What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“More things are constantly being added and the experience will change over time. It's less beta testing at this point and more expanding on the game, although bugs and glitches are inevitable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Most likely for several months, but it will depend on what the community thinks.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current final release goal is to improve graphics, upgrade networking functionality, create more content and provide full Windows, OSX and Linux support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is completely playable with hours and hours of content to explore.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It will remain free, but the abilities provided by Gold may change. Nothing that will make the game pay to win, however.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Throughout all of the development so far popularly recommended ideas have been added to the game. This will continue through the Steam release with the forums. The Steam Workshop could also be integrated to allow the community to create their own content. Polls are widely used to gauge community interest in various ideas.”

3.9.5.0 Update Notes

Hello!

If you're interested in testing out this patch head on over to the Preview branch! You can gain access using the secret passcode "OPERATIONMAPLELEAF" in the Betas tab.

Additions:

  • Added crafting level requirements:
    Level 1: Improvised Items
    Level 2: Metal Structures
    Level 3: Complex Buildables
  • Added cooking level requirements:
    Level 1: Ingredients
    Level 2: Snack Meals
    Level 3: Formal Meals
  • Added fire requirement to cooking. For now this means campfires.
  • Added quality to food and water. Lower quality reduces the amount of food/water gained. Anything below 50% is unhealthy and causes sickness.
  • Added ability to purify liquids with tablets under the repair tab.
  • Added bread. (ID 460)
  • Added tuna sandwich. (ID 461)
Improvements:
  • Improved skills to only improve, not gating access to repair and healing others. [Right click on another player to heal them.]
  • Improved skills death balance.
  • Improved quality icons on small items.
Tweaks:
  • Tweaked ingredient healthyness a bit lower.
  • Tweaked snayperskya recoil a bit lower.
Fixes:
  • Fixed flares in mechanic spawns.
  • Fixed vaccine description length.
  • Fixed a naming convention issue with stats.
  • Fixed crafted items to start with 100% quality.
Now that healing others is more open hopefully more people will see their silly animations. [Check them out!]

Next update you can expect more food crafting items such as milk and cheese, for right now a lot of recipes would not make sense.

Sorry about the lack of progress the last few days, with the release of GTA V on PC I got very sidetracked. On that note with the April roadmap I did not take into account my AP exams coming up very soon, so rather than a huge undertaking like overhauling the networking quite yet I'll be focusing on more features such as hunting and fishing!

Thanks for reading!

About This Game

Unturned is a sandbox game in the emerging multiplayer apocalypse survival genre. Rather than focusing on being an MMO it provides players with easy systems to sit down and survive the zombie infestation with their friends. Over the course of a typical adventure, groups will have a blast fortifying locations, scavenging for supplies, trying to live off the land and negotiating with other people. The game is being developed entirely with the community in focus, and tons of features are based entirely on feedback:

Fortification:
Players can build massive forts out of structural building blocks, or build onto smaller buildings in the world with barricades. It is also possible to create traps and intricate electronic systems. More options for building are constantly being added based on what the community requests.

Survival:
It is entirely possible to live off the wilderness by harvesting trees and rocks, growing crops and hunting animals down. What sort of survival stuff is added is entirely decided by the community.

Explore:
The game goes where the community wants it to. The initial release map is set on the lovely Prince Edward Island, but over the next few months many more locations will arrive for players to explore depending on what the community wants to see. Currently the island has plenty of interesting locations to discover and loot.

Bandits:
Players can choose to enter player versus player servers and battle other players to steal their gear. Banditry is highly supported with plenty of weapons and sneaky devices.

Heroes:
Players can join player versus environment servers to team up with other people, and easily create clans to play with their pals.

Early Access:
This is the first public release of the game, but new features and content are constantly getting added as a result of community feedback. You can see how far the game has come with the help of the community since the original testing prototype:

Ok, ok, I know what you are thinking, "this games is just a stupid copy of Minecraft, not worth it". Well let me just say, your wrong. This is the best game I have played with friends. It is basicaly a free (totally amazing) version of dayZ. The map is huge and the 3.0 version is so much better. here is a story of what happened when I first got the game.

I woke up stranded on a island with nothing at all. I found some pants and a Tshirt and set off. I searched and searched for a while untill I found a Glock stashed under a bed, and some food in the kitchen. I set off. I killed zombies as I went and eventually found another player. I thought he was friendly but it ended up otherwise. he pulled a revolver on me and said to hand over my stuff. I figured I had to move fast. I punched the guy in the face which he didn't expect and I ran behind a car. I checked my Glock, which only had two bullets. I knew I had to get at least two head-shots. I jumped on the car and shot and heard a load bang coming from his direction. I looked down and I was hit right on my Tshirt but I had jerked the trigger when I shot and hit him in the foot. I thought I was a dead man when suddenly I heard a siren. I looked at the road and saw a police speeding down the road. When he got out he said to drop our weapons, which I did without further promting. The robber on the other hand was quick to shoot at the officer. The cop ran behind his car and I knew it was all over when I saw him pull from his pack a MapleStrike with a 7x scope and silencer. Even though I knew he wasn't aiming at me I still hit the floor. When it was all over the police brought me to headquarters and checked me over. Once I was all fixed up he let me go with an extra revolver.

