Why Early Access?

“Because our game is a hybrid of city building and FPS, we are essentially building two games in one. Blending those together will require us to decide what elements of each to focus on and which to pare down as unnecessary or undesirable. The gaming community is the best source of feedback for that.”

“We expect between eight months to a year from the beginning of Early Access to full release.”

“The early access version will contain the basic elements of both the city builder and combat, but the final version will be the fully developed game.”

“The city builder module and the combat module are ready for players to dive in and play around with them, but the systems are not yet developed (like leveling up, skill trees, etc). The story is not included yet.”

“Yes, we will open at a price of $5.99 for early access, and as the game becomes more developed, we will gradually raise it to a final price of $29.99.”

About This Game

Heroes of Issachar is an action role playing game meshed with a city-builder, inspired by the classic SNES title, ActRaiser.
It has everything you love about RPG’s – loot, levels and action. But instead of grinding dungeon after dungeon, you will rid the land of evil, one province at a time. To do this, you will combine your skill in combat with your ability to build a city capable of withstanding the enemy’s assault and launching an attack on the enemy stronghold itself.

Gameplay
Gameplay consists of two main perspectives: action and city-building. There are dungeons to crawl and loot to procure, but the core gameplay comes during the city-building. As you rebuild the cities in each province, the enemy will not make it easy. You must construct your city so that it not only flourishes, but is well defended. That includes picking up a sword, hammer, axe or staff and cutting down the enemy before they reach your walls.

Heroes
You will not be questing alone. As you travel throughout the land, you will rescue people who have been taken by the evil forces in the land. When you rescue them, they will be available to add to your party, or to reside in the main castle where their particular talents will aid your journey outside of combat. Fans of the Suikoden series will quickly recognize its influence on Heroes of Issachar.

Backstory
The year is 1794. Your sister, a Christian Missionary to the South Pacific, has gone missing there. You travel to her last known location to find a cave that leads to a world unlike anything you could imagine. The game picks up upon your arrival in the land of Issachar. Your mission is to find your sister and return home. But the land is filled with evil. To find your sister, you have no choice but to help eradicate the enemy forces that hinder your search. Explore the mysteries hidden in the land of Issachar. Discover the impact your sister’s faith has upon the land and you.
As the player, you interact with the story the way you want. Play as male or female, Christian or atheist. There is no method with advantages or disadvantages. That said, the underlying story has a Christian theme, so players should know that going in.
