✓ You need only left + right buttons
✓ Multiple procedurally generated levels
✓ Different stages in a level
✓ Nice bright colors
✓ Awesome soundtrack

Sounds familiar, huh? Now even better:

✓ Multiple endless modes
✓ LOCAL CO-OP for every mode
✓ Death counter

TL;DR Super Hexagon with local co-op and more awesome stuff.

Pivvot is a fantastic strategic avoidance game in the likes of Super Hexagon or Boson-X.

It's easy to get sucked into the fantastic music and smooth gameplay, as you spin and dodge various obstacles. It also holds numerous ways of playing it, so it's balanced for all levels of expertise. It's one of those games that you'll be spending hours upong hours playing, without noticing so much time has passed.

I wrote a review on the mobile version a while ago (http://www.80pgaming.com/content/2013/10/30/pivvot-review) and this version is even better with the addition of Looper mode, the Random Endless modes and local multiplayer. It's accessible, difficult to master and an all-around good time. I recommend getting the soundtrack too; the music is absolutely amazing.

Buy a copy, get your friends to buy copies, then try to beat their scores. Good times had by all.

Feels a lot like Super Hexagon.
  • Frantic
  • The same controls (just rotation with 2 buttons)
  • The same league of difficulty (achievements are probably more difficult)
  • Levels are random, but consist of predefined elements
  • Completion based on time
  • Has endless modes
  • Simplistic, interesting graphics
  • Amazing soundtrack
This game, however, has a kind of a practice mode that can be enjoyed by almost everyone. It is slower and has checkpoints.
What saddens me, though, is there are only 2 sets of obstacles. There are some additional game modes that reuse those sets, and other modes that are just random, luck-based and lame.

★★★★★★★★☆☆

One word - AMAZING! I just played the first part of the game, and I already feel it's worth the money, and not to mention time. Gameplay is simple (just move right and left), but cunningly difficult at the same time. There are a ton of obstacles, and the first mode introduces them to you in a really good fashion.

Add to the fact the game has a great audiovisual design. Backgrounds switch color well, and it just looks good on the eyes. Soundtrack is also quality stuff, alternating with the mood of the game.

I've really just played for 15 mins or so yet, but consider that within this short period of time I can say with confidence Pivvot is a great game. Especially for twitch gamers and those who love hardcore stuff in general. Reminds me a bit of Super Hexagon here, but with infinitely tighter controls and a more pleasing visual aesthetic.

+ Easy to learn, difficult to master
+ Good graphics
+ Checkpoints
+ Plenty of ways to keep you on your toes

- How long before it becomes boring, repetitive or frustrating?
- Besides skills you also need luck because the objects appear in random order
- Camera can be confusing/disorienting

[Rating: 73/100]

Pivvot is a really great iOS and Android game that has been ported to Steam. The game strategic avoidance game is easy to control with keyboard or mouse. New obstacles are introduced at regular intervals. The soundtrack is awesome and the game gets pretty hard later on. Easily worth it.

Pivvot makes me cry the kind of tears only Super Hexagon can pull out of me. The concept seems simple enough until you get to the looper mode, then you repeat it until you realise that you're crouching in your computer chair, slowly rocking yourself into a fetal position.

11/10, would recommend. Catchy music, addictive gameplay.

The most unique and addictive game I've ever played so far!

I love how easy and fun the gameplay is and how the music changes in game. It kinda reminds me Audiosurf, the more you play the more addictive this game will get. Wish there are more soundtracks and would be awesome if you could use your own music in this game. but from me:

10/10 Game :)

Used to have it on my cellphone, decided to get it on Steam for more comfortable controls.
Then I "cleared" everything up to Berserk game mode.
And now I feel great, knowing I once survived 52s in there. Damn, this game.

If you like this kind of indie games, where you just need to do one single action, Pivvot is made for you.

Once you learn how each form works, it's a bit easier to get a good score. But still, the game will go faster and faster so you'll end up dying. It's so easy to restart that you'll restart and try to beat your score again. So addictive!! You won't quit the game until you have a good score, trust me :D

I really like the endless mode, as well as Berserk and Looper. But damn, Berserk is so damn hard.

Pivvot includes awesome music with fast-sadistic gameplay.
Like in Super Hexagon etc. the point of the game is to avoid some obstacles. Sounds easy? The thing is that those obstacles get harder and the game faster and faster. Some of those are really frustrating, when you're quite bad at this xD
Tip for later: Change your sensitivity to get better at faster gamemodes.
Another good thing is that there are 8 different gamemodes and a co-op mode, so when your friends like to play non-sense, fast, dodge, reaction, colourful, music games, grab them some copies and start to play :P

I don't regret that I bought this game.
Recommended! ^^

Similar to Super Hexagon in presentation and gameplay, though a lot easier. I had fun with this, but you would probably get more use out of it if you played it on your mobile phone instead of PC.
