This game is horribly British.
But that's ok! In some universe. It's also a console port so get ready to deal with awful menu controls. They patched up most of the issues (oakvale lag, no enter button on menu) and fixed the blury issue. It actually looks pretty good, and the art style will begin to grow on you. By the end of the game, I actually loved it and started taking screenshots.
Character growth is nice and the ability to still hit achievements from both evil and good sides of the ball is great. The combat is fun and engaging. Even if you're into only one style of combat (ranged, melee, magic), you'll eventually earn enough XP to flesh each system out enough to make them all useful in different situations.
The game is well written. It has some pretty comedic moments, some "hard choice" moments, and no matter what you're not stressing about right or wrong you just play it and do. The concept of your player changing by way of decision making is fantastic as there isn't a right or wrong; it's just exactly what it is.
The map is ♥♥♥♥ing terrible. The menu controls are ♥♥♥♥ing terrible. The auto target is ♥♥♥♥ing terrible. Vendors are awful. Some quests are bugged. But what do you expect from a 10 year old game? They did a great job rebuilding the world and modernizing its appearance but it still suffers from old world bugs.
It was worth playing through the bugs and any action-RPG fan needs to give this a good play through. Waiting for Fable 2 (on PC).
Edit: turn off vsync in game, use a forced vsync from your graphics card. You're welcome.
