Game keeps crashing after 30 minutes of game play. I have a quad core processor, GeForce 970 withe well over a terabyte of hard drive space. Oh and 16 gigs of R.A.M.

It's a decent remaster of one of the best RPG's I've played.
Lots of hours were spent in the original version of this game, beating it again and then trying the new challenging mode are a good way to spend your time.

They remastered the graphics and that's it, you will notice the aged gameplay immediately and the new graphics don't really fit in at all.

I loved the old Fable artstyle. it was whimiscal yet realstic, it had the best of both worlds. This "Anniversary Edition" completely changes the faces of characters you once loved, making you turn your head every single cutscene, it's hard to decide if this 'upgrade' is worth it or not if you played the original to death.
They advertise that there is 'new gameplay', but I have yet to experience any of it, and maybe I am missing it but I thought they maybe meant new controls.
This game does not control particularily well if you're used to modern 3rd Person games, it was awesome when it was released, and still is if you ask me as a long time fan. However, if you find this game as a newcomer who plays the Witcher 3 or similar modern titles, you might not feel the same. I personally love the controls of this game and honestly I believe it's because I originally played the game on the Xbox.

I'd personally say buy the original, the graphics still look decent and the gameplay is pretty much identical.

I really wanted to play this game; I was so excited when I started until I tried to use the camera and it was almost gave me motion sickness, something I've never gotten before. I'm not interested in dropping money on a controller so I had to request a refund. Not very happy.

Just how I remember the fable games! I played all of them on console, fable 2 and 3 being my favourites. I pretty much forgot about this game after playing those, but it's all coming back to me and it is DEFINITELY worth playing if you're into genres such as this, or if you've played any other fable games. Even if you've already played this through on console, play it again! I love that it's been remastered, just like all fable games, the story is a bit repetitive but it's real easy to get in to, just don't skip the cut scenes or you won't know what the hell has happened. Also, there is a bit of an annoying 'issue' in the cut scenes, 2 black lines appear sort of like making the screen a cinematic view however it just looks dodgy, like some sort of glitch, but that's only during the cut scenes so it's not a big issue.

Either way, I definitely recommend this game whether you've played it or not. The combat is pretty easy but super fun! The quests are sometimes story rich, and sometimes they're just comical (like searching for a man who's cheating on his wife, then snitching on him and watching her rip his head off.. not literally). You can get haircuts, get married, get tattoos, there's loads to do!

The greatest thing about the fable games is the good deeds or bad deeds. You change the way people view you, they could be scared of you or dislike you because you chose to follow an evil path and perform bad deeds, or they could root for you and clap every time they see you because you're known as a hero and perform good deeds!

So yeah, I recommend it, it's old, but it's gold! (I got it for £4.00 in the sale, bonus!!!)

It does not allow you to hotkey anything.
The controls and camera is worse than the orginal game.
This version should not exist.
Im glad I brought it during the sale and not their full price.
Unless you are collecting games, dont buyt it.

So I bought this game thinking it would look great and would blow me away with its visuals and new player models. Boy was I mistaken! So I booted up the game and I get to see all those old logos which was nice little bit of nostalgia but then the main menu shows up, and it's a book that opens up, everytime you launch the game. So you have to wait just a little but longer to even get into the menus/game. It's just tedious watching this damn book open everytime, just take me to the main menu please!

Now the game looks a bit better to be honest. But it lacks the feeling of even being Fable at all. The characters all look weird now and don't have that charm they had from the previous version. All these old animations being used on newer looking models makes everyone just look awkward. But then there's you. You look like a train wreck! Someone ran over the heros face and now he looks like this weird, being of some sort that doesn't even look like he belongs in Fable. I couldn't get past it either. The Hero and The Guild Master just throw me off.

Now the menus are just awful to navigate. It used to be you pressed pause and it would take you to a little menu that you could easily navigate through. It was simple and easy to get around in. Maybe a bit clunky but I had no problems with it. These new menus are trying to look all fancy and "current gen" but they somehow managed to make it complicated to figure out what's where. I got into my inventory and I was just so confused I couldn't tell what I was doing, and all I wanted was to equip my new weapon. Everything about this remaster of the classic is just too much if you ask me.

The combat felt alright. I had no issues and infact felt like they had improved the AI some. Gameplay and all felt the same though and really felt alright. I was able to easily move around and do the side quests without any trouble.

Don't take my review the wrong way it might not be all that bad but the visuals drove me away from this remake. Everything abouts new style really threw me off and not because I'm some nostalgia freak, but because it feels extremely unnatural, you can tell the quality in the cutscenes are lacking and the audio quality is a bit off (You can hear it clear as day if you compared the games) I don't recommend this game but instead, recommend you play the older one (Lost Chapters). However each is to their own so if this is the one you prefer then have at it! But I highly recommend you play the original!

While this is a "Remastered" version of the original X-Box Fable, gameplay elements certainly aged. You will notice the story has no pace at all and things just happen too quickly in cutscenes. Combat is all about mashing the attack button.

However the game is unique and still has its charm. Lots of silly fun can be had with it.

If you are into action button mashing games and open world RPG, then I recommend to get this game when it is on sale.

I must admit, I expected more of this remake.

I was so excited when this was announced that I immediately bought the game at full price (which I almost never do). The fact is, apart from a graphics update, the game offers little more than the original did. I am generally someone who enjoys the feel of the game more than the look, and for anyone who tends towards the same perspective, the Anniversary version is simply not worth it.

However, I can say very little against the game itself; it is still one of my all time favourites. It's witty, intelligent, story-rich with plenty of side quests to sink your teeth into, and it offers a surprising amount of character development considering your controllable 'Hero' doesn't actually speak. My only niggles with the game itself are that you can only play as a male character, which I find limits my immersion somewhat, and that the camera occasionally refuses to do as you tell it.

Despite my initial disappointment with the lack of new content, I am still glad I bought this version of the game. And as I would confidently say that Fable should be played by everyone, I can hardly not reccommend it.

Great game. I see why people might not like it, but for a person who really liked Fable 3 (got into the franchise there), I like this game so much more. After playing this one for 25 hours, I tried to pick up Fable 3 again, and wow I just realized how bad that game is. If you liked any of the fable games, this one will be a good addition to your collection.

After finishing the game, I can safely say that this is one of the better rpg's out there. It does a lot of things very well, and lets the player explore on their own without forcefeeding. Gg.

Absolutely adore this game, I wasn't lucky enough to play it when it first came out but I'm glad to have the opportunity to do it now! My only niggle is the dodgy camera angles but it's so fun and vibrant with a great story and interesting characters :)
