Something worth fighting for

Along the way, Warface makes sure you have access to the firepower and skill set required for victory. Unlock a vast array of weapons and tweak them to personal perfection by utilizing multiple upgrade slots. There are also plenty of ways to enhance your soldier's stats, and when the battle gets underway you can gain an advantage over the enemy with special actions such as sliding and shooting, taking cover behind moveable objects, and combining with friends to reach strategic vantage points.

From the creators of Far Cry and Crysis, Warface keeps the top quality FPS action coming thick and fast every single day, completely for free!

Well , some friends have finally convinced me to play this game. When I saw the trailer I was very confident and excited about this little title crytek have decided to launch. It showed me pretty interesting mechanics and things I have never seen in a free to play game. And when i actually saw that crytek made it i jumped up and i told myself : this means a new era for free to play games.
Well , i was wrong . I was so very wrong.

The game

The game focuses on straight infantry combat. You start the game and jump right in the tutorial with no explanation about what is going on . Some female voice tells you everything that you need to know about classes , movement mechanics , weapons etc. After you finish the tutorial you get a weapon which only lasts a week ( I will talk about this MAJOR problem later on ) . You get to choose whether you want to jump in a game through matchmaking or through dedicated servers. I truly recommend dedicated servers because you can find a game faster and you skip the 20 minutes wait time until you find a server that is empty in matchmaking.

The gameplay

The gameplay itself has some next-gen elements in it , such as : helping a teammate climb a higher structure by boosting him up , reviving ( not really next-gen but oh well ) and also SLIDING . I said SLIDING in bold text because i want to point out that it is OP ( OverPowered for non-DotA players ) , meaning that when you slide , you can also shoot. This makes it so that when you see a dude , slide and shoot towards him and he's dead. No matter his skill , level etc , he will not notice you and you will get an easy kill. It was slightly nerfed since i first played this game in the closed beta , but it is still OP.
The game also has classes , which are primitive and remind me of Battlefield 4 . You get the same generic classes you see in every shooter ( medic , sniper , engineer , and rifleman ) . The one that somehow stands out is the rifleman , which is somehow a support from Battlefield , but with the ability to give himself ammo without droping it .
Anyway , you've probably played other shooters and you know how they handle.
The gunplay is very unbalanced. You start out with some ♥♥♥♥ty weapons which are actually waterguns because all their stats are set to 1 ( out of 100 ) , and all of your enemies are higher levels with weapons that seem like very small miniguns combined with Counter Strike AWP's . In other words , you will lose every single battle if you don't have proper cover.
The maps are very small . Actually , they are smaller than Nuketown in Call of Duty . No need for more words here

The main problem with the game

MICROTRANSACTIONS EVERYWHERE!!!!
Yes , you will be swarmed in little ads with weapons or clothing that doesn't do anything . These items will continue to appear on the screen until you buy them . And the worst part ? You will struggle to kill and kill and kill for money , money , money , and when you have enough money to buy another ♥♥♥♥ty item with all the stats 2 , you will rage and throw your PC out the window when you will notice that it will only be available for one week . Of course , until you buy a Premium account that will cost extra money ( real money )

The final verdict
Overall , i DO NOT recommend this game. Don't let the screenshots and trailers fool you. It's not worth it. It will never be , because this is what the corporations do to the developers: They make them create unfinished games like this one

So... my Warface review. Well, I'll start out by saying that I was part of the very early closed betas of warface, and played it almost daily starting around Febuary 2013 until about November 2013. I had a large group of friends I played with, and one by one they slowly stopped. Back then, it was pretty buggy and there were a lot of hackers, so once I saw that Warface was posted on Steam, I decided to give it a shot.

I really genuinely enjoyed playing Warface. Cumulative between betas, I invested about 250-400 hours. (All stats and time counters reset every time a new beta started, or large changes were made so it was hard to keep track.) It was a great free to play game with a lot of maps and options. Around this time one year ago, they implemented the kredit system, so people could invest real hard earned money for weapons, boxes, armor, etc. I, being very into the game spent about $200 (regretfully) over the course from October to November 2013. I was dead set on getting the PEG Bullpup shotgun. All $200 was spent, and I was left without the shotgun. A friend of mine rolled ONE box, and got it first try. I was furious. Ultimately, this is why I stopped playing almost a year ago.

