To be honest, I think this is quite out of place for a game that's supposed to be a zoo simulation. Yeah it could work with the farm expansion pack (even though it's kind of out of place? But if you want make a petting zoo using the farm animals, or a farm area) but that having domestic dogs and cats in a zoo or even a petting zoo doesn't make sense (never in my life have I ever seen or heard of a zoo or even a petting zoo that showcases domestic cats and dogs). If you like to have domestic pets in the game, that's perfectly fine but if you are looking for a "normal" zoo management game, I suggest you skip this DLC.

It's cute, but myself I prefer to have real zoo animals. I don't use these pets in my zoo's. But after all it's an "ok" DLC. If you want pettable pets for customers in your zoo, then this is something for you.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews on this DLC, You can seriously get some good ideas for why there are dogs and cats in a zoo, examples: The zoo is supporting a local shelter, Their helping a animal rescue, Or if you have the farm animals DLC (like I do) you could make a ranch with one of the bigger dogs as a sheep dog, or one of the cats as a mousing cat (barn cat)

So yeah I would recommend this DLC, ignore how many people are calling this "bad DLC" because they aren't creative enough.

Basically turns the game into "can a Yorkshire terrier beat a wolf/penguin/tyrannosaurus in a fight?" simulator.

QUESTION.

Who in their right mind, would put domesticated felines and canines in a ZOO, of all places?
Christ sake, might as well call PETA and tell them you 10K pigs. AND NOT FOR BACON!

It's just weird having domestic pets in your zoo. Especially since the cats and terriers don't have a limit to the amount they tolerate in their group like the other animals. You end up with a massive amount of them even when keeping just a breeding pair and sterilising the rest and keep getting messages that they are on the verge of dying of exhaustion, even though I have several shelters for them to rest in, the only animals I've seen that die from exhaustion have been cats, terriers and turtles not sure why? And the weird thing is they aren't listed as an animal for the petting section. So removed the cats and terriers and put much better animals in their place such as the lions and tigers since I was running out of space.

Only the old german herding dog is worth having out of the dlc as it has an group limit of 8 and does not suffer and die from exhaustion and it looks cool as well being rather wolf like.
