To say that Pivvot is hard is an understatement. It is literally impossible to get a good score, nuff said.

A fun and challenging fast paced indie game. Basically your ball runs along a rail and you either use left or right clicks to rotate your ball in order to dodge incoming obstacles. You only get a small window of opportunity to look at the obstacle ahead and decide which way you need to rotate which is very fun and keeps you on the edge of your seat, not to mention as you get further into a level the obstacles always change so you can never get used to dodging just one type of obstacle. The game has a decent amount of levels and an absolutely amazing soundtrack. If you're into games like oO, super hexagon and the impossible game then you're going to love this. Great game to pick up and add to your indie collection.

Neat little distraction.

I would recommed it if it were only Voyage and Expert Voyage modes, but strangely, the additional modes detract from the experience. In the random modes, there are too many instances where it's not possible for you to either move with the minor adjustment necessary, and if you lower the sensitivity, you aren't fast enough. It feels like the game decides whether you make it or don't, and that really sucks the fun out of it. Sadly, also takes away the feeling of accomplishment that the other modes have instilled, because you then realize it wasn't your reaction time that achived victory: it was designed to flow properly.

Pivvoting is to move in a controlled point. So theres two parts imagine a stick, one side is nailed into the ground unable to move, the other side is able to move freely but only is a controlled manner to the nailed in part. So imagine a circle
______
/ \
| | <---- Nailed end of the stick
\______ /

|__| <--- Free end of the stick
So the free end of the stick will only be able to move left or right on a fixed angle so lets say its 180 degrees, So the stick will only be able to move like this...
______
/ \___________________________________
| |___________________________________|
\______/
So it would only be allowed to move this way or the other way. it would not be able to move up and down as in it goes from 180 degress to 0 or 90 degrees.

Pivvot is an addicting score-attack game with an excellent soundtrack. There's not much content to speak of, but there is a decent variety of game modes to check out. Every mode is centered around dodging obstacles and staying alive for as long as you can, but each of them have slightly different objectives.

The Voyage mode(s) focus on reaching the end of a series of increasingly difficult obstacles. There's checkpoints along the way, but you're encouraged to reach the end without dying once, which will net you 2 of the game's 8 achievements (if you can manage the daunting Expert Voyage without dying of frustration). The Endless modes task you with staying alive for as long as possible while random combinations of hurdles are thrown at you at breakneck speeds.

There's one other game mode here that wasn't included in the iOS version of this game, which is called 'Looper', which is all about making complete loops while dodging projectiles that spawn in at frighteningly high intervals. It's undeniably the most difficult mode in the game, but still very addicting nonetheless.

If you enjoyed Super Hexagon ( or arcade score-attack games in general), Pivvot is an essential purchase. It's incredibly compelling, and very hard to put down once you start playing. There's also local co-op, which is nice.

Way too short game where you can pivot left or right of a line avoiding obstacles as a circle. The controls are the mouse buttons and it's impossible to fine-tune it (a click already pivots quite some distance). At the same time the game is much too easy, only the expert mode is mildly challenging. Runs well on linux.

Can unfortunately not recommend, there are better executed free flash games.

That game can annoy you a little but it's not like you will rage.
I never thought that the offline-multiplayer-modus (playing with friends or siblings on 1 computer) can be that much fun :D. You can revive your mate if he "dies" and the other way around.

I'd recommend it if you want to play a game
- for offline-multiplayer fun and
- for a game you can play from time to time or while waiting for something,.. (no story parts, no addiction in my eyes)

✓ You need only left + right buttons
✓ Multiple procedurally generated levels
✓ Different stages in a level
✓ Nice bright colors
✓ Awesome soundtrack

Sounds familiar, huh? Now even better:

✓ Multiple endless modes
✓ LOCAL CO-OP for every mode
✓ Death counter

TL;DR Super Hexagon with local co-op and more awesome stuff.

Feels a lot like Super Hexagon.
 • Frantic
 • The same controls (just rotation with 2 buttons)
 • The same league of difficulty (achievements are probably more difficult)
 • Levels are random, but consist of predefined elements
 • Completion based on time
 • Has endless modes
 • Simplistic, interesting graphics
 • Amazing soundtrack
This game, however, has a kind of a practice mode that can be enjoyed by almost everyone. It is slower and has checkpoints.
What saddens me, though, is there are only 2 sets of obstacles. There are some additional game modes that reuse those sets, and other modes that are just random, luck-based and lame.

Pivvot is a fantastic strategic avoidance game in the likes of Super Hexagon or Boson-X.

It's easy to get sucked into the fantastic music and smooth gameplay, as you spin and dodge various obstacles. It also holds numerous ways of playing it, so it's balanced for all levels of expertise. It's one of those games that you'll be spending hours upong hours playing, without noticing so much time has passed.

I wrote a review on the mobile version a while ago (http://www.80pgaming.com/content/2013/10/30/pivvot-review) and this version is even better with the addition of Looper mode, the Random Endless modes and local multiplayer. It's accessible, difficult to master and an all-around good time. I recommend getting the soundtrack too; the music is absolutely amazing.

Buy a copy, get your friends to buy copies, then try to beat their scores. Good times had by all.

+ Easy to learn, difficult to master
+ Good graphics
+ Checkpoints
+ Plenty of ways to keep you on your toes

- How long before it becomes boring, repetitive or frustrating?
- Besides skills you also need luck because the objects appear in random order
- Camera can be confusing/disorienting

Pivvot makes me cry the kind of tears only Super Hexagon can pull out of me. The concept seems simple enough until you get to the looper mode, then you repeat it until you realise that you're crouching in your computer chair, slowly rocking yourself into a fetal position.

11/10, would recommend. Catchy music, addictive gameplay.

This is a great little game with a very simple premise, you rotate a little circle to avoid obstacles. It all sounds nice and straightforward and indeed the first voyage breaks you in gently with simple obstacles to build up your confidence.

DO NOT BE DECEIVED.

By the time you reach the expert voyage you will have worked out 3 things.

1) Digital input requires very precise timing.
2) The developers hate you (I can only assume a traumatic incident in a geometry class).
3) You definitely aren't coming back to beat that high score...at least not for the next half hour.

The game is a lot of fun when you hit the zone but be prepared for frustration along the way.

The most unique and addictive game I've ever played so far!

I love how easy and fun the gameplay is and how the music changes in game. It kinda reminds me Audiosurf, the more you play the more addictive this game will get. Wish there are more soundtracks and would be awesome if you could use your own music in this game. but from me:

10/10 Game :)

Deceptively simple game, but it excels at killing you. Good for some time killing for a bit. I wish that there was a neutral rating on here, as I would give it that. Nothing that stands out, just a fun simple game. Buy it if it's on sale, but not at full price is my advice.
