About This Game

Eden River HD is a relaxing nature experience designed for the Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2 using Unity3d. It is the 4th VR experience from Unello design. Eden River was created as a counterpoint to all the violent horror and action demos available for the Rift. There is no blood in Eden River HD, there are no monsters. Instead you cruise down a tranquil river flying along with the animals of the forest. If you have one, set up a small electric fan in front of you blowing a slight breeze on your face.

Pros:
- It is a nice and relaxing environment, but...

Cons:
- It seems to steer me into walls sometimes unless I heavily lean to the side to veer away. I want to just chill and look around and not have to worry about clipping through trees and rocks. If I just sit with my head upright, and not steer in any direction it will just smash you into rocks and really breaks immersion. Especially when the animals are following you right into the rocks.
- The animals are ok but could look and act a bit more natural. Espcially when turning to avoid objects like trees or rocks.
- The environment is very repetative
- There seems to not be any positional tracking in this game, only rotational. Maybe the devs figured it wasn't necessary but I notice it and it breaks immersion.
- Direct to HMD mode crashes for me
- Extended mode has no option to set to 2nd screen. Even when setting my rift as the primary display it would not launch correctly. I finally was only able to "play" it by running in extended mode, and dragging the window over to the right to display on my rift. Attemping to go full screen then did not work so I had to do my best to center the game window in my rift display. Not ideal.

Summary:
This game should really be in the "Early Access" state. It needs more content and a lot of polish.

This should be a free demo cause that's basically what it is. It lasts about 5 minutes and it's pretty boring. The head movemet is "unusual" and you can't really steer where you want to go. And it's not that relaxing anyway. Just put on some soft music from youtube and look at some pictures of lakes and birds from google and you'll get the same experience. Better yet, download a picture and just zoom in and out slowly so it looks like your moving.
