About This Game

The Witcher: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, next-generation open world role-playing game set in a visually stunning fantasy universe full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher you play as the professional monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast open world rich with merchant cities, viking pirate islands, dangerous mountain passes, and forgotten caverns to explore.

PLAY AS A HIGHLY TRAINED MONSTER SLAYER FOR HIRE
Trained from early childhood and mutated to gain superhuman skills, strength and reflexes, witchers are a distrusted counterbalance to the monster-infested world in which they live.
  • Gruesomely destroy foes as a professional monster hunter armed with a range of upgradeable weapons, mutating potions and combat magic.
  • Hunt down a wide range of exotic monsters from savage beasts prowling the mountain passes to cunning supernatural predators lurking in the shadows of densely populated towns.
  • Invest your rewards to upgrade your weaponry and buy custom armour, or spend them away in horse races, card games, fist fighting, and other pleasures the night brings.

EXPLORE A MORALLY INDIFFERENT FANTASY OPEN WORLD
Built for endless adventure, the massive open world of The  Witcher sets new standards in terms of size, depth and complexity.
  • Traverse a fantastical open world: explore forgotten ruins, caves and shipwrecks, trade with merchants and dwarven smiths in cities, and hunt across the open plains, mountains and seas.
  • Deal with treasonous generals, devious witches and corrupt royalty to provide dark and dangerous services.
  • Make choices that go beyond good & evil, and face their far-reaching consequences.

CHASE DOWN THE CHILD OF PROPHECY
Take on the most important contract to track down the child of prophecy, a key to save or destroy this world.
  • In times of war, chase down the child of prophecy, a living weapon of power, foretold by ancient elven legends.
  • Struggle against ferocious rulers, spirits of the wilds and even a threat from beyond the veil – all hell-bent on controlling this world.
  • Define your destiny in a world that may not be worth saving.

FULLY REALIZED NEXT GENERATION
  • Built exclusively for next generation hardware, the REDengine 3 renders the world of The Witcher visually nuanced and organic, a real true to life fantasy.
  • Dynamic weather systems and day/night cycles affect how the citizens of the towns and the monsters of the wilds behave.
  • Rich with storyline choices in both main and subplots, this grand open world is influenced by the player unlike ever before.

This is one of the greatest games I have played in a very long time. Everyone should throw their money at Projekt Red and play this game immediately. Hours of interesting quests, gameplay, and exploration. A superb storyline with moraly ambiguous choices and characters with depth. This doesn't even come close to putting into words my feelings for how much I love this game.

The only reasons why you souldn't buy this game:
1. You're blind and therefore unable to play.
2. You're of an age or dispostion where sex, violence, and just overall bad people would damage your delicate sensibilities.
3. You've got something against open world rpg's.

Played every single quest and Completed Hearts of Stone, amazing game, absolutely fantastic graphics, voice, music, writing and gameplay -- the dlc was also excellent quality, cant wait for Blood And Wine!

Do Reccomend, 9/10, get a good computer first though, the graphics are insanely good when maximized.

I like this game very much. The plot is diverse . The characters are well developed . The graphical presentation together with the representation of nature in all its colors is awesome ! So much playing time I don't know from any other game . And not an hour of it was even a bit boring .
If you like RPGs in medieval style with monsters and magic , you need this game play !

Perhaps the fighting could be a little more diverse. But I don't want to say something more negative to this great work .

The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt - *No Spoilers*
It has been a long time since I have played a game excessively however since I purchased this game I have played it none stop. The Witcher 3 really does put other games to shame and sets an example of which I wish other games would follow.

The Main Story
-The main story of this game is the best I have played to date, not only is it gripping but it also manages to give some back story from the other two games, something I was worried about been that I have never played the other two. But a sufficient amount of back story was given for me to make sense of Geralts relationship with some of the characters. It took me approximately 44 hours to complete the main quests although I know it has taken other people longer. The main story has three different endings what will be decided by the choices you make throughout the game.

Side Quests
-Even in the side quests you are able to see the amount of effort and detail that has been put into them. Each side quest has it's own story to tell and many of them take a considerable amount of time to complete. In addition to this these are not your typical go fetch or go kill quests each of them are unique to one another and tell there own story. If you prefer the more typical kill this and kill that type of thing to get your XP up then another option is availible in the form of "Witcher Contracts".

DLC
The Witcher® 3: Wild Hunt offers a lot of add-ons at no extra cost. This was a major positive to me since most games today charge fees for such content. The free DLC includes, quests, alternative looks for characters and armor. There are two paid DLC's avalible one of which is yet to be released but if they are anything as good as the game then i'm sure they will be well worth the price.

Summary
-Despite finishing the game i'm going to complete every side quest and witcher contract I can because this game is something which should be enjoyed in every possible aspect because of the amount of detail that has been put into every nook and cranny. - I don't see myself completing everything any time soon as I spent over an hour doing a singular secondary quest.
-If you are someone looking for a game to really sink your teeth into then this is it.

-Great visuals
-Gripping story
-Everything in the game has had an amazing amount of detail put into it
-Free DLC
-Plenty of things to do once you have completed the game
-Almost an endless amount of hours worth of gameplay
-More DLC on the way

Wow...what a fantastic and epic journey this was. I never played TW1 yet, but I played The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings few years ago and so I was waiting for this last part excitingly with my brother for months last year.

