Was sucked into this by the visuals, and while they proved to be nice...there's not much else about Parkan 2 that is. Most budget "X lite" space titles are solid games that just feel a little cheap, but otherwise work well - Parkan 2 does not. I ran into crashes every five or ten minutes, as well as graphical lockups and flickering textures in station and ship interiors.
Combat in space is pretty standard fare, aside from enemies being able to pull total 180s in a second or less when coming straight at you guns blazing. There is no planetary landing like in Evochron, just a load screen...and planetary combat is very boring, with what seems to just be fights against maintenance and security bots. The ambient music is nice, but the voicework ranges from disturbingly corny to so flatly delivered you're waiting for a script attached to a long-dead voice artist to fly past.
Very unimpressed, and at the price I snagged this for, using store credit on a certain place filled with little green men...it still cost too much.
