About This Game

It is the year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above.

But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…

Product Overview:

Metro: Last Light Redux is the definitive version of the critically acclaimed ‘Metro: Last Light’, rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine for Next Gen. Newcomers will get the chance to experience one of the finest story-driven shooters of all time; an epic adventure combining gripping survival horror, exploration and tactical combat and stealth.

This definitive version also includes all previously released DLC, adding 10 hours of bonus single-player content to the huge solo campaign. Fans of the original game will notice new features and gameplay improvements, including new melee animations, the ability to check your watch and ammo supplies on the fly, and new full-body player animations.

And those who favoured the more survival-horror oriented gameplay of the cult prequel ‘Metro 2033’ will find a new way to experience the campaign thanks to the introduction of two unique Play Styles – Survival and Spartan. The former transforms Last light from a more action-oriented stealth combat experience to a fraught, slow burn fight for survival. With the legendary Ranger Mode included to offer an extra layer of challenge and immersion, Metro: Last Light Redux offers hours of AAA gameplay for an incredible price.

Well told story, scary and amazing graphics. Came back for more after metro 2033 which was a big surprise for me. Did not expect a masterpiece but sure got one. Metro Last night is very similiar to metro 2033 so I would recommend anyone who enjoys shooters to pickthem up. I would buy it for full price (which I believe is around $30-$40) again. The campaign gave me around 13 hours of thrilling gameplay and I got really enganged with the story and caracters.

this came out before I had a chance to really get into the original, so not really knowing the difference I gotta say I think it's great. really dark and gritty FPS that plays out more like a movie than a video game. really enjoying it.

Another well made survival campaign game. The playstyle of this game is about the same as the previous one however many features such as gun modding is included if you got the original metro 2033 and not the redux version. This game has caught my attention as the weapons isn't just guns like rifle and pistols getting more and more OP as the story passes but the fact that it offered unique weapons such as the portable heavy automatic shotgun! (Abzats) and gatling. (late game). Next up, the difficulty. No. I'm not talking about the easy/hard difficulty but the hidden difficulty of being nice guy or a dooschebag for the two different endings.

Reasons why you should get this game:
1. You get to walk around with a heavy automatic shotgun that will pummel your enemies with either a semi-auto shot or a short 5 shotgun barrage. why not?

2. Campaign story. Just like the previous metro 2033, the story is very addictive and will make you want to venture deeper to uncover the next chapter. A good replay value in my opinion.

3. Not enough destruction in campaign? No worries! One of the chapters after the campaign will allow you to play as a heavy squad that instantly starts you off with a gatling gun, then proceeding to sniping with a rail gun and finally finishing up your job with the grenade launcher! If that isn't destructive enough for ya, I don't know what would.

Amazing story and graphics for a book adaptation. Also realistic. Makes you feel like you're actually in the game.

Wish the books were longer so the game can be longer.

A really solid shooter with some realism, which doesn't sacrifice the fun elements of fps, making it pretty unique. I especially enjoyed the weapon management, having a balanced arsenal (or if you know what's ahead, gearing up properly) and enough ammunition is quintessential to smooth progessing. Stuff like filters really add to the immersion and create tension and desire to progress quickly, which concerning the events of the story, is very appropriate. The voice acting is alright, sometimes it can feel a little artificial and unconvincing though. What I was kind of dissapointed by was the middle arc here and especially going on the surface. In the first game I felt actually threatened and pressured, even on the normal difficulty, the atmoshere was able to convey how YOU are the outsider on the surface and you're not welcome by any stretch of the imagiantion. Here, it's very obvious you now have enough firepower to down a mutant bear without taking any substantial amount of damage. There are quite a few bosses here, which can feel a bit underdeveloped, but some are pretty fun to fight nonetheless. So to wrap this up, I'd defiently recomment this game, pick it up on sale if you can, the redux bundle is a great deal. As for Metro: Last Light, it's a great game with a few small flaws that won't really make a difference for most people.

I'd rate it an ARTYOM! out of 10

P.S. I don't think I have to mention, as this game is known for it, the graphics are SUBLIME.

Metro: Last Light Redux
is 2nd game in the series of Metro. It's not based on the book like previous one, but it's sequel of Metro 2033.
Redux include refreshed graphics and slight changes in level designs which make this game even better than before.

