Informazioni sul gioco

Men of War: Red Tide è l'acclamato sequel dell'RTS Men of War.

This game is steadily working it's way to become my all time favorite Men of War game. It is a bit buggy sometimes on missions and it is not uncommon to restart a mission sometimes when things just go completely wrong and you get yourself into a position where you just cant win the mission anymore.

No music during gameplay (who needs it) and on average missions are hard and require a more deeper analysis of the field in order to figure out how to advance and sometimes there just isn't any easy way forward - which in turn makes for a good atmosphere as we are playing as russian infantry here so one can expect things to get icky and sticky. Them bodies just keep piling up it seems. And not just enemies this time.

First couple of missions can be really tough even on Easy so be warned. Other than that it is very much like Faces of War and Men of War as far as game mechanics go. Game also likes to bring in new units outside the map and/or expand the game area once a objective has been reached.

If you are considering MoW series do not start the MoW series with this game. Red Tide is 'advanced class' material so be warned.

edit: completed all missions. This game is indeed the best in the series. Hard and demanding but oh so rewarding.

I beat the entire game. Do I get an award yet?

In all seriousness. This game is a sort of "sibling" to Men of War, focusing more on the U.S.S.R (The Black Sea Fleet/Seamen respectively.) than the last game. And it's not some sort of quick-cash in that adds maybe 1 or 2 more missions. No no no, it adds many more. And they are (mostly) all hard as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Even when I replay them. I still reccomend getting Men of War and Men of War: Red Tide over getting something like Company of Heroes 2. Which is basically reccomending two games that are five dollars each, over getting one game that is 40 dollars. And the reason I say this...?

You can't have a tiger blown up by rifle fire in this game.

In all seriousness though. GET THIS GAME AND Men of War. You will not regretti. And have lotsa spaghetti.

Men of War: Red Tide is a sequel the original Men of War. It is a RTS / RTT game that focuses more on strategy and tactics rather than base building. No ♥♥♥♥ sherlock. Men of War: Red Tide could be considered the last "real" Men of War game.
I've already went through more or less half the game. Admittedly I played on Easy.
(What a loser)

A lot of people say that Red Tide is one of the hardest Men of War games ever in the existance of ever. I, quite honestly found it kind of an exaggeration. Maybe. I've played the original Men of War, so I have a leg to stand on I suppose.

People that are new to the Men of War games WILL find this extremely hard and most likely give up on the first mission. I was admittly stumped on the first mission. It's not because I had no idea what to do. It's because there was too much infantry to control. Men of War is basicaly NOTHING like CoH or whatever people compare Men of War nowadays.

A lot of people say that Men of War is realistic. I kind of have to disagree. It's kind of what I call "arcade" realism. It isn't like Arma with bullet fall or Warthunder with highly detailed models with the tiniest thing that can contribute to armour. Everything is downsized, for you know, a game that was technically released in 2006 / 2004 . Armour is somewhat general. The side is the side, the front is front that takes into consideration major variations, (Boxy parts of the front can be pentrated easier than sloped parts.) the engine is the engine, etc. Although you'll be rarely be using tanks, it's good to know if Bestway... Or is it DMC? 1C? Best1CMind, is kind enough to give you armoured support.

Enough of that, let's talk about infantry.
Infantry is basic. They don't have organs or blood loss, they just have a health bar the regens fairly slowly. Bandages can be used to heal.

♥♥♥♥.

I forgot to mention something, I can't shove it anywhere else, so I'll put it here.

Every soldier, tank, artillery, or whatever vehicle exist in the universe, has a inventory with ammo that will be consumed on use. Vehicles both have ammo and fuel that will be consumed. But, the A.I. gets a pass on this and has infinite ammo and fuel. (Don't complain, they had to make those fight scenes somehow.)

On to the other important part now, missions!
You command (Without you actually existing.) soviet marines, or an officer... Or a recon unit? The normal soviet arm-- ♥♥♥♥ IT. SOVIET MARINES, one of the deadlist soldiers of WW2, (Sort of like Spetznaz) you take on seemingly impossible or hopeless tasks and atempt to turn the situation in your favour for the victory of the war.
Missions are either extremely hard, grueling, save scumming, task... Or just a walk in a barbed wired ,mined, explosion filled, stealth park for people who played other "real" Men of War games. These missions is like a combination of micro management Faces of War / Soldiers: Heroes of WW2 sometimes and a really macro management version of Men of War. For example, you can go from a small group of units suriving off of what you have to (too) many units with almost equal amount of expendablity. Despite this, it is possible for most missions to not lose a single soldier or vehicle throughout the entire game.

I'm doing it.

So you can too.

Nothing is impossible, comrade.

Oh yeah, in comparison to the other Men of War games, the only nation you can play as is the Soviet Union, or USSR, or Russia, or... Whatever the ♥♥♥♥ you want to call it. Although, it adds to more (Enemy) nations that haven't been featured in other Men of War games, Romanians and Italians. (Italians partially exist in the original Men of War in the form of a single armoured car, light tank, and destroyer.)

What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ review. I should go kill myself.
