Lets start this review by just saying that this game is essentially the same as the first, all they did was slap a 2 on the end and call it a new game. I some how feel while i played this game that it belongs on my Facebook, and i keep expecting to sign into Facebook book and see my timeline spamed with Kingdom Tales 2 propaganda. If this game was made by anyone it was the North Koreans.. simply because they have no idea whats going on outside in the real world and live in 1999.

Would i advise you to waste any amount of money on this game.. NO.. this game is for a 3 year child that is just entering the world of RTS games. Sometimes i wonder how steam allows crap like this on their system, its like getting robbed of your hard earned dollars for recycled crap.

Kingdom Tales 2 is the sequel to the first Kingdom Tales game and just like its predecessor, this one is a time management/building strategy game, too. This time, though, you take on the role of Finn, a young blacksmith who has fallen in love with Dahla, the king's daughter, and she has fallen in love with Finn as well. However, the king finds out about the two of them and tries to forbid them from seeing each other. But seeing that the young couple is truly in love, the king instead sets up a challenge in which he declares that the young man who can successfully expand upon the king's lands will have the right to ask for Dahlia's hand in marriage. Of course, Finn rises to the challenge along with noble lords, including Count Ohil, who is the antagonist in this game.

Although Kingdom Tales 2 has the same gameplay as the first one, there are a few minor differences. For one, there are 40 levels here whereas there were 45 levels in the first game. Also, there are 3 difficulty levels: relaxed, normal, and extreme. Only in relaxed mode, there is no timer whereas in extreme mode, it is the most difficult setting. There are in game trophies as well although for certain ones, you can only earn them if you choose to play the game in extreme mode, which is what I ended up doing.

Now as to my opinion, I enjoyed this game a lot. I felt that there was more of a story to it this time (narrated at the beginning and end of the game) and I like the addition of another difficulty level. Also, there were a couple of additional features that I liked, like the wheel of fortune where you can spin it (provided that you have 1000 gold) and get some help during the level, like additional gold, wood, etc. In addition, the farm is a feature that is needed since your residents will need food so building the farm and purchasing food is a must.

Again, I would have liked for Steam achievements and/or trading cards to have been included but Kingdom Tales 2 is very enjoyable and I'd recommend it for time management fans. Even for those who are novices to the genre, it can be enjoyable, too, since there is an untimed mode so you can enjoy the game at your own pace. ^^

This is a fun little game. Takes 3-4 hours to beat it, but if you pick it up for 2 or 3 dollars its worth it. You could definitly go back through it to master it on expert if you wanted to. The ending is a little rediculous with the twist they put in at the last few missions. Dont buy it for the story, buy it for the strategy.

It's exactly like the first one, which I found nice. That's what I was hoping for. Simple resource management game with a light plot.
