Wow, so part 2 wasn't a "hollow wish" afterall! Upsetting how I somehow missed the release of it back in March 2015, it must have not made the front page?! Anyway, Blade Kitten itself bubbles over with cuteness and really is fun to play. One of my favorite games ever. Thank you Krome Studios for finally getting part 2 out there, extending the enjoyment even further!

Whilst I enjoyed chapter 1, I am finding chapter 2 a bit of a chore to play through due to the never ending stream of player seeking enemies in almost every level.

I had high hopes for this follow up and those have been mostly filled.

The story telling is quickened up which is a good thing.
Their is more emotion involved with the characters and the plot points make a lot more sense.

The levels feel fresh enough and the collectables are a bit easier to find (I still haven't found everything in the previous episode. I know I suck at it)

This game is shorter then the first episode.
However as I already said the story telling is better wrapped up and has a nice ending that kind of fits with the comic like theme that has been their, but had been convoluted by plot points in the previous episode that weren't up to par.

Their is a tight ramp up in difficulty near the end. Till that point it is harder, but nothing impossible.

Also their are some extra weapons and some extra costumes which are nice.
If this is the benchmark for the series and they can keep up like this; please write me up for the next episode.

For a more indept look on the game, first see my review of the base game.

Most of Episode 2 is of usual Blade Kitten quality, and the platforming sections get a lot more interesting. However, the final boss fight quite frankly sucks.

And here I thought Blade Kitten: Episode 2 was a myth... So glad to see it's not though^^ Thanks to Krome Studios for not forgetting about this game after 4 years <3

If you liked the first episode, you will like this one. It's shorter, but costs less than episode 1. In terms of graphics etc, it's still the same (not that this was a bad thing). So if you want more of Blade Kitten, or want to see how the story ends, episode 2 is worth a buy.

I enjoyed episode 1 and 2 and hope there will be an episode 3...

The simple fact that Krome never abandoned Blade Kitten and went all the way to make this one happen desereves a purchase.

A must have for anyone wanting to finally see how the story ends. Prefer to get with the $8 bundle instead of buying them separately, which is $3 more.

Controls feel a bit sticky and stubborn but it could be my hardware doing that.

Episode 2 continues right from where the original game ended, and is just as good as the main game, though obviously a lot shorter. Worth the money if you liked the original game and want to continue the adventure

The video below contains minor spoilers and starts where the original game ended. But the video is very short

Years of wait are finally over.
Basically, this is your old true Kit Ballard - the story picks up where it stopped back in the first episode.
More enemies to defeat, more data paks to collect, more achievement to unlock. If you have BK episode 1, you really should go for episode 2.
It's somewhat a pity Krome Studios did not add trading cards to the game, but I hope we will see them in the future.
I also hope we will see episode 3 some day... and we will not have to wait 5 years to see it.

And yes... Thank you, Krome Studios. Thank you, Linds.

First of all a potentially interesting fact to those that don't know it, this game, and also this sequel DLC is pretty much 5 years old. This DLC may have been released on the 16. March 2015, but it has been produced many many years earlier, and the release of Episode 2 has been prevented by some rights issues for those past 5 years, so if you rate this sequel episode you should take that into account.

With that being said the DLC simply continues the story the original game from way back then in 2010 couldn't finish. Over the years the base engine also has got some updates in terms of graphics and the likes.

The strengths and weaknesses are still the same:

+Smooth gameplay once you get the hang of it
+Nice Landscapes and an interesting 'planet'
+Varied ways to fight and different weapons
+Different costumes and the possibility to dress up as other characters

-Rather monotonous enemies
-Clipping and some issues with the ragdolls of the player and enemy
-There are still places where you can leave the map, at times you might even find explorable, though broken secret worlds

-The generic Sollers generic lame kick will stop anything short of a charging T-Rex with mounted Matter/Antimatter Thrusters
--Your Blade? Every time, unless he forgets to kick the armor piercing blade, which sounds like a perfectly intelligent idea anyway, and of course the kick will even protect him when you slash the blade in his face
--Your Special Attack? If the Soller triggers the kick in the right moment, you bet! As an added bonus you will even take damage during your special attack apart from your strongest skill being single feetedly stopped by the most generic copypaste enemy
--A noot charging at full speed? Of course! Because you know, when an elephant is charging at you, just kick it away
(Okay, joking aside, this block by the generic Soller is just ridiculous. If it happens to annoy you at the weirdest times, switch to ranged attacks or grabs, or even better jump over the enemy and strike from above, either with normal blade slashs or the slam. If you go for a speed run, do not just run into these Sollers, jump over them and attack them from above or skip them completely)

As for the story and the characters, it's a thing of taste I think. I found both okay, though nothing overly special. I'd also prefer a different art style but that's just my personal taste as well.

Can I recommend buying it? It's pretty much a no-brainer, if you liked the first part, you'll like this Episode. Even more so when you knew there would be a sequel and pretty much forgot about it already just to find out it's finally there to finish the cliffhanger.

After playing through some of the DLC, the usual bugs in the game [ahem, falling out of the map...] still exist.

Despite the said bugs still existing, I'm glad that this episode finally made it.
