shops (good games only sell cosmetic stuff, no pay to win ♥♥♥♥) to support their game, but thats it.
Now they are charging people money for an incomplete game that might not even survive.

Too long didn't read? Well what I have to say is, game looks ugly, looks no where near finish product but they are going to magicly get this game finish in about two months, and the Developer team is very rude to their customers.( I got this game for free, and yet I'm still disappointeded. )

Chivalry and Rust had a baby, and it ain't pretty. If only.. I won't completely bash it, the concept is interesting and has a market I suppose. It's pretty much Rust in the alpha days (with all the bugs attached!), but with a medieval theme to it. Clunky combat, pretty bad and somewhat unintuitive crafting system (more or less direct Rust copy) and cute attempts at creating "castle" themed building modules (walls, pillars, archways) instead of the standard shacks. Nothing special at this moment perhaps, but maybe it'll grow and become something one day.

At this time, I'm afraid it's only a 4/10. Can't really recommend it, sorry.

Unscrupulous developer, do not trust. Developer removes threads with criticism and bans users with legitimate constructive criticism. I was banned for "arguing with moderator" despite there not being an argument or elevated tone even. My criticism was that I had concerns at their ability as a small team to manage creating MP and SP experiences when even large experienced teams know that you have to focus on one then the other. This opinion was in a thread where the OP asked if the game was worth playing. The thread was removed since three people responded that it was not, with supporting, rational evidence. This developer is immature and irresponsible. Trying to remove the evidence of a poorly made and poorly managed game is unforgiveable in a community built on trust.

The game itself has potential but no population, as do many of these PVP/crafting/survival games that have flooded early access recently. The game is built with Unity and mostly generic assets patched together. The single programmer/dev is a bit too cocky in thinking that you can just slap together an MMO in a few months using pre-built resources. This is a student project level game and they are charging way too much without the ability to deliver a stable experience.

Servers are unstable despite twice weekly reports of massive improvements. Walls disappear, inventory moves around or changes completely between logging in and out. A well known chat bug causes a major lag spike but continues unfixed. The servers lag despite populations of under 5 people at any time.

I could list technical problems for another 1000 words, but the bottom line is that there are responsible, dedicated, mature and capable devs out there with similar games. Go buy them instead.

I just paid $20 for a laggier multiplayer version of Stranded with bugs.

There is no suicide option, and I have been stuck in a hole since this game launched.
