Pressured is a clever little indie puzzle game by Paul Marrable. I really like it, even though it makes me feel like an idiot sometimes [most the time], especially when the pressure meter starts shaking and I start panic-clicking and failing. (DONT PANIC)

The base concept is actually pretty neat. There are "TV" Screens you need to click on that have numbers on them. Each level has a randomly generated target number that you need to get to a certain number of times (Let's say the number is 10). You can do 4+6, 9+1, 5+4+1, etc. But be careful, the screens rotate pretty quick, and the more clicks you take, the more points it takes away from you in the end. The higher the level is, the higher the number is, and the less time you have (or the more time I spend thinking, I'm not sure).

A couple tips-
*Read the tips at the bottom of the main screen. I didn't, jumped right into the gameplay and immediately failed. Like, read the tutorial.
*Speaking of, The tutorial is immensely helpful. And even so, you still may take a few tries before you get the hang of it.
*A few levels into easy, and you'll unlock normal.
*If your score is misbehaving and you need to reset it, you can click a bomb. I've noticed that this likes to push all the TV panels to lower numbers too.
*The unlocks are meant to be read in order, but are not unlocked in order.
*I find for the first level if the sum is greater than 10 it always seems to be a bit more of a struggle, and makes the ensuing levels a little more difficult. If it is 10 or less that first level is a breeze.
*If you find yourself still struggling, head back to easy for practice, the timer is more forgiving, but the TV screens seem to go the same rate.
*The longer you play, the more number associations you make, and the better you get.

I think the poetry unlocks that create a story are a nice addition, and give you something to strive for instead of just a high score. It makes Pressured more than 'just a puzzle game'. I think it's quirky, and has unique qualities that make it stand out. I recommend Pressured and say it is worth the price point, on sale or not. Also, that song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day...week...year... ><

As someone who is not very quick on their feet with the maths, you'd think I would hate an experience like this - but that is absolutely not the case. The music, the art, and the general vibe all come together to form something very special (and the unlocks are just the icing on an already very tasty cake).

Something interesting developed as I played - I got to see what sort of numbers, or sums, I was more mentally inclined to "solve", and which ones I tended to have a harder time with. It's a rare treat that you get to play a game that shows you exactly how your brain is wired in certain ways. So, you could also look at this as a chance to improve something mentally - to raise your own average by tackling something you might not be so good at - and that is AWESOME.

This game is a steal for the price of a coffee drink, and unlike said beverage, you get to keep this forever and ever!

This is a fantastic little game and proves to be WAY bigger in depth and challange than the meager price would suggest! Don't let the prospect of a number puzzler scare you away, this game is fun to play and incredibly accessible - even to math-deficient types like me! The incremental difficulty and poetry unlocks create an intense but rewarding experience. The inclusion of Steam trading cards is icing on this very affordable cake. Highly recommended!

Took a punt on this because it was cheap and looked interesting.

Glad I did, really fun little game.
Really simple premise but really damn addictive!

I think it's well worth the meagre price tag.

Pressured is a deliciously addictive mathematical puzzle game. The premise is simple - add the numbers on the grid together to match the target number. Easy enough at first but you have to be quick because the numbers you need fade in and out, bombs appear instead of numbers and you are not allowed to use the same sums twice, all the while the clock is ticking! What makes Pressured so addictive though is the arithmetic required is pretty basic but the targets get larger and larger and larger, which means you'll need more and more numbers in your sums then throw some multipliers in... it'll test your limits! It's a killer combination of fast reflexes, quick thinking and of course a bit of luck that'll keep you coming back for more. Move over Sudoku, there is a new kid on the block!

The premise is simple, imagine a Countdown conundrum, you know, where Carol pulls out a stack of numbers and then tells you you have to calculate an even bigger number. Imagine that, only with numbers that are constantly changing, bombs that appear out of no-where when you're about to click to finish a sum, and a pressure gauge constantly filling up and causing no- end of stress.
In practice, it's involving, addictive, and a bit difficult to put down. Pressured puts you under pressure, but in a nice way, and definitely in a way that you'll come back to again and again.

