KONAMI returns to the football field with PES 2015 with a return to core PES values. Thanks to the incredible FOX Engine, PES 2015 delivers stunning visuals and animation where the world’s greatest players move and play just their real-life counterparts, while PES ID ensures that the whole team matches their famed playing style. Every gameplay element has been retooled for a more responsive experience, while new shooting and goalkeeper systems ensure the heart-in-mouth feeling that comes with a top-level game is faithfully recreated. Close control, tackling, and the balance of play also perfectly reflect that of real football. This is the best soccer/football game there is at the moment I believe. Maybe I should get Fifa 15 as well to challenge that, nevertheless I've played many soccer games over the years, and by saying that I mean usually every installment of Fifa. Only played one or two PES games before, in the earlier 2000's. It has its flaws but only seemingly because
Konami, you SHOULDN'T have left any features out of the PC version of PES 2015. I think everyone who plays this game and likes it would feel the same, because they would want that stuff that sadly got cut from the PC version And I hope you won't leave anything out of PC PES 2016 Konami ^_^ But when I saw this was on Steam I knew I'd had to play it. I'd been toying with the idea of getting Fifa15, and I have played 10 hours of it actually; the Fifa 15 demo on Origin.

Pros:

☑ GAMEPLAY:

Well realised, with a balance of say 80/20 simulation to arcade. Very fun, challenging and rewarding.

☑ ANIMATIONS:

Very slick, I'm still suprised to see some animations for controlling the ball I don't believe I've ever seen after playing many hours. Very nice to watch (looks like da real thing) and works nicely in tandum with the controls of the game.

☑ CONTROLS:

The pinnacle really. Incredibly complex controls, more expansive than Fifa. Many years of honing these controls is evident, and the staggering variety of combo'ing these controls is amazing. You can even set manual off-sides and tactics in-game. And you can make fake dives, and do all kinds of crazy skill moves that look amazing to pull off. I'm talking about using a gamepad controller.

☑ GAME MODES:

Lots of them. Just about everything Fifa has, Pes has too.

☑ UPDATES:

Konami gets it pretty spot on with the form updates. I remember the day after Van Persie scored 2 goals for Manchester United last week, I went on and saw that he was in form in myClub and other people who had just played.
. Patch today through Steam (15th/12/2014) the first patch I've noticed since getting the game,
Consulting with the community the patch brings in: Four new teams, 73 new player faces and Four stadiums. And the myClub feature will also get new Event Competitions.

☑ TACTICS AND STRATEGY:

So many options. What formation do I play. Everything you would expect can be changed I think and ultimately more than Fifa. There is alot of tactical options that really make this game a simulator, and generally give more control to the user.

☑ CHEAPER THAN FIFA

$40 instead of $60 pretty much. I like the gameplay alot better compared to the bit of Fifa15 demo I've played. Game flow feels alot more realistic, and you can't change direction at pace to get around your opponent like Fifa. It's more realistic than Fifa gameplay wise (Don't quote me on this)

☑ SOUND:

Pretty solid. Good world music soundtrack. You can also adjust the sound level of each option in the game, e.g crowd noise, commentary, menu music etc.. I really like the PA announcements that adds to the realism for me.

In-Game commentary could use some serious updating though - you can tell that might have been neglected somewhat. It's nowhere near the commentary of Fifa where it is so accurate and thats a shame because of the licensing issues I think..?

☑ 'PES ID':

What Konami calls the graphics behind the recognition of the players faces in the game. I think they did a great job on this, as good as Fifa - It could be slightly better, and it is brought down by the graphics of the game on the pitch somewhat.

☑ PC REQUIREMENTS:

Very low pc system requirements. Compared to Fifa which DOES NOT RUN on 32 bit OS, only 64 bit OS. And recommended graphics card for Fifa is pretty high at Gtx 660 not sure about AMD equivalent.

