Update released for the T-38A Talon

An update for MilViz’s T-38A Talon is now live. If you have automatic Steam updates enabled, this update will be downloaded next time you restart the Steam client.

The change list is as follows:

Removes the non-functional GPS key command (Shift + 3) from the aircraft
Updated manual to reflect the new version.

This update is approx. 2MB

An absolute must-have for flight enthusiasts. A modding industry was built around FSX and it is thriving well. This is the benchmark flight simulator that nobody else can compete with. And now that Dovetail has taken the reins, there is no end in sight. Don't let its age fool you or be fooled by competitors. This is THE flight simulator to have......along with the massive amount of addons/mods that make it extraordinary.

This is game for all aviation fans who doesn't have so strong PC to handle games like P3D or X-Plane 10. To be honest when I first played this game I was complete noob and angry because it was realy hard to fly but once when I googled a bit I finded a few nice tutorials and manuals on how to control your aircraft. Later on I got myself VATsim account and started to fly online. It was so fun to play online and for me it changed entire picture of flying.

If you spend a bit of money and get some custom airport details (it wil make airport look great) and other addons your game can look same as P3d or X-Plane 10.

10/10 Would recommend

IN THE LAST MONTH I HAVE PURCHASED AEROSOFT FS2 AND FLIGHTSIM FSX SE AND THEY BOTH LOCK UP WITHIN MINUTES OF OPENING THE GAME. I HAVE AN HI END PC AND LOADS OF MEMORY. STEAM ARE NOT INTERESTED IN ANY COMPLAINTS THEY JUST WANT YOUR HARD EARNED CASH...
I WAS GOING TO PURCHASE PREPAR 3D OR ALL THE ADD ONS FOR FSX SE. BUT I CANNOT TRUST THIS PLATFORM I GOT 2 HRS PLAY FROM FSX AND THATS IT!!!!.
NOT IMPRESSED OR HAPPY WITH THEIR ATTITUDE. SO MY FLIGHTSIM DAYS ARE OVER AFTER 27 YRS.

I originally bought this game a few weeks after launch. After alot of use the discs became so scratched that it was literally unplayable. I was so excited when I found it on steam.

This game is alot of fun if you enjoy simulators. At first it can be difficult to get the hang of. (especially if you dont program your own macros.) I literally had a printout of all the controlls hung under my monitor so I could easily view them.

-Gets into 737 and takes off from JFK
-Gets gear up and retracts flaps
- Starts Autopilot
-Everything is great
1 Hour later
-Heads toward YYZ
-Gets cleared from tower to land
- Extends flaps and gear is down everything looks good
- Disables Autopilot
- Forgets about auto-Throttle
- Plane can't decend much
- I start panicking and and pulls up
- Plane goes inverted
- Plane crashes into highway

I have over 3500 hours flying experience on Microsoft Flight Simulator X, most of it on the old Classic/Boxed edition. Not surprisingly, I recommend it, and it's good to see a new generation of pilots coming through with this Steam edition.

But it's not for everyone. If you want a storyline, either a basic narrative or one that's supplemented with downloadable content, it's not for you. If the words "open-world" and "sandbox" send you running, it's not for you. If you don't want to create your own goals and activities, it's not for you.

But if you like exploring both your own imagination and the 200 million square miles we call "Home", you couldn't wish for better. If you like perfecting your abilities and maybe even developing them into real-world skills, you could do worse than try it out. Or if you just enjoy socializing with other flying enthusiasts, you'll find there's a whole bunch of active communities out there that use Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

How people can say that Xplane 10 is better is beyond me. Yes i have non steam add ons for both scenery wise and there is no comparison in my oppinion. Fsx is the clear winner here even if it is old now. Trust me when i say Fsx is the ultimate flying experience. I've tried with Xplane but it's nowhere near.

My Computer: Dell Inspiron 15R

- I can normally run FSX at 40 fps just fine when I have my laptop plugged in, on a cooling fan and running a second screen. I use the Saitek x52 Pro split joystick set and it works great. I would not recommend FSX on a laptop like mine but if that is all that you have then you can get by with it. If you have an iPad like me they are a great kneeboard that you can use for airport charts.

Really fun game, wouldn't call it a serious sim unless you are playing singleplayer, there are just too many people that mess around on multiplayer.

The game itself is satisfactory for the beginners into virtual flight; on the other hand when you start using the expansion packs and other downloadebles from the net that are compatible with this version; it's a whole new world and you're gonna enjot it :)
