Was very weary of putting a review as I put countless hours into TLC on my original Xbox and it play virtually the same but I am new to PC and didn't want a biased review but it's just as good if not slightly better with the upped difficulty :)

Brings me back to the good ol' days where you could do everything you wanted except for kill children. Don't get me wrong, stealing is fun and all, but those lil cruds get on my nerves - ~ -

The game is pretty dated, but the upgraded lighting and slight texture upgrade is a really nice treat for anyone who was a fan of the orginal game like I was. Its better to get this game on sale, but it is still worth it at its full price. 9/10

If you liked Fable on the xbox, get this one; not the Lost Chapters PC port. There are some new things added to this version that don't seem to be in the way; nothing offensive that I've seen so far. I really like this update, everything about it. It's good old fable with new graphics, the gameplay holds up.

What would be cool is if expanded campaigns were added to this game, like maybe a Whisper campaign? Or maybe a sandbox version... multiplayer; please don't stop developing this.

I would give this a great review, as I love the original and TLC very much. However it must be said that this game will stutter and lag to the point of being unplayable. I wish I had known that before dropping $50 on the game. (As I bought one of the DLCs) All the supposed "fixes" didn't work, and it isn't as if I am playing on some potato of a computer. So my advice is this, Just play the original fable TLC as this is just too much of a laggy mess to buy. I mean it isn't like this just launched either, it is 2016, and this ♥♥♥♥ is still broke....

I like this remake! Twin Blades looks odd but he kinda always did all long arms and short legs. I would pay full price if I could afford it and then just play it maybe once a month when ever the Fable fever would hit me. I used to play Fable 3 but for the most part that game sucks, however for a brain dead drunk person it can be good.

I want to see Fable 2 remade and intergrated with this one. There was always talk of raising a family then dying of old age only to take control of the child you had raised! I want to see that but make Fable 1 the starting point since Fable 2 is very similar to the map of Fable 1.

- Pretty decent remake, cut-scenes are roughly the same as the original. But the environments, game-play and UI feel really fluid/ well rendered.

I really loved the Original for XBox way back in the day. I've been tossing around getting "The Lost Chapters" or "Anniversary Edition" for awhile now, the #1 factor became full controller support. I guess TLC does not support the full controller, so i went the Anniversary route.

Pros:
+Still Feels and Plays the same
+Fun emotes and tomfoolery
+The Story is still a good "Fable"
+Unique Weapons and Armor to find/buy
+Really devestating Spells to unleash
+HD Visuals and HD Audio
++Full Controller Support

Cons:
-Even though it's fun, this is still just a remaster of the original
-"The Lost Chapters" would have been a more complete Fable Exp for an Anniversary Edition

I played the original Lost Chapters on the PC, saw this in the steam summer sale and thought I'd give it a go. TL;DR Can recommend! (Runs fine on Windows 10 btw)

Pros:

-Fantastic dialogue and humour, you will appreciate this even more if your British as a lot of regional accents and stereotypes are used.
-Very well done linear RPG of old. It's easy to navigate around and you always know where to go. At the same time there are some nice touches on thi sides such as buying a house, getting married etc
-Game looks beautiful. The unreal engine really brings this vibrant game to life, some of the old characters look a little weird at first but you'll get used to it.
-Good/Evil decision making split. I played this game years ago and then transistioned into The Witcher Franchise. Your choices have an impact and make the story consequences split, as well as how towns folk respond to you.
-Combat is fast paced and satisfying. Hurling your sword around smacking foes feels great, at the same time there's a nice mixture of spells to choose from too

Cons:

-Little buggy here and there. Had 1 CTD throughout the whole thing which is fine. But sometimes, particularly at the start some NPCs bugged out and wouldn't attack me.
-Shows its age. If you played Skyrim and Witcher 2 & 3 get ready for a step back. Game is still fantastic but respect the fact it came out 10 years ago.
-Sometimes you accidentally attack friendly NPCs mid combat when using the lock on mode, NPCs are quite patient and forgiving but still kinda annoying.

I heard some people moaning about keyboard controls, can't say myself, I used an Xbox controller throughout and the button set up "Traditional" was great for me.

Overall smashing game worth a pick up!

