The future
It is over a year ago since TFO got on Steam, it received harsh critics mainly because it had PewDiePie references and it was rather hard.
I intended to add more stuff in this update, time is not on my side unfortunately.
The next version of TFO will most likely include the sequel, stay tuned for more.

You play as a man whose parents were murdered during the Holocaust by a madman Nazi doctor, finally seeking revenge on the psychopath who's caused you 20 years of pain and suffering. The game consists of 4 chapters, where you'll discover not only the many victims and their hand-written stories smeered with blood scattered throughout the game, but you will come face-to-face with those that did "survive" the doctor's company, and you will wish very dearly that they hadn't.

Overall, the controls will probably need some adjustments early on, as the key bindings are far from the conventional WASD, etc setup. Brightness settings will need to be optizimed as well, since the entire game is extremely dark. Object interaction and collision can be awkward at times, especially while driving or moving through piles of rubble.

The horror of the game is a combination of both jump-scares and psychological thrill, especially as the tension rises with the unpredictability of flashes or screeches, as well as the enemies tending to ambush and surprise the hell out of you very often. The World War II-era radio and classical music consistently set the atmosphere of the game and immerse you within the past.

The enemies themselves are generally very fast and come at you during the least convenient of times, and if they hit you, you had better hope that you have a med-kit, because the bleeding effect and sheer damage can be very crippling, resulting in a need for constant supply of weapons and ammunition, though the latter can be found in surplus very easily.

Playability: 6/10
Story Quality: 8/10
DifficultyLevel: 7/10
Intensity of Horror: 8/10

Actually scared me. Ignore all of the hate. This is good for a free-2-play title. (Play with lights off)

When I played this the first time it got on Steam it wasn't good at all, I was going to write a Review at the time, but I didn't because I am a Friend with the Developer of this Game/Mod and was afraid I would upset him if he saw my Negative Review, plus knowing the Developer I had the feeling he would Fix & Improve the Mistakes that were common in this Game/Mod.

So I gave it Time and once the Game/Mod got more patches I decided to give it another go (and another chance for that matter), and its pretty safe to say it has gotten alot better since its initial release on Steam, it still has a few Bugs and Issues but its pretty much 90% Playable.

Pros+

+Survival Horror,
+Decent Level design.
+PewdiePie References have been removed.
+Combat feels more polished compared to the first release.

Cons-
-The Story was interesting but a tad bit cheesy
-Dialouge was a bit cheesy aswell
-The Boss battles were way too easy.
-Lots (and I mean LOTs) of backtracking involved.

For now it gets a Solid 7/10 from me.

Intriguing.

Although it was somewhat unclear, I think you play as the son of concentration camp victims with the intent to find these perpetrators. Quite atmospheric.

The Holocaust was obviously (and completely understandably) of great emotional and historical significance to the designers of this game. It is a game I would like to return to when I have more time.
