Wow. Easily a top 5 worst game I own. Probably the worst one I've actually completed. Terrible Amnesia mod looking graphics, an idiotic story, and amusingly bad writing = this game is the cr@p fest total package. Cherry on top - the dev banned me on the forums within minutes of posting about how bad the game is. Such garbage I'm half tempted to give this a thumbs up instead.

A really amateurish effort that feels like a poorly made mod. The game starts out as a mediocre atmospheric horror game and devolves into a horrid FPS. It feels like the devs were running out of ideas or weren't really sure where to go after the fourth level. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

Overcast : Walden and the Werewolf is a Western Survival Horror game.
You are Walden, an old hunter who lives alone in the woods, without any connection with the society, making nature his only form of livelihood. Walden began to be haunted by a mysterious creature that destroyed the village located near his cabin, killing every person residing on the premises. Now, Walden wants revenge.
Overcast is played in the first person, with your left hand perpetually holding a lantern and your right holding your useless weapon. Throughout the games nine chapters, which takes around 1 hour to finish, you guide Walden around as he solves extremely easy puzzles and shoots werewolves and other evil creatures. The game controls work well enough, with the exception of climbing ladders.
The graphics are extremely poor, besides of the annoying film grain that is overlaying the screen and impossible to turn off.
There is no voice acting, the story is told by the use of text phrases.
The only noteworthy aspect of this game, would be the music. The soundtrack is well done and serve as a nice background.
Overcast : Walden and the Werewolf is no horror game at all, it is an extremely poor game in nearly every sense. Unoriginal concepts, poor graphics and most importantly the game play is just no fun at all.
It is a waste of time and of money. My advice: Hands away!

Sounds 5/10
Graphics 2/10
Gameplay 2/10
Atmosphere 1/10

Honestly, taking into account that it's a one dev's work, and, i presume, the first one of his, i'd like to give this game a thumbs up. But feels like it just wouldn't be right, and not recommending it is sure to save many players from dissapointment and the dev himself from offensive comments.
Though i can recommend it to those who like getting themselves in some new surroundings to walk through another short and primitive story and have little care for how bad them both were thought out. You'd even find a little pretty scenery(if you like that kind of it), slightly scary for noobs visual and sound effects and maybe a couple of other good things. But it won't add enough to make the whole game damn good. Can't say i'm totally dissapointed but looks like screenshots and description on the steam store leave much better impression than the game itself. And everything i relatively liked in this game was getting heavily damaged all the way by the boring combat, based on the idea to kill me twice an episode or a couple times more by primitive logical traps in how it was going on, and almost killed by the ending which was either(i'm sorry, mr developer) stupid or far beyond the limits of my ability to perceive why the hell it had to be ended that way, looking like a text description of a bad movie's promice to be continued(i'd even speculate that's what it is or once had to be).
There was a slight hope for an alternate course of the game story, (here goes a spoiler on a game story event): screaming woman, found dead in my playthroughwhich i don't believe in and don't feel like gonna check it right away i finish typing this. Maybe later.
Combat would be much better with twice faster reloading (compensated with additional enemies) and maybe an option to bash the enemies getting up close with the rifle's butt. A faster reload would also allow to leave the werewolf chazing the player in first contact without lingering on spot when animation shows he's running, which, i suspect was made with a purpose to grant the player a chance to survive with that slow reload.
To say more good about the game - it doesn't take too much time to play through and has no bugs - i only spotted a bot getting stuck against something he had to go round to attack me, twice at the same place.
Buy it on sale, if you're planning to give this game a try.

I've played the game's alpha and hoped that something had changed for the better. Well, the stage were you have to run from the werewolf has actually improved, but everything else is just bad.
Instead of a horror game I received a horrible first person shooter were you have to reload after every single shot.
And the worst part is that most of the stages after the ones that were in the alpha consist of shooting.
There was a "run through corridors and kill some spioders"-stage or a "run in circles around a room and kill some spiders"-stage and a "run through a graveyard and kill spiders and skeletons"-stage and of course "defeat enemy hordes and die a couple of times"-stage.

And despite the fact that the story is nearly non-existant the final stage seems to claim otherwise and actually throws a deus ex machina cliffhanger at you. Sorry, but I'm not interested in how the story pans out! Especially not because the developers delete negative feedback on the forums.
