About This Game

Floating Point is a free, peaceful game about using a grappling hook to swing yourself gracefully through randomly generated spaces. In the air, you're fighting gravity. When you splash down beneath the water, you're fighting your own buoyancy to swing yourself further into the depths.

The only objective is to collect points, and the only thing that increases your points is swinging swiftly, smoothly and elegantly without hitting anything. As you pick up momentum, you start to glow, the bars you're collecting rise up, the music kicks in, and your trajectory burns a bright red line in the air, drawing huge, beautiful mathematical curves of your arcing flight.

Also the name is a pun, so that's cool.

Have you ever played a Worms title and wondered what it would be like to have infinite ninja rope and no time limit? Or maybe you just dream of being Spider-Man and think that superheroes who fly are just cheating. If neither of those applies to you but you want a zen-like platforming (as far as platforming is involved because the game features platforms to avoid rather than traverse) experience that isn't loaded with spikes, traps, and pitfalls, this is the game for you too.

The graphics and presentation are minimalistic and sublime, the soundtrack is soothing, and the gameplay itself is simple. It runs smoothly, making those moments when you hit top speed feel ever so good and your graceful arcs that take you above and below the water's surface show that physics simulations need not be infinitely complex.

I personally find it less a 'game' and more a relaxing experience that brings a calm smile, reminding me of games like Flower. And for the price tag, you don't have anything to lose.

Ninja Rope Simulator 2014 gets a 10/10 red dots from me.

A very simple game with simple mechanics, and pretty much nothing except for you (the ball), the wire you create, and the cubes and water.

Oh, and the fantastic music.
Honestly, it's a small game but if you just want to relax a bit and enjoy a peaceful game, give this a go. It's worthwhile.

This game is very simple, yet very awesome. You swing around and that's it. Very relaxing, and the difficulty level is customizable.

They give you a dot and a grappling hook of sorts. A "few" hours later, and everyone you've ever cared about has abandoned you to your point-induced coma. 11/10

If you liked the swinging mechanics from the Spiderman 2 tie-in game on PS2, then you certainly should try this. I found it to be quite relating and once you get the hang of it, there's some really fluid movement. That said, when you screw up it can take a while to get going again. Don't let the simplistic graphics fool you, it's a bit of a processor hog (though I didn't realize until I went from Best to Fastest)

Pretty good for relaxing.

Just wear some headphones, and start swinging. At first, it might not seem like much, but after some concentration and a few minutes, you'll be deep in a trance like state, relaxed, you will only care about points, and about how good it feels to swing smoothly and with elegance from platform to platform.

Massively fun time waster. Better, more original ideas and mechanics than most AAA games, never mind games you can play for absolutely free. No real sense of progression or altered difficulty, but then what can you expect from a totally free game? Absolutely worth the 50MB or however much space it takes up, as well as an hour or two of your time. Do not listen to the negative reviews, as not one single person who wrote one seems to understand that twenty minutes of entertainment from a completely free game is still an amazing deal.

I just downloaded because is made by Suspicious Developments, the game overall is very simple and peaceful, its about of 60 MB to dowload the game.
Floating Point is just the perfect game to play while you hear music, not necessarily the soundtrack of the game (that is very good too). Well not very impressive.

It's rare that a game gets MORE fun as you play, but Floating Point is that game.

Engaging and absorbing, more fun as you get good at the timing.

Thank you, Tom Francis, for the freebie!

Worth playing now and then. Don't worry about the points, just relax and swing and bounce around. It's really that simple in concept, but getting the hang of swinging (particularly when you're "too high") can be tricky.

Possibly the most relaxing - yet simple - game on Steam. Maybe even on the Internet.