Cons:

☒ GRAPHICS:

For some reason Konami gave PC users the PS3 graphics and not the PS4 graphics. There is really no excuse for this as PC's are more powerful than the PS4. Luckily you can patch all of this away thanks to some legend, go to http://www.pes-patch.com and get PES 2015 PTE Patch 2.0. This is the site for PES 2015 mods. This mod fixes all the licensing issues with the real names and comes with a pitch mod that adds weather that you can turn on, its pretty cool and weather on the pitch is really something that should initially have been in the game.

It's only the graphics in the actual gameplay that is lacking, compared to Fifa15. The patch above pretty much brings it to standard though from the original version of the game.

The cutscenes that show close-ups of the players in-game are as good as Fifa I think, because PES ID gets it right 99% of the time but can get some players that look obscure very wrong (look up James Wilson who plays for Manchester United, looks nothing like him in real life)

☒ CRACKED ILLEGAL copies can play online..

and get free 80+ players in myClub, because of some pre-order bonus (This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, I couldnt think of one game off the top of my head that you can play online in from a downloaded illegal version)
I think its Gotze, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic and Bale. Those are the players that people got for pre-ordering this game in myClub mode. But if you torrent this game, you can play online and get the pre-order bonus for free lol. -_-

☒ SERVERS

Could be better... It seems to be alright for me though. I've played fair few online myClub games and for the most part its been pretty lag-free. I think the game is peer-to-peer connection..? That in itself isn't the best thing I believe, if it had its own servers that would probably be better.

EDIT: Played some more myClub and online divisions can't help but notice the input delay sometimes.

☒ MICROTRANSACTIONS:

You can buy coins in the myClub (ripoff from Fifa's Ultimate Team mode) I actually play this mode quite alot because I like the idea of it. Was kind of upset when I found out that you can't buy specific players in it- only random, but its grown on me nonetheless. I've got Podolski and Neuer (93 rating) who is like the best goalkeeper in the game lol; Whom I was incredibly lucky to get - both acquired without buying coins.
I acually got Neuer from just a normal agent with a 20% chance to get a black ball, amazingly lucky - now I need to buy another manager to play him...im so poor

Also DONT reset your club in myClub if you want to keep high rated players because I did that and lost Carlos Tevez when I first started lol.

☒ CINEMATICS:

Konami took out cutscenes from the PC version of this game completely, where they were in the console version. WHY!?!? You won't be watching them in online, but I would have loved to be able to watch them in single player if I wanted to. Yeah I would have really loved for this to have been kept in the PC version its the only way to really admire the full work of Konami and PES ID and everything lol. plz KONAMI DONT EMIT ANY FEATURES FROM THE PC VERSION OF PES 2016

Edit: 27/12/2014 - Just found this in the community hub and tried it out = http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=359729631. It enables the cutscenes in the game just don't run the exe with any anti-spyware programs running I had to turn Trend Micro off. Works great

Summary
I think this is a great game, well worth your time if you've ever enjoyed playing a football game. I haven't noticed any bugs or glitches, and the gameplay alone is enough to hold this game up - and challenge the glitzy Fifa15 game which is all about the presentation. I'm happy I got it and its great to see myself get better and play smarter at it - not just charge at the enemy defence spamming skill moves Fifa style. Interested to see how much better they can make Pes16.

Thankyou and I hope this review informed you about this game.

Every year I buy this game in the hope that it can recapture the feel it had when it was far superior to FIFA. This year the reviews were promising but having got myself a decent gaming pc I decided to get it on Steam instead of my Xbox1.

I am very happy with my decision. The game is magnificent and with a patch downloaded to give all the Premier League kits and Skybet Championship I have no complaints at all.

I am in my second season as Real Mallorca in the Master League and it is so much better than career mode on FIFA. Player development actually works, the games are always different and enjoyable and whilst there is not that much depth to the Master League I still find it more satisfying than FIFA.

Don't be put off by the people claiming this is graphically inferior to console versions. It defauts to 720p but you can easily change that in the Settings program (in the Konami folder) and it runs beautifully at 1080p.

This is quite simply the best football game I have ever played. Well done Konami!

