As much as I love the game, the job system is ♥♥♥♥ed. 20 bucks on this game is crazy, but 4 dollars is a pretty decent price. I would say that I hope Xgen deciedes to fix the job system, but they probably wont.

Take everything from the first Stick RPG that your clouded rose-tinted memory thought was good and update it so that it actually is good, toss in some more content and make the map a decent size and you've got Stick RPG 2. This is better in every single way with better combat, better graphics and more than an hour of content. I may not have much time in the DX, but I played the free version obsessively.

Sadly this game is extremely outdated for modern gaming standards. The only resolution it supports is 480p. I would recommend the free web version, but not this. For the record, I use a 24 inch 1080p display.

Pretty fun game but it's a little too pricey for the extra features. You're better off just playing the free version.

this game costs WAY TOO MUCH

If it's on sale for less $5 buy it

The game itself is alright, and it has a lot of replay value
getting max in all jobs and all weapons is quite fun to do.

If you want an honest review, then here it is. Stick RPG 2 is a lot like its predecessor. In one way, it runs dry very fast. It runs dry even faster now that they've decided to include a cheat menu! No more running back to your home, just press the 1 button to teleport to it! Don't feel like waiting for your interest to increase? Hold in the T button! Of course, all of these have to be activated, which I did. But all in all, it was a fun experience. You won't get very much time out of the game, but the time you do get it pretty fun. Lots of secret things to explore and funny things to read. The price tag is something I do NOT agree with though. This game should not be 20 dollars. Or even 10! This game should be 5 dollars at MOST. Get this game if it's on sale for 75% off or more. Nothing lower.

I recommend this game under three conditions

1. You played Stick RPG 1 and wish it was more expansive
2. You want to have the extra content
3. Don't pay full price, get it in sale.

It's an enjoyable nostalgia trip for those of us who scoured the web for game sites not yet locked by the school's firewall back in the day.

Stick RPG 2 has two different sides to the game. One side is a time management sim featuring wild goose chase quests, and the other side is a top down arcade brawler. Both sides completely different from each other, and both are necessary to master to complete the game.

As a sim, your character has to make money through working jobs, gambling, and performing various tasks. Doing favors (quests) for individuals will help you aquire different tools, which will ultimately lead you to the game goal items. As for time management, you have to decide what jobs and tasks are worth your time to work to build up your bank and character stats. You can also develop a love life interacting with potential mates. You also sometimes have a choice on how to accomplish certian tasks, but there are very few choices offered throughout the entire game.

As a top down arcade brawler, it feels very similar to Hotline Miami, but everyone has a life bar, and you can't pick up weapons off the ground. You can build weapons through quests, shop at the weapons store, or sometimes even win them as fight rewards. Some battles will only allow you to fight with your fists, but there are also battle grounds where you can exploit all your weapons.

As far as the overall experience goes, it feels really unpolished and unfinished. Prices of various items and services are very inflated, forcing you to spend a lot of time working jobs to develop a solid bank account. It is also frusturating working a job and losing stats on a bad shift (on the job accidents, with no insurance options). You also can have lucky days where you get a substantial bonus on your shift, but you can't adjust the odds in your favor for these events. On a funny note, your strength stat will make your firearms stronger for some reason, and you have unlimited ammo, so running blindly with a machine gun or flame thrower on full auto is an acceptable tactic. As fun as it is the first two or three times, it gets old really fast.

The game feels more like a prototype for something really awesome, but definitely lacks a lot of ambition, and needs to be tweaked. I do recommend it to hobbyist level game designers who want ideas for implementation, but need some direction. For everyone else, pick it up as cheap as you can (I got it for $1), and waste a good 4 to 6 hours before you give up on it. It isn't so bad, it just isn't all that great either.
