If you still don't know, how it feels to continue playing at 4 a.m. just because the soundtrack of the game is ducking awesome, then welcome to ESJ!

After my previous experience in the original ESJ, I didn't really believe in Groove City.
Fortunately, the game overwhelmed all my expectations!
Even though it contains different unnecessary parts, like collecting stars, I still kept doing that just because of even better musical accompaniment and great gameplay experience, which feels completely different from the original game. Less unfair places, more accent on the platforming itself makes ESJ: GC simply a major improvement to its parent.

In general, Groove City is just a H-I-I-I-G-H value for a cheap price. Go ahead and purchase!

[Edit]: It took me only about an hour to beat the game for the first time, but I feel like I will replay it a bunch of times just because of how great it is.

This is the only game to make my mind subconsciously associate ♥♥♥♥♥♥ic noises with failure! That's gonna have some consequences.

But in all serious, this game is pretty cool. It's one of those platformers you get a couple hours out of but feel enriched with the experience. Plus 100%ing this game isn't too hard but feels super rewarding; the game is the perfect level of difficulty, tilting just on the precipice of rage-quitty but staying safely on the fun side.

OHHH YEAHHHHH

Electronic Super Joy: Groove City is a wonderful installment into the ESJ series. Michael Todd keeps to the platformers roots and doesn't swerve too far away from what made the origional Electronic Super Joy so great. Sticking with the same music compser (EnV) leaves the game with the same lasting musical impression of absolutely nippletastic beats. Groove City does however feel MUCH harder than the original which is a good thing for all you who want a very rewarding platforming experience. Overall I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first one and just in general to anyone who enjoys a game with great beats and a great challenging platformer experience. 9/10

If you prefer impressions in video format, have no fear I do that as well!
