Some basic machanics of this game need polishing. I'm not refering the horrible controls, thoes make this game the novelty it is, but I'm talking checkpoints and forgivness on falling off platforms. Would be a much better game if the developer(s) didn't mistake difficult with repeative mundaneness.

Piece of crap. Again.
Same models, same sounds as in "Overcast". Same broken mechanics.
Boss:
- Let's make some huge ♥♥♥♥ing platform, randomly moving around.
- What if it moves through the player?
- Nah, I pretty sure it won't happen.
- Ok. But what if it moves in spot where player can't reach it. Maybe we should allow player to look straight up?
- Nah, it would be useless.

Maps:
- Okay, another platform which looks just like the others is ready.
- Maybe we could place them aslant?
*two platorms added*
- Nah, it doesn't look good.
*two platforms left forgotten*

PS
I have one tip - you move faster when you press both up and left or right arrow.

You know that game sucks when soundtrack is more expensive than game itself.

A short quirky FPS game that plays very much like Serious Sam and Painkiller but with varying level objectives and awesome dubstep music, its good light fun, especially if you get it for free, just be warned that the overall quality of the game is extremely rough around the edges but the controls work perfectly.

Alright im gonna be real with you here. I know you might look at my hours and say "Hey, this kid doesnt even have 100 hrs and she is making a review? Smh." Please, hear me out.

Ive played quite a few games in my time and all memes aside. Its been quite awhile since a game has put me through a vast array of emotions like Dead Bits has.

Dead bits isnt a game, its a journey. From laughing at the intro to screaming like a deranged psycho on every level past the 1st, i felt like i was a part of the story. Im not gonna lie, this game hurt me physically while i was playing but i kept going, because ill be h*cked if i cant check "beat dead bits" off my bucket list.

I was going to leave a negative review after the level you go to volcano-land. I couldnt handle having giant flaming meatballs being lobbed at supersonic speed towards me and i regretfully raged out, with no intent of ever returning. However a year later i came back due to the demand of a friend, and ill tell you that in my life as a gamer there have been few moments that felt as magical as blowing spicy meatballs out of the air and beating the level. The dubstep blew out my ear drums but i trudged on, level to level.

(Slight Spoilers ahead)

After i saw the final boss? I felt rage. I wanted to make him/her/it drown in volcanoland or get pelted by giant golfballs, but in the end the game really gives you a moral dilema. Rather than kill the boss, Quilly lets him live. Against all odds Quilly decides to be the better red-haired non-specified thing and walk away. Ill admit that this brought me to tears, i never expected a game with so many blocks to make me feel such RAW emotions.

TL;DR its $0.49 cents and "Eh" might aswell buy it just to add it to you "Really Cheap Games of questionable quality" list.

I do loath writing this review, as I really have no good things to say about Dead Bits. Actually I might have a few good things to say. First off, do not buy this game. You can get it for free from other websites, which saves you a dollar. In its essence, Dead Bits is an FPS. Its quality is at the same standard as a first year student game, which leads me to believe it is.

This game got on Steam through Greenlight, as with many games, good or bad. Dead Bits falls onto middle ground. It is not a bad game in playability but a bad game everything else. It works, but the only entertainment I found was boring. After a while, it gets repetitive, and because of that I never actually beaten the game. However, from the experience I have had, I would honestly suggest passing on this, even if free, and playing some other game. There are plenty out there from indie developers that are being worked on and that are free.

I can understand why people may not like this game: the graphics, the music, the forced slo mo, etc. I for one had a great time playing this game. The game was very challenging, and not in the rage inducing way. The controls are fine, and are easy to get used to. Each level brings in a new game mechanic or uses a different game genre. I think the graphics have their own unique style that seperates itself from other FPS games, due to its' simple blocky worlds and (sometimes) orbular enemies. I'm not a fan of dubstep myself, but I found myself more than once humming some of the Dead Bits songs. They're catchy, fuses rock elements, and never gets too repetitive. It contains some of the only good dubstep/brostep songs you'll ever hear. The worst thing about it is that the platforming sections are too hard, as you have to be careful how far you jump. Still, I really loved the game, and it's one of the more unique FPS games you'll find here. 8/10

This game is good but it has downfalls. First I do not know why the game is p2p because the level designs are crap, and parts of the level don't make sense for example: in the lava level you touch the lava you die instantly... SO WHY DO YOU WANT ME TO JUMP ON PLATFORMS MADE OF LAVA FOR THE REST OF THE LEVEL?? Second the mechanics are poor, for instance the way the levels are designed leads to the npc's to get jammed or even abuse level design and float across voids where you instantly die if you tried. Third the settings/controls are horrible you cannot I repeat CANNOT change anything not even the volume which I could hear dubstep from across my room from my headphones (Also if you don't like dubstep I do not reccomend because that is all this game plays) the controls are basic but jumping is a nightmare. there is a hidden mechanic the dev probobly didn't know about that I refer to as Corner boosting it is when you jump onto a corner and launches you into a certain direction [sometimes even to your death]. Good things I can say about this is the difficulty sure it may be insanely broken but nothing is better than a challenge like the level that expected you to defeat a 1500 hp enemy with a baseball bat (or a shiny stick also this positive sentence wasn't 100% serious). CONCLUSION!!! don't buy unless you have seen someone else play it and know what you are in for because I wasn't I just saw the game on sale and bought and set down after the first day and almost a year later I write this review.

I'm really digging the wubs to this dubstep soundtrack!
Awesome little gem in my opinion, challenging and kinda cute too.

On a serious note though, if dubstep irritates you, its all good, there is the option to turn the sound off (but why?! :P). Block styled, bit graphics similar appearance to games like Minecraft however quality is better and smooth, had no issues with lag. Controls can be scary, not as in buggy, they're good on that... just sometimes you may appear to look like you're walking on air ^^ its trippy. Sound = awesome. Story is however basic and lacking in any real detail, its basically just survive and shoot.

In all I have so much fun with this game!