The gameplay is so much better compared to FIFA 13, sorry if that's a bit irrelevant, but that was the last football game I played. If u r fan of premier league, all the clubs are not given their official names except Man Utd probably due to exlusive liences to rival FIFA series. But if you love UEFA champions league and Europa league, AFC champions league etc. this is the game to go for instead of FIFA, because FIFA uses 'Champions Cup' naming instead, which just sounds rediculous. If u want the best of both world, get both games, LOL.

Pes is so much better then that other football game. I can not remember the name.
Anyway this is a good one. the best,,,,, hard to say.
If you like putting a pic of your face on a player and messing about, well thats gone. Just little modding things you could do. To save time.
The game play is solid. My friend who had a go couldn't get used to it saying "fifa is so much better, the play isn't as hard,to much controlle". Need i say more.

GoodLuck
Happy New Year All xxx

I didn't play PES for a while (3-4 years) and this game feels like the original ones. I also have FIFA15 and I must say that I like this one better. I find it more realistic. If you're not sure if it's worth it... it is!!! Give it a try!! It's better than FIFA

Finally the old good Pro Evolution Soccer is back!

The gameplay is finally very good again but the graphics are poor. It had a lot of online problems in first two weeks and I almost gave up but now everything works fine.

If the graphics could be better then I would give 9.5/10 to it but I'm playing football simulator because of gameplay not graphics, lol. So 9/10. Would recommend!

Not as slugish as previous versions of PES.
Feels fast like the old PS2 versions but with enough time to get your head
around a tactical approch to whats going down.

Makes FiFA look like a old rag doll being pulled around the pitch with a bit of string.
Smooth with the AI making runs that make sense.

Who would have Funk it ; )

Well, I've had to sort of gather my thoughts and properly think about how to write this reveiw. So here goes.

PES2015 is a good football/soccer game if you are looking for a simple setup to how you play. The hardest technicalities of configuring your team are mostly hidden from you and do their own thing in the background. Some are controllable and adjustable but require a bit of reading and testing before you can understand what each option does which is essential to getting your team configured properly. Gameplay wise it is fluid and responsive apart from one thing and that is a somewhat strange feeling that I'm not completely in control of my player as various times during control of the player it fails to do what I want. An example is when I pass or take a shot, if I pick a direction it seems to ignore it and I end up shooting or passing the ball out of bounds on the sideline. Could this be due to online lag or the input system having a fit, or both? For me it seems the input system struggles to cope with gameplay. So much is automatic i.e. the underlying code behind skill moves or special moves that involve certain sequential button and directional presses can't cope with how fast the gameplay is. Cancelling one special/skill move for another is where I think the major problem is.

Overall PES2015 as a football/soccer game will leave you feeling satisfied when you need your footbal fix but don't be surprised if sometimes you end up feeling more frustrated than satisfied with gameplay.

A return to form for Konami and the first PES I've thoroughly enjoyed since PES 5 on the PS2. After buying 2011, I turned to FIFA due to PES' broken engine and poor AI; shooting was impossible, passing was temperamental and set pieces nigh on ridiculous.

2015 has fixed nearly all of the issues I had with previous incarnations on the PC. Now, don't get me wrong, there definitely are problems including:

> Very slow autosaves at every menu screen.
> Tedious checking for updates.
> No online spectating (yeah, this is great fun for my group of four).
> Multiplayer lag.
> You can outfox the AI with a through ball every time on the bottom three difficulty settings.

I won't criticize the unlicensed Premier League teams as, although annoying, it is fixable with downloads.

With all of that negativity out of the way, I'd better cover the good points:

> It looks fantastic; David Luiz's hair is glorious.
> The massive number of teams; you can't play North Korea VS South Korea on FIFA.
> The engine has incredible fluidity; play is rarely broken unless the ball is hoofed into the stands or you want to take a direct free kick.
> A huge range of game modes including a far more in depth Master League than I am used to.
> Comprehensive training mode (I'm looking at you FIFA).
> The balance between average and fantastic players is spot on. You will get tackled for being cocky - FIFA allows Messi to phase through time and space.
> The soundtrack.

I picked it up pre-release for £15 and it was an absolute steal at that price.