Fast forward to when it posted on steam, I decided to reinstall the game and try again. Now, when it posted on Steam, you could use the actually gold currency to buy boxes. I still had about $800,000 from when I played, so I said screw it and tried for the PEG Bullpup again. (Kredits are the real money currency, and gold is acquired from PVP and PVE missions) If you have played Warface, you can understand JUST HOW MUCH $800,000 is. I used every freaking dollar and did not get the gun.

TL;DR The gameplay is great, if youre in a lobby with well rounded players or have some friends to play with. The pay-to-win factors kills any enjoyment of actually unlocking stuff.

I'll probably continue to play this game, and hate myself for doing so.

GAME OVERVIEW NOTES:
Free To Play.
Not pay to win but pay to unlock early.
Coop (PvE) is the fastest way to unlock items and gain Warface Dollars, Crowns, XP, Vendor XP
PvP is not recommended for XP grinding.
Gear makes a big difference including weapons. (YES, THE GAME IS GEAR BASED)
Weapons and Gear are either rental or permanent.
Weapons and Gear that are no longer in the game can still be used if a permanant version was obtained before the items were removed.

Game Modes:
Team Death Match - 8v8
Free For All - 16 total
Storm - Team A defends a point that Team B is trying to capture. Capturing a point grants access to the next point. 3 points total to win.
Capture - Team A defends a warhead briefcase that Team B needs to steal and bring back to base.
Plant the bomb - just like all plant bomb games and Counter Strike
Destruction - Both teams fight for a capture point in order to launch missles on the opposing enemy force. 3 missles launched wins the match.

Currency:
Kredits - premium cash bought with real money purchase (unlocks anything in the game)
Crowns - PvE coop currency that is used on the BEST items in the game. (Major League Gaming can restrict Crown gear)
Warface Dollars - basic cash used to repair and buy items that are unlocked (obtained after matches in pvp and in pve)

Vendor Unlocks: (each type of unlock is chosen before starting a match, and XP per type is not shared)
Gear (Outfit) - Boots, Gloves, Helm, Chest
Equipment (weapon attachements) - Scopes, Holograhpic sights, front grips, bipods, bayonetts, supressors and silencers
Weapon - Pistols, SMGS, MGS, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Knifes

Gear Grades:
Common -> Rare -> Ultra Rare (ultra rare being the best to unlock) -> Crown
Crown Gear will always beat all, for they provide armor and health regeneration, delaying of claymores, fast reload and weapon swap, or even granting immunity to 1 headshot)

Generic copy-paste shooter. Not sure where these "pay to win" claims are coming from. If you can hit a head, you too can dominate even the big spenders in pvp. PvE is...just...sad.

I played this ♥♥♥♥ since the closed beta gface in-browser thing. It only seems to have gotten worse. The UI is so utterly ♥♥♥♥ that even PGI would blush. If you want to play a rewarding, co-op shooter, look elsewhere. If you want to play a fun, casual pvp fps, look elsewhere. If you want to play a competitive shooter...BWAHAHAHAHA, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN LOOKING AT THIS PILE?

3/10, at least the slide menouvre is kinda original. That being said, the slide seems to not have a transitional animation (at least with the f*cky netcode they have), which means "oh Im up here! JK, down here now!".

Co-op is unbalanced. Class system is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and PVP is unfair. Don't waste your time.

Warface is a really unique first-person shooter. Not only does it have online deathmatch, online team deathmatch, and capture the flag but a drop-in drop-out co-op mode. In this mode, you team up with a maximum of 6 people to work together and complete missions. The missions are either initiation missions, regular, skilled, or hardcore missions. Also, Warface has powerful weapons to help you get more kills. Here are some of the weapons i recommend for the following classes:

Medic: SPAS-12

Assault: LMG

Engineer: Vector

I wouldn't recommend Sniper class

P.S. If you have an LMG, try for a grenade launcher and attach it to the LMG. Then, you will be a god.