Hope this was helpful I rate this game a 10/10

What else can I say?

2.0 Unturned:
+ Easy to start off if you know what to do, you may die a few times, but it's worth it, because in the end, you'd have good stuff and basically "beat the game" in 2 weeks.

+ Smaller map, and if you spent your time on this game, you can basically memorize it. If not, find yourself a map at the airport.

+The graphics are... meh. Not the worst, but not the best. If you want good graphics, you have to suffer from lag.

+ Zombies are a joke if you spent your time on timing your hits and backpedaling.

3.0 Unturned:
+ If you "beat the game" for the 2.0 version, this version is a joke. You get everything you need fast, but in 1 hour instead of 2 weeks. That's how easy it is.

+ Zombies are much harder to kill due to the nerf on most weapons (Sledgehammer used to OHKO any zombie in the head, now its not), and they have longer attacking animations, so you have to practice fighting all over again.

+ MUCH BIGGER MAP AND GREAT IMPROVEMENT ON GRAPHICS, HOLY JARATE. (TF2 reference, don't judge)

+ Random cheat sheet when you open your menu and going into info, you can find yourself the whole f*cking map. Screw 2.0 PEI maps.

+ MOAR GUNS, EVEN MOTHER OF RUSSIA JOINED THIS WARFARE.

+ Zombies are stupid, they don't chase you out of the town.

+ Apparently Nelson plays TF2 as well, if you know what I mean, that means you found the secret item :)

Overall, excellent game, but too easy for anyone that has common sense, 10/10 will play agian xD

  • Spend 10 hours trying to find your friend on the map.
  • He dies from thirst as we see eachother.
  • Finally find him again then build a base.
  • Discover 3.0 version after its release months ago.
  • Switch to 3.0 then get stacked while your friend still dies from thirst...
  • Build another base, but bigger and better.
  • Discover custom maps.
  • Switch to that.
  • Build yet another base.
  • Install 7 mods without testing them.
  • Whole map gets flooded with water, base is gone, items gone, no backup.
  • Realize you've wasted 60 hours of your life...

Recap: 99/100 Game, would crash vehicles into ocean again...

If your looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if your looking for an outstanding pie recipe you've come to the right place.

Ingredients:
1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2. 1/2 cup white sugar
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup water
5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
6. 1 pinch salt
7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside.
3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices.
4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal.
5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

This game is fan ♥♥♥♥ing tastic for people like me, a person who loves these kinds of games but don't have the money to get H1Z1 and DayZ. This game has some real potential and honestly for what its worth the graphics are pretty good I admit it's a lot like roblox graphics but I have put lots of hours into this game and its damn right enjoyable. The work being put in is more than just graphic work which I enjoy these days games are focused more on graphics than actual gameplay but this F2P is different because MICROTRANSACTIONS ARE NOT NEEDED TO HAVE FUN. For once I find a fun as ♥♥♥♥ f2p with out p2w and I am honestly really h4ppy about (see what I did there?) anyways all and all this game is great espiecally with friends I recommend its definitely my favorite f2p so far

Well, where do I begin?
This game is pure Heaven. I mean this game first came out in Roblox, and then made a debut on steam. That’s how awesome this game is. It’s a combination between DayZ and Minecraft, the two best games in the world,

-It has the freedom of creativity of a Minecraft game

-And the gruesome objective to survive with friends as DayZ

I'd point out that this game dame DOES have some flaws, as it is having problems with Hacking, glitches, and so on. But look at battlefield 4 when it first came out, that game is BROKEN when it first set out, but look at it now. It’s one of the biggest FPS games in the world. Unturned may have been having problems with hackers, but that's common for MMO games. That is why Unturned’s developer, Nelson Sexton has minimized that.

Overall, this game is Unique and doesn’t get any better than this. It’s free, it’s great, it’s f*ckin amazing

99/100 would play

-Great game! I personally like playing this with friends hand having a laugh. game can be a bit hard when playing on a server, but it will greatly help some of you learn to adapt quickly!

-Setbacks to gaming. I play this on windows, yet I also run linux as well (don't ask why I run two platforms). It would be great if you had a linux platform for this game!