Just how I remember the fable games! I played all of them on console, fable 2 and 3 being my favourites. I pretty much forgot about this game after playing those, but it's all coming back to me and it is DEFINITELY worth playing if you're into genres such as this, or if you've played any other fable games. Even if you've already played this through on console, play it again! I love that it's been remastered, just like all fable games, the story is a bit repetitive but it's real easy to get in to, just don't skip the cut scenes or you won't know what the hell has happened. Also, there is a bit of an annoying 'issue' in the cut scenes, 2 black lines appear sort of like making the screen a cinematic view however it just looks dodgy, like some sort of glitch, but that's only during the cut scenes so it's not a big issue.

Either way, I definitely recommend this game whether you've played it or not. The combat is pretty easy but super fun! The quests are sometimes story rich, and sometimes they're just comical (like searching for a man who's cheating on his wife, then snitching on him and watching her rip his head off.. not literally). You can get haircuts, get married, get tattoos, there's loads to do!

The greatest thing about the fable games is the good deeds or bad deeds. You change the way people view you, they could be scared of you or dislike you because you chose to follow an evil path and perform bad deeds, or they could root for you and clap every time they see you because you're known as a hero and perform good deeds!

So yeah, I recommend it, it's old, but it's gold! (I got it for £4.00 in the sale, bonus!!!)

Well, as a new fan, I have heard this game just two day ago when STEAM put it on summer sales. Anyhow I have to admit that it intrigues to play more and more. For someone like me who play only point-n-click games for all my life, this game changed my taste in games a little bit. Every decision has its consequence and story line is so rich! I've never go straight to the mission, though. I notice that there is an acheivement for dressing in an assasin outfit and doing an ♥♥♥ *creed*. Nice play, nice play, Fable.

They remastered the graphics and that's it, you will notice the aged gameplay immediately and the new graphics don't really fit in at all.

I loved the old Fable artstyle. it was whimiscal yet realstic, it had the best of both worlds. This "Anniversary Edition" completely changes the faces of characters you once loved, making you turn your head every single cutscene, it's hard to decide if this 'upgrade' is worth it or not if you played the original to death.
They advertise that there is 'new gameplay', but I have yet to experience any of it, and maybe I am missing it but I thought they maybe meant new controls.
This game does not control particularily well if you're used to modern 3rd Person games, it was awesome when it was released, and still is if you ask me as a long time fan. However, if you find this game as a newcomer who plays the Witcher 3 or similar modern titles, you might not feel the same. I personally love the controls of this game and honestly I believe it's because I originally played the game on the Xbox.

I'd personally say buy the original, the graphics still look decent and the gameplay is pretty much identical.

I got into the franchise with Fable 2. I always wanted to play the first Fable. I even bought an original Xbox version of it, but I hated the controls.

Enter Fable Anniversary. The Fable 2/3 control scheme works so much better than the original.

I, now, love this one as much as the other two.

Fable & Fable Lost Chapters are wonderful games. Some of my favorites. I have sepnt endless hours immersed in the wonder Land of Albion but this version of fable, The Anniversary Edition is a bucket of disappointment & lies.
This game is literaly a visual upgrade only & with it comes a bucket of bugs & crashes that were completely overlooked & ignored by Devs thru gross negligence. They didn't even try to fix any issues pre prelease or even years after. Which goes to show why the studio was shut down in the first place. They specialize in creating & smashing dreams.
So thanks Lion Head & Microsoft, for smashing my dreams with this game, for taking my money & throwing me the middle finger.

Fable Anniversary is a fully remastered version of Fable: The Lost Chapters. It features a graphic overhaul, new save system and incorporates achievements.

And well, that's it. And that right there is the problem.

The reason everybody loved the first Fable was for it's slapstick humor and eccentric characters. But the game aged pretty badly. Sloppy animations, simplistic combat, stiff and eerie looking characters, finiky movement, oh and don't forget all the bugs..... So when Lionhead announced Fable Anniversary I was pretty stoked and could not wait to play a remastered and polished version of Fable.

However, even though the visuals got an upgrade, characters, animations, movement, interaction, combat, etc. all remained the same. I've played through the entire game and nearly 100% completed it, because I do love the world of Albion, but in the end there's more to a game than nostalgic value. And this game delivers no more than that. I would only recommend getting the game if you are a fan of the original Fable: TLC.
