Like some mind-bending combination of MYST and every classic top-down RPG in history, the Escapists manages to blend heart pounding moments of adrenaline and reaction, with cerebral activities, in a well paced fashion.
Long and careful hours of scheming, conniving, poisoning, sabotaging, exploring, manipulating, and chipping away (literally) at your confinement, sit side by side with vicious scrums and scraps.
What makes this game so amazing is that it gives you the chance to live out that mental fantasy where you imagine that you could do a better job of breaking out of jail than any number of TV or Movie characters (or even real-life felons). Ironically for a game about being imprisoned, this game provides true freedom; Freedom to piece together your own unique plan of escape.
The game is quite robust in terms of replayability, very stable (no crashes or bugs so far in my playthroughs), and requires very little by way of system resources. It will, however, tax your brain, your wit, and your reflexes, in the best way.
