Multiplayer-only game no one's playing and never really played. See for yourself:
Cult of the Wind spent two months in Early Access - didn't change much during that time. What you get is 'released' title in unpolished state which due to level of developer's incompetence is dead on arrival. North of Earth (dev) failed to build game and any interest around it. As result there was no fanbase to begin with and there isn't any playerbase at the time of writing.
There is just one official server up and running. Empty. All four maps were designed for 16 players. All-time peak so far had 9 players in the game at the same time with no guarantee they all actually played and were doing so on the same server. Two or three times I managed to find another player after a while but selected maps were just incapable to provide enjoyable experience for teams of one (and after checking the rest of them, there is not a single map capable to do so with so few people online). Beside, gameplay and the whole idea behind it lacks polish.
'Character customisation' actually means three hats, two outfits and two accessories to choose from without even an option to remove any of them after selecting. You can either switch them or create new build/character if you want it to not wear a hat or something else you already picked up. Does it sound thought-out?
There are very few sound effects and I wouldn't describe any of them as great. Nor 'weird', or 'funny-weird'. The engine's sound following you whenever you move is actually quite annoying, I might add. There are no weapon effects. If you're shooting a machine gun, there are no bullets flying around. If you launch a rocket, you won't see it or any kind of explosion after hitting anything... It's really dull. Plus, I think that with more players there would be no chance to have any combat awereness and what's actually going on around. This game had potential to become something silly and fun like Battlefield Heroes maybe but the dev couldn't realise it.
Oh, if you stand still and shoot, your arms will stay in normal position with hands close to your body, shaking - it looks like you were having an epileptic attack. I find it... disturbing. There are no tutorials or any descriptions which pick up does what either. There is just not a single aspect that gives a feeling of being finished.
With 15 Euros as asking price it feels like a deliberate scam - developer just trying to get any cash while he still can for something not ready for release by any means... this game just joined the long list of dead multiplayer titles available on Steam such as Blacklight Tango Down, Section 8, Stellar Impact, Gun Monkeys and so on due to developer's lack of care. Maybe some folks will show up when the game inevitably lands in another bundle (it was already part of Indie Gala while it was still in EA - less than 2$ total for this and few other games) but I doubt they'll stick around.
Not when month after release the game didn't receive a single update.
Edit: Also, it looks extremely fishy when someone friends with the developer who has only games of that particular developer writes positive review right after the game is released on Early Access:http://imgur.com/SreIWDx