But I finally managed to finish TW3... after about 10-11 months haha :D, first buying it for PS4 in last May I think and later for Steam. It took me a while because of couple reasons, like too little time, burnout by open world games and MGSV hype. Some might think TW3 is too long as a game and I did too at first. Actually I have often liked more linear and shorter games. But anyway, it's one hell of a amazing game, that you should spend time with and enjoy the story and world, not trying to rush it.

The Witcher 3 is indeed a damn long game, perhaps the longest I've played from start to finish, and I still haven't played the DLC. Especially if try complete most of the side quests like I did, takes hella lot of time. I admit that I didn't explore every place and skipped some sidequests like gwents, some horse races and some treasure hunts.
It sure is worth your time investment to reach the end, will give the feels. Once you spend hours and hours going through the story and you finally reach those certain big moments you've waited for... they will feel emotional. I've heard it has a lot of different endings and the one I got made me shed tears of joy :).

CD Projekt RED managed to elevate open-world and RPG into a whole another level in my opinion. I don't think I've seen so much detail added to side quests either, which alone is one great achievement. They're all done so well and they actually feel interesting. Hunting monsters is great. The way the forests move in wind is incredible, the weather changes too...just beautiful.

The story, world, characters, combat, voice acting, graphics are all fantastic. And music...that beautiful music is mindblowing. The voice acting is also some of the best I have ever heard, there is such a huge amount of it and makes the characters feel very real. The choice making is great and the outcome of what you chose, might not be always what you wanted in the end.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is definitely one of the best games and RPGs I've ever played. A must have for anyone who desires to experience an epic dark fantasy story.

I may be the oldest person witting a review for this game (turn 63 in July, 2016).
I am a scientist, professor (PhD), as well as a lobbyist in the USA...as well as a working professional musician. Yes, web ware developer as well...but not in gaming (tele-health).
The politics, the physics, storyline, emotions, visuals, and music score hit every mark that can be made in a game.
Sure, one could argue, you can't create or modify your own character like in Skyrim or other RPGs, Fair enough, and I suppose if you are a female, that could put you off--but in TW3, you get to play a female character as well. Brilliant solution to the gender bias paradox.
On the other side of the coin as well as the edges of the coin--I don't know what other game can compare with the reality of the choices you make in a game. It is the closest thing to real life I've ever experienced in a game. Enough has been written about the graphics, story line, etc... What make this game unique is that choices matter, little is linear, and one can replay the game, as I did, increasing the level of difficulty each time. I wish I could make more different choices....but I'm such an ethical and loyal smuck that every time I play I reject Yen, hook up again with Triss, kill Rad, don't kill the "paint" Troll, I look after Ciri's interest, etc. Every time! I always get a "good" although arguably not sure any endings are the 'best'. Just the fact that the game has more than 3 or 4 endings (thinking Mass Effect) or just one ending (Skyrim) makes this as close to real life as any game I've ever played.
I'd recommending buying the game, but with a caveat--it may take up to much of your time and compromise your real life. But depending on your life, it may not be a bad alternative...I play it to take my mind off of other projects and it is significantly effacatious in that regard.
;P
Enjoy!

I just finished part one and in it for 117 hours. Never seen anything this big and good so far. The story is epic and the world you're playing in mindblowing. Lots and lots and lots of things to do. Be sure to have a lot of time on your hands. I'm getting ready for part two.

I've read the books of Andrzej Sapkowski long before they made this game about Geralt. I didn't play the first episode and only got halfway in the second game. The writing from Andrzej and the first two games......seems they did it all just to exercise for this game. Blood, sweat and tears I imagine but worth every damn second of it.

...and just half way through. More DLC on the way.
Damn this is good.

ps. I play on hard in the late evening/night with the lights out and with headphones on and a bottle of whisky in reach. It gets scary, there are monsters. Lots of ugly ones too. You'll need the drink when you play it the way it is supposed to be.

All I can say is, that The Witcher is to video games, what The Lord of The Rings is to movies. Fantastic story telling, superb voice acting, beautiful graphics, excellent music score, what's not to love about this game? If you have read the books/novels you will find A LOT of references to them, and as the saying goes "the devil is in the details", you will wind lots of wonderful little details that tie into the story on the books.

I would totally recommed this story driven RPG to ANYONE.

It's good, really good. Storyline is just awesome, maybe not as brilliant as in Witcher book series, but still great. Unfortunately this game has some defects like optimization, which was much better in version 1.0. Bad antialising is another disadvantage, because CDPr implemented FXAA instead of MSAA.

Epic franchise. Best of the best. The story line is fasicinating and the portraits of different characters are amazing. Geralt, a witcher and he is not that so called hero in the game. However he is a true legend and not that popular among mobs. Well, we can say that the society is stupid. People are ignorant but player still manage a way to live it and embrace many challenges. My goal now is to get the best armor sets and weapons, to kill monsters and increase my level, explore the world and find treasures. Witcher Wild Hunt, is not just Geralt's story. It can be yours, ours. :D Peace.
