I generally like this table, though it continues to be a frustrating experience at times. While it looks simple enough to be a table for beginners, I highly suggest not getting this one if you're just getting into video pinball.

Theme - one of the funnest (and funniest) themes in Zen's stable, the fact that Deadpool is constantly making 4th wall jokes makes the theme pop. The modes are funny and rather unique (especially arm wrestling).

Gameplay - I get where people are annoyed by the table layout. Sometimes I get annoyed by it as well. That said, it's a relatively simple table. The shot holes behind the upper flipper mechanic are interesting and I don't think I've seen that before in Zen Tables. Yes, the middle ramp is something to be avoided until the time is right and figuring that out leads to multiple drains until you do. Flow is mediocre.

Scoring - Low Scoring. Amusingly, this fact is called out by Deadpool. :)

Overall Score: C

Sure, the Deadpool table has some cons. The design is a bit strange, and it's difficult to really tell where your ball is at any given time with all the weird ramps and traps, and don't even try to comprehend all the crazy different goals and spelling challenges and whatnot because it's just so busy it's confusing. But I could list cons all day and this still would be recommended. Why? Because it's fun. It's got some funny voice over, and it's f#$%ing DEADPOOL. How could you NOT love a Deadpool pinball machine??? To me, the insanity of it all just adds to the fun, because if Deadpool designed a pinball machine, you can bet your sweet ♥♥♥ it wouldn't make sense to anyone but him. So if you want a standard pinball machine where you actually know what the goals are and how to use them, pick basically anything else. But if you like Deadpool (and I suspect you might, since you're reading this review) then this is definitely worth a couple bucks, which is incidentally what this table costs.

This is more of an anti-review review. I have a few things to say to the naysayers:

1) "Bad ramp placement"? Nothing is wrong with them, and if there are "problems" it just means you need to adapt your strategy. Pinball doesn't need to have the same timing for every table, and would in fact suffer greatly if that were the case. To complainers: quit being so freakin lazy and learn a new strategy if you find it awkward. My guess is the complaints come from the fact that some of the ramps *require* chaining multiple flips from both lower and upper flippers... but that isn't bad design, it just requires more skill (and is incredibly common).

2)"Completely random"? Not even close. It's just as logical as any other table out there. Perhaps more challenging and/or unique, but not random at all.

3) "Unavoidable loss"? No such thing. That's what nudging is for, as well as learning to not hit areas that are blatently trollish in their placement (a core mechanic of pinball since its intial inception and before the term 'trollish' was even a thing). And most importantly: keep in mind this is a *Deadpool* table... anyone familiar with Deadpool would expect an abundance of tomfoolery at the expense of the audience.

4) "[anything regarding the animated characters]"? Plenty of other tables have parts where the animated characters obscure the view (that's part of the experience of FX2). Besides, it isn't nearly as bad as some claim, not to mention the points I make in #3: this is *Deadpool*... screwing with people (and in particular the audience) is his whole gimmick. Hell, even if you're not a fan of the comic the table has plenty of bits where it makes a point of messing with the player. Don't like it? Don't play it. But don't say it's bad because it's doing exactly what fans would assume. Complaining that Deadpool is being Deadpool is like whining that Star Wars tables have wookies and lasers.

Now, aside from that would I say it's a good table? Yup. But ANY table can be a good table if you are willing to learn its nuances. I consider a core part of pinball the ridiculous amount of time and skill it takes to learn a table. If you think that's a bad thing, my opinion is that you're not really the pinball type. But if you're willing, just have some patience and get satisfaction from the fact that the longer you play the more skilled you become. ALL pinball is hard, and the best tables in history are just as trolly as this table is.

Should you buy it? No idea... that's up to you. Demo it a bunch of times, throw the tainted (and flawed) reviews out the window, and form your own opinion. I'm only writing this "review" because it is driving me nuts that some people are spouting blatent BS. I almost didn't buy the table because of them, and I'm glad I followed my instinct to ignore them.

Actually, I feel this table isn't that bad. I think the concept was to make it as unpredictable, as Deadpool is, and the design reflects his chaotic mindset. I think his appearences are intentionally deisgned to make him anoying, as he is in the comics. Yeah, it's pretty frustrating at sometimes, and you need to be focus much more on the game than the rest of the tables, because the kickbacks are not 100% percent sure to save your ♥♥♥ (or in this case, your balls), the ball is bouncing back and forth with speed, and even the ball saver is just blocks some of the view. I think Deadpool's remarks are pretty funny, and outright stupid, but I see more concept in this as well, not a design or programming failure.
So it's unique, comparing it to the rest. Anyway, it's not that expensive, so if you want a bit more challange, you should try it. If you expect something more casual fun from a pinball game, maybe this table is not the best for you.