I'm a sucker for math games, and I love puzzle games: Pressured scratches both those itches in one swoop. I give Pressured a big thumbs up for anyone looking for a game that requires a bit of brain power. It's only a couple bucks, which is a decent investment since it's probably going to take the average gamer around 2-3+ hours to really get the hang of NOT blowing up before unlocking the story (poetry).

It's really refreshing to see thoughtful game design that makes you do something a bit different. The play off between the cerebral maths and the frantic twitch gaming is genius (And something Paul Marrable is becoming the master of). Give it a chance and don't expect it to be like other matching games.

Solid proof that when you are pressured, you are suddenly good at math.
So carry on doing your caffeine-induced homework frenzy at 3AM the morning on the day it is due.

I been playing this game for a while. I know the author and I had the pleasure to test a tid-bit of the game before it was ready to publish. Right now, after the official publishment, I still have the same feeling of "retro days". I really adored the game's art design, the game concept, etc. The small issues I had encountered before are all gone.

It really worth's the name Pressure, that's exactly what I feel by each sum done; I'm terrible at math and I'm sure many out there are also, so this game will be a challenge for many, and who doesn't love challenges at games?!

It's simple, It's challenging, It's well done. Buy it!

Some thing deeper going on under the hood here, what outwardly is a fun little maths/brain training puzzler turns into something alot darker as you unlock more of the poetry.

I guess in the future (with a bigger budget) this could be pushed alot futher, to "Pye"(Darren Aronofsky) levels, full on Megacd quality cutscenes!!

English rewiev:

I hate math. Seeing this game, I realized that this is not my game. However, as it is cheap I bought her to me for a joke. I've been tightened. Round after round.....harder.....more and more interesting.....

The essence of the game is very simple and at the same time, the game makes a quick read and think.

There is a thermometer in the right part of the screen and a lot chaotically changing numbers, multiplications and other things on the screen. You need to collect a few times you want the number until a thermometer is not overheated. Every good number cools the thermometer.

In the game a relaxing and thought-provoking, sauntrek and I like it

Who loves math and relaxing puzzle will appreciate this game

Overview written 20.07.2014

This is a fast-paced "Add-em-up" puzzle experience. If you need to wake up in a hurry, you'll find this game equal to 3 cups of coffee and a cold shower. Make sure to have a non-slip mousepad before diving into this wild clickfest.

The premise of Pressured is simple but relatively hard to master. In each level, you are assigned a target number. Your goal is to click on numbers that add up to that target number before the pressure meter fills up. As you click on numbers, your current sum is shown on the top of the screen so that you can keep track of how far off from the target number you are. On the bottom of the screen, you'll be advised as to how many times you need to reach your target number before advancing to the next level. Each time you successful reach the target, some pressure is relieved, in essence, adding more time to complete the level. Easy peasy, right? NOPE! The grid where the numbers are located is constantly shifting. Numbers flash on the screen for no more than a second before new numbers appear, bombs randomly appear (resetting your sum to 0) , and a "2X" symbol occasionally pops up (doubling your current sum). Points are earned for each correct target hit and points are lost for hitting bombs or going over the target number. You will need to stay sharp or you will fall to the pressure!

It's insanely addicting and an intruiging game. The game is meant to a quick burst of action but you will find yourself trying to best your score after every game. And for under $3 USD, you can't go wrong!

i can't read half of what's in this monstrosity. it's supposed to be about quickly identifying numbers and i can't read the most important ones because the developer is apparently a man stuck in the year 1997 designing angelfire websites with illegible fonts and interface elements that he thinks he looks stylish

I was hoping for a math-related puzzle game.

I got an extremely fast-paced arithmetic exercise that would not have been out of place in my second-grade math class. While I suppose this does technically fit the above criteria, it was certainly not what I was looking for.

Pressured is are simple but "brain wake up" game.
I recommend.

Pressured - простая игра-головоломка.
Отлично подходит для того, чтобы размять мозги.
