About This Game

The Way of Life makes the player relive the same life's experiences from the point of view of three characters of different ages: an adult, an old man and a child.
The experiences we want to tell about are very different, they go from a quarrel to a dream, and further to more serious topics like death and love. The main point about the game is that every experience will be told through different gameplay mechanics.
Also, every playable character has his own specific mechanics and a way to see the world.
The player throughout the game can explore and live different stories and feel a variety of emotions in an amusing and captivating experience.

Its...different...

Not in a bad way, the concept intrigued me so I decided to play.

The general game works more along the lines of mini-games rather than a straight start to finish based story. The gameplay focuses more on walking around and discovering/interacting with objects. For this game, I think thats enough because the game, I feel, is meant to be more thought provoking than actual gameplay. That being said, certain elements are hard to control due to the lack of instructions.

Overall though, its a nice little game which tries to make you see the world differently and most importantly, its free. So, I would recommend.

Pros:
- Nice graphics
- Concepts are thought provoking
- Provides some entertaining gameplay elements
- Musical score is soothing
Cons:
- The game doesn't follow much of a story
- Lots of grammer/English mistakes...
- Music can get repetitive
- Controls can be hard to interpret

I would not recomend this game for a few reasons. One, the controls on this game are ridiculous and there is no way to change them. Two, even when you go into the games there is no truley clear objective. Finally three, the game crashes a lot and it theonly way to be able to do anything (including going into the exit screen) requires you shut down the computer. I would not recommend this game but if you enjoy it, have fun. Thank you for giving me you time.

Everything in this game seeks to make peace. Lack of choice selection creates this so-called walking simulator more linear (more boring). From my point of view, this game was made by a pessimist/pessimists (I am too lazy to check). There are many people who would probably try the same path in several ways (including me); I can think of the method used in the Stanley Parable which was awesome experience; by several ways I mean for example to choose to fight "the Death" or even take the toy from boys and become grandpa badass instead of running away/helping them solve the problem. I am not saying that the original content is bad or something, but "I have already seen this somewhere" and it doesn't make big impression on me. The game itself is... OK, short, sometimes it's pretty and perhaps most importantly it's free to play.

It's an interesting story plot, the audio is soothing, and the visuals are aestetically decent, but the delivery and gamplay were really a trun off. A lot of the time spent in this game is walking and in some parts, walking very slowly to a destination. When you finally reach the destination, you're presented a linear puzzle and if you make a mistake, you're forced to start over again. In this game, starting over can mean a lot of different things. The game will sometimes spawn you at the begging of the battle (which it should do imo every time), and other times it spawns you at the begging of the game, forcing you to do a myriad of simple yet annoying tasks (i.e. walking for three minuets) just to reach your destination and start the process over again. In one level I played, I fell off the road, and then I had to re-enter the level from the "home spawn point" (not the level spawn point). Half of this game is just plain old boring walking. The bosses and puzzles were easy and linear and there is little skill that need to be used. Sure the story plot is great and there is more to the game than walking, but a huge part of the time spent in the game is mundane actions where I stare at the screen holding a button. This game spends so much time getting to the good parts, that the good parts don't seem worth the energy and time to get to.

The badly translated dialouge and laughable metaphors keep this interesting concept from being more than an amusing tech demo.

GARBAGE! This thing tries to teach me morals! Well I won't have it! I demand explosions and de_dust 2! If you're looking for an intelligent game, this is also bad. Everything they say is either common sense or blatant and uncreative. It's all together a horrible game... but thumbs up!
Nice scenery...

This game is about symbolism, I assume.

As a kid, you jump from piece to piece on a bridge to get a gigantic donut, but at the beginning area, there's a bench and a trash can.

As an adult, you see a normal street filled with people trying to crossin one direction. There's a bench and a trash can where you begin.

As an old man, you are at the same street, only lonlier and more unforgiving. It's difficult to turn, and the bench and trash can are still there.

You can tell that the kid used imagination to cross the road, and you can tell that as an adult and old man, it becomes much more gray and realistic. It basically shows you perspectives, and about how each one can affect mood or emotions.

As for the gameplay, there's no shooting, no puzzles, no free-roam. It's just walking around. The Way of Life is a game about teaching, not providing an amazing gameplay.

So overall, this game was great. It instantly brought me back to my youth, and how I thought all of the lines at my school was lava, and that I had to jump over it. Once I grew up, I started to step on the lines like they weren't a big deal. The game shows the gradual progression of how innocence can turn into realism and logic over the course of everyday life. I think it was a great game, considering the people that made this only had 24 hours.

I rate 9/10, great symbolism.

In it's current unfinished state it's free, downloadable in under a minute, and able to be finished in under 5 minutes. Don't spend more time reading reviews than it takes to download, play, and come up with your own assesment of its quality. It's different, interesting, and will be more interesting to see where new levels take the game. That's all you really need to know on this one.
