Alright. I'm going to give you a good review here, which should help you out on whether or not to buy this product. I was debating whether or not to say "Yes, I recommend it," and the benefits edged me into saying yes. I do recommend it. Here's why...
For starters, let's talk vehicles.
-The Panzer IV/70(A) [Tier III]
I took the IV/70(A) out into a few games and in realism mode and simulation mode alike, the thing's a beast. Survives anything from a T-34 with less than an 85 mil. is going to pretty much bounce off the front. Keep your rear guarded and snipe, that's the key to this tank's success. Working in a team or following a heavy tank, I generally get a good sum of kills. An additional benefit; you don't just have one of these little buggers in a battle, you have 2 thanks to 'reinforcements,' and it's cheap on squad points, if they're implemented.
There are two ammo types for the IV/70(A), HE and some sort of APCR crap that seems to make mince meat out of other tanks in Realistic and Arcade. Without debate, it's able to stand it's own quite well, even against bad odds. If I get something in my sights, I'm usually in the top 3, and often with zero deaths. Even if I do die, I still get to go at it again. KV tanks can slug shells at the front, and it's going to take them pretty well. I'd put it up against pretty much any Tier 3 tank and come out on top depending on where I'm positioned. The 75mm Pak is a great gun, and does a great deal of damage to other players.
The downsides are that there are no machine guns, and getting it in the butt will make you squeal as you burst into flames. There's no solving that problem. Another downside is that it's slow. When you're slow, alone, and have your rear exposed, either the paranoia will kill you, or a hit out of nowhere will. You're going to need company in this tank, so if you're in a squad of incompetent teammates, use them as human shields. If you're with competent teammates, enlist their aid. You need to be able to organize and adapt with this tank. There's no other solution.
Oh, and if you want to shoot aircraft with this tank... that's not going to happen unless they're nice enough to land in front of you. There are zero defenses against aircraft... Which is why you need friends! But here's a big problem with this tank. This is one that the developers should consider fixing associated with Simulation battles.
In Simulation battles, with this tank alone, you're going to be waiting in the lobby for 6 minutes for a match. If you have another tank in your crew bar, such as the KV-1 premium, YOU ARE PROBABLY NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO USE THIS TANK, because of some STUPID restriction on the Sim. If you care nothing about Simulation battles, you need not worry, but if that's all you play, then this tank is really going to be a ruined experience since you'll barely be able to use it. That's a major problem to me that requires either a good explanation from Gaijin, or a good change...
-Romanian Hs-129B-2 [Tier III]
Don't let the name fool you, this aircraft has better stats than the ordinary German Hs-129B-3***, yes, you read that right. Performance wise, you put a cannon on this thing and ground targets won't ever be a "problem." What is a problem however is the fact, as with the other Hs-129B's, that there is no tail gunner to save you if someone gets on your rear. In a dogfight, you lack the manuoverability that you have in an ordinary fighter. This thing is meant to take out vehicles, not planes, after all. You can't wiggle around like a Stuka either. All in all, the Romanian Hs has the same disadvantages as the other Hs's, despite being better than them.
Advantages over the vanilla German Hs-129s are, well, see for yourself... Roman's 455 Maximum speed beats German's 439 Max speed. Roman's 26 m/s turn time beats German's 27.9 m/s turn time. Roman's 10.6 m/second climb rate beats German's 8.3 m/s climb rate. What does the German Hs-129B-3 have that the Roman doesn't? A 75mm cannon. I'll admit, I'm a sprayer, not a sniper.
As a bomber you get only four 50kg bombs, so I'd say screw that because I need a 500kg to hit anything worth a damn. However, if you arm this thing with cannons, this thing shines. it's practical, you can't really do anything wrong with it, but
But here's the thing. If you have competent teammates to cover for you, or if you're smart enough to aid teammates being pursued by other fighters, a 30mm or 37mm cannon will tear through your target. Coupled with the two 20mm cannons and the 7mm machineguns, let's just say the only thing you have to worry about is ammo and overheating then. This plane can easily act as a fighter given the skill of it's pilot. I fly things like this as if they were freaking fighters and I do well with them, until someone rams me anyway, so they're passable in a dogfight.
Now, let's consider the "other benefits."
-4,000 Gold Eagles
Like giving coke to a baby, 4,000 Gold Eagles is enough to get you addicted. How much you can justify spending is up to you, but you can buy enough with just 4,000 Gold Eagles to have a well trained specialist crew in each Faction, or a few extra tanks that you might have wanted, or a really fast upper tier jet you always wanted, or... I'll stop there. The offer of Eagles here is only a downside if you can't afford an unhealthy addiction-Or can't find a way to justify it to yourself.
-15 days of premium
I don't know about you, but I get sick of a game every 15 days. On top of that, I've got college classes coming up. So, 15 days of premium is all that I actually *NEED*. You rake in a fortune in those silver lions, and research practically researches itself, especially when doubled. I blew 200,000 buying my KV-1 crew for specialization, and quickly made it back after a few tank fights. Premium's worth it. If you want to play this thing every day for the next 365 days though... Just wait until it expires and buy another DLC! I'll get sick of the game by then, fortunately, so such does not apply to me.
Ok, so we have a really good tank. We have a decent tank hunter. We have an amazing amount of Gold Eagles, and we have 16 days of premium. It sure as hell beats the Mustang pack for the same price! I'm satisfied with it. To me, the game itself is worth at least $29.99 for what it is, and these bonuses, especially the 4,000 Gold Eagles, match that.
