25th June, 2012

Dear Jenny,

I don't know where you are but write you this letter in the hope that you might return home.

Water and food supplies are running low and I have to leave Riverlake. I haven't slept in what seems like ages - I try and shut my eyes but I keep hearing strange noises outside.

The streets echo with desperate screams and it's too dangerous to be out for long. There are crazy people running around, attacking anyone in sight - it's like they are infected with some sort of virus.

I watched one of them stand up not long after he was shot multiple times in the chest. It's surely only a matter of time before the infected come bursting through the door here.

None of it makes any sense. I don’t know how this all happened but I do know that I'm not safe here. Where is the military? Are they even around any more? I don't know what's going on and in the city I am totally alone.

I am certain you are still out there somewhere, I can feel it. I want you to know that I will wait for you... Do not think that I am leaving you - you are and always will be with me and my love for you will be forever.

If you read this I will have made my way out of here. I will wait for you at the gas station just a few miles out of town.

I hope I can be there tomorrow evening and I will wait for a week. If you do not show up I will be heading north, to try and find someone - anyone - who might have survived this.

Forever yours.

From my growing library of games(thanks to bundles), I noticed this game couple of days ago, because it just got updated. So I briefly read the reviews on Steam. I see almost all negative reviews, and most reviewers seem to only spend an average of 15 minutes or so. I thought I could give it a try and spend a few minutes, just for fun, to see bad this point and click game is.

But I ended up spending a couple of hours on it. The game itself is very short, but if you really want to finish the game, you'd have to start the game over and over again; because there is no save, and instant inevitable death everywhere. At one point, I just want to give up, because I keep dying and restarting. And even when you idle for a couple of minutes, a zombie will come out of nowhere and then game over. So I tried to motivate myself to keep playing, telling myself that this is one of those cool horror movie where you stuck in a nightmare loop that you keep starting over from the beginning after you die.

Anyways, this game starts off with this windowed 640x480 resolution(I think, because there is no menu to change the resolution or make it full screen). And when I maximize the window, it has white boarder around it. And you just can't minimize it back, the only way is to just quit the game by right clicking the icon on your taskbar.

This game is pretty dark for the most part, just hard to see anything. Most objects and even passages are very well hidden; of course there is no option or setting to change the brightness and contrast. The only thing that is not well hidden are those poster and CDs I saw in the game; and when you click on that, it will open up your browser to the soundtrack page of this game. Shameless, shameless plug.

You'd probably have more fun reading Wikipedia on the phrase, Paradigm Shift, what a waste of a fancy title on a game like this. And what a waste of time playing this.

Terrible point and click hidden item game with jump scares. Will not even play in fullscreen. Instantly kills you every time you make a wrong move. Avoid.

Why are developers so intent in creating the worst game ever. That is not something to strive.

This game doesn't cut it for me. I've finished it a few times and there isn't much to do. I've had three alternate endings and they were pretty poor. 3/10 for me. I'll try to play through it a bit more for more alternate endings but.. Not worth your monnies.

Lack of options, no full screen support, terrible animation scenes, Unoriginal gameplay. I didn't find this game to be worth 8 euros/10 dollars. There are much better point and click games out there. Some of the visuals are really creepy though.

I got it from greenlight bundle so I decided to give it a go.

First of all, no option menu. When you start the game, you'll be greeted with Start, More Game and Credit. You're not allowed to adjust any options for the game, including screen size and fullscreen option. Also note that there are no pause and save option. Also no Steam overlay, so cannot capture screenshot via Steam.

When you start the game, you'll get a letter then off you go.In the beginning you only have shotgun as weapon. Zombies will appear randomly and rely too much on jumpscare. Seriously cheap. To attack the zombies, you have to click on the shotgun icon on the inventory list on top of the screen then click on the zombie. Too slow, you die, restart from beginning.

During exploration, theres no indication on where to go. You just click on the screen then it will transit to next screen. No highlight making it hard to progress. There’s no horror feeling in this game.

Graphic just so-so. No animation involved, including zombies. They just come out of nowhere and start biting you without getting their mouth open and splashing blood on screen. Some of the images are creepy though, but nothing original.

Nothing impressive about this game at all. Plus, using jumpscare is cheap. Just another crap game from Greenlight.

At absolute best, this is one of the more mediocre Flash point-and-click "horror" games I've ever played - but, at best would be if it were free.

I got this in a bundle, which is great, because it isn't worth five dollars - it's barely worth the banner ad it would probably feature should it appear on your average Flash game site. The music is obnoxious and repetitive within under a minute of playing, the graphics are done in a "grainy" or "weathered" sort of style that seems designed to make finding anything a pixel hunt, the scares are jumpscares with lousy (or, really, non-existent) animation, and the "fighting" system, so far as I can tell, is simply a way to make sure that if you spend too long not finding anything (see above concerning pixel hunting) you'll get killed by a zombie as you've found yourself out of ways to defend yourself, which, at the very least, brings the music to an end.

This could, with some serious work, be a pretty cool typical Flash horror game, but the above problems all prevent that from being so - and, even if they were fixed, I can't honestly say I'd pay five bucks for it when numerous other similar games exist for free, and many of them far more compelling.

2/10 - would not not bang.

6 minutes. This game took me six minutes when I knew what to do.
If you don't know what to do, it's nearly impossible to complete. Unless you like pixel hunting, blindly clicking everywhere and repeating the game over and over again because of badly designed scenes, freaking jumpscares and uncountable deaths caused by moments when you don't have idea what to do.
Of course this game doesn't contain such incredible feature as save. In Paradigm Shift you win or you die. Or something.

Try playing Dead Frontier: Outbreak or Zafehouse: Diares, two similliar but much better games.
1/10

It's really terrible. It's just still screens, with point and click gameplay. Not much more than a flash game, although that isn't fair given some flash games can actually be somewhat fun to play. This is not one of those.

Animations are extremely basic, lots of flaws in the writing, and just overall this game is not fun. Definitely not worth the money, and only to be had if it's part of a bundle that contains games you actually want.

Stood in a hallway, trying to figure what to do. Got mauled by a zombie out of nowhere. Start all over.

Oh, and the bright side? I won this on GameMiner.ru, so I'm rather glad I didn't buy this.
