Easy mode and language update!

Hi spies!

Happy to announce a new update with some new features and improvements.

- NEW DIFFICULTY MODE

We heard that some people found the game a bit hard because this game IS hard. That's why we have added a new "normal" difficulty mode that keeps the game challenging and makes it more accessible for every kind of player.

Those who played the game in the original (harder) mode will keep the save with everything. New players will find that a few achievements are only achievable in hard mode.

- 4 NEW LANGUAGES

We just added 4 new languages: French, German, Italian and Spanish.

- SOME MINOR STUFF

We worked a bit on graphics, fixed some bugs and worked on optimization to make the experience cooler and smoother :)

Finally, a stealth game that rewards skill more than patience.
It's really polished. Definitely worth more than the price.
Each level has additional challenges. Very viable for speedrunning (keyboard has a disadvantage, though).
A great way to learn positions of the 4 buttons on the gamepad :|

Clever level design and a super cool main mechanic - like another reviewer I can't believe somebody hasnt come up with the idea before :)

Stealth with arcade precision timing and positioning gameplay.

I really liked this game! It is a mixture of puzzle and hardcore-ish execution based game of "trial and error" and mild mind♥♥♥♥ thrown here and there.

The premise is original and the gameplay is simple and feels polished. The controls works great. It is somehow challenging to some people for what I have read, but you should be able to plow through it in around 4 to 6 hours. My most favorite part by far is the Time challenge mode, where you will be ranked both globally and against your friends. It is fun to figure out ways to improve your time, and the level design in most levels is geared towards that goal. The same can be said for the additional ladybug and flies challenges, where you may have to take special detours and sort extra hurdles... I am not a big achievement guy, but they're there and they add to the replayability.

All in all, a very nice game with some ingenious level designs, cool music and overall a fun experience. Give it a try!

Spy Chameleon is a cheap and fun puzzle-stealth to play. The look is vibrant and fun, the difficulty scales fairly, and the controls are straight-forward. Although you have to be careful to not be a loosey goosey with moving, because you can easily waltz right into being spotted. For example: there are paint buckets you can knock over to have on-the-spot blending in, but the "hitbox" of the paint spatters are relatively small and you can easily mess up (no pun intended) because of it. And while I don't play with a game controller, I imagine having color-coordinated buttons to change color would be better than the horizontal key changes.

Overall, if you're on any kind of extended break from university or work and have time to spare, it's great fun.

This game was a fun diversion. Some of the later levels were a bit more DIAS (Do It Again Stupid) for my tastes, but other then those handful of levels I quite enjoyed playing this. It's a top-down stealth game where the fun trick is you're a chameleon, so if the ground is red, blue, green or yellow then you can hide from enemies and cameras by changing to that color. I thought they did a very good job exploring that basic concept using several different mechanics. Yes, it does have a box you can hide in to avoid notice when not moving :-). My least favorite part was in the later levels when they had movable walls. Those seemed to be too twitchy for me. However overall I quite enjoyed the game.

Hard and challenging game, but fair and fun.
Your task is simple - get to the exit. The problem is the execution :P You have to use Chameleon's ability to change colors and blend in. You have to hide behind things to avoid detection. You have to distract your enemies to slip past. You have to time things right. Timing IS important. There are collectibles and they are fun to grab - not easy, not impossible, sometimes hard. This is a perfect game for me to hate, but it's not. It was saved by one feature - mid-level checkpoints. Without those I would not enjoy it and started hating the game. Thankfully chekcpoints are present, and even though game is really hard at times, it's still fun.
Graphics is good, so is music and sound. Controls leave a bit to desire - you can't remap things - shame. Speedrunning lovers have a separate speedrun mode. Developer has recenlty released an update containing an easier difficulty and a few more languages.
If you like stealth (yep, that's a stealth game), you have a knack for timing then this game is a good choice.

This is a fun puzzle game, where you have to sneak around obstacles and use the Chameleon's ability to blend into the environment. It looks good at 1080 and controller support is done well. Overall, it's not the best game ever, but it is fun. Pick it up if you see it cheap or in a bundle.

good concept and it's fun, however, not having the ability to change controlls needs to be addressed.

Comfy, great music and design. Perfect for playing when you have small amout of time between other games or for quick relaxation. It does have somewhat slow level curve and doesn't have control settings but personally found default perfect.

This game is very fun. I've played this game for about three hours to complete all the 75 levels on normal mode. I aso plan to go back for another few hours to go and collect all of the flies, ladybugs, and time challenges. Can't wait to play the second one.

I 100%ed this game; got all of the achevements.

Perfect game in it's genre, 2d top view line of sight stealth action. You will love this if you love love 2d stealth games such as: Monaco, Commando's series, Mark of the Ninja; honorable mention: Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2.

Yes, it's hard, but that's the point. It's not cheap. Not quite as difficult as Super Meat Boy, but often requires tenth of a second timing. No load times and plenty of waypoints.

Looks great, has a fun soundtrack.

Worth at least double what they are asking for.

Amazing puzzle game. Its better than portal 2(which I like as well) in terms of fast pace puzzle games.

It is fairly difficult so I can see why some people wouldn't like it.

The only issue I have is that I am color blind and the yellow and green can sometimes be difficult to see the difference.

73/75 levels beat. If I can do it anyone can as I am not the greatest at twitch puzzle games.

Cool game!

The colour change mechanics are well thought, easy to learn and nicely distributed across levels, which creates some very interesting puzzles (I've enjoyed how the progressive addition of new features prevents it from becoming too repetitive, too). Also, the extended mission goals (find the ladybugs, speed run,...) help to add some challenge for completionists and definitely enhance replayability. In some levels the additional goals may create some frustration as they rely heavily on timing and/or location, but since you clearly feel how you get better with each try until you eventually reach the solution to those harder puzzles, that actually encourages you to keep playing. I admit that this is a matter of personal preference, but so far with me it's worked that way.

Even though gameplay is the strongest point for me, visuals work nicely, too, I love the chameleon design. Oh, and the "mission fail" screens are hilarious :D