Pros:
+Beautiful refreshed graphics
+Very interessting plot
+Great atmosphere
+Challenging and well designed levels with a lot of loot and enemies
+Decent lenght (13 hours of gameplay for me).
+Best universum which will caught u in and u will want more.

Cons:
-this game is flawless for it's genre.
-I didn't like the plot that much because of too many encounters (like half of game) with human enemies,
I preffered more mutants fights etc. But it's just me :)

Overall 9/10.
Slightly worse than previous one but still it's a great game.

Ahhhh The Metro.... I loved Metro 2033 and I just got finished playing darksouls 1 and 2 before picking this game up again while I wait for overwatch.

I don't regret picking it up again, it is much different than metro 2033 in the sense stealth kills are much easier to pull off but my choice of weapon against humans remains a decked out pistol to the point where it doesn't look like a pistol anymore, and my choice against monsters being the shotgun.

This game is beautiful, my only complaint being it's so immersive while on the surface that it's hard to enjoy the beauty of the russian landscape. Mostly just do to the scarceness of filters for your gas mask so you're always in a panic on the surface because suffocation is a much bigger threat in this game.

This game plays very much like dark souls in the sense that you will have cheap deaths, you will walk away from the game, but each time you pick it up again you will experience a rich story and be able to correct the mistakes you made from being tossed around by a demon or having your head blown off by a random bandit.

I have experienced some crashes but the game is smart enough to pause if it minimizes. Crashes will send you back to your checkpoint but this doesn't happen very often

One of the grittiest and most rewarding gaming experiences I've ever had
Dark, creepy, immersive, tense... just a great show all around.

✓ True immersion
Where most games try way too hard, Metro Last Light does beautifully. Play at night in the dark with a good headset, set the voices to russian and the subtitles to whatever you prefer, play on survival/ranger and experience this game at its best.

✓ Stunning visuals
They went a bit overboard with the bloom, but the rest of the game looks amazing. It really adds to the atmosphere and they did a wonderful job on the models/textures.

✓ Good story
It picks up a year after Metro 2033 ended. This time it's darker and there's a different goal. As usual with post-apocalyptic games, it shows you that even if your environment is surrounded by deadly creatures, the humans are the real monsters of the story.

✗ Some technical issues
1. Atrociously low FOV that, upon modification, will screw up some HUD elements
2. Many dialogues are un-subtitled if you play with russian voices/english subtitles

Verdict
In a nutshell, Metro Last Light is like Metro 2033, but better and with boobies. The Metro Redux bundle goes on sale all the time. If you still haven't played these amazing games, you're missing out on a GREAT experience.

Highly reccomended, the game gets an interesting evolvment of the plot after Metro 1 also some improvement were made since the characters are written a bit better now and well the immerision is even better which is still the best part of the game, the only thing i was a little dissapointend is that they didn't add more options to combat.
I really wish to see another metro game since it has soo much potential.

+ Extremely good looking
+ The world and characters feel very realistic and the world actually makes you afraid of it
+ A good mix of fps/survival

- I would like it to be slightly less linear and able to go back and check unexplored rooms.
-Doesn't feel like a survival game that Metro 2033 was, feels like more generic fps this time around
-No FoV slider!
-Twice encountered game breaking bugs which prevented me from progressing further
Overall 8/10

Better in every way, if you speak about grapgics, gameplay and I would say even story is better than 2033. In Redux version, there are even some bonus missions that expand the game further which is always nice.

Very climatic shooter.
You can actually make some choices in this game, from small ones (wait till gangsters execute people, or rush in and kill them before), to big ones (I'm not going to say, because it would be a spoiler).
Shooting is done excellent, human enemies hide behind cover and try to dodge your bullets, while monster enemies will either keep rushing you with their armored fronts or jump on you and try to stalk you from behind.
It can get really scary when you are covered with spider webs and spiders try to get you.
Game features also nice stealth system in areas with human opponenets and gas mask + air filter menagement in contaminated areas (walking on the surface).

100% recommended.

Review by xKraykoz [Eric].

The game Metro: Last Light Redux was a awesome experience. The athmosphere is really good, so is the story and combat.

Pros:
- Great story
- Really good graphics
- Good voice acting
- Challenges
- In game options
- Weapon modifications
- Other bonuses, at the end of game
- Side stories (at the end)
- Sneaky or Assault gameplay
- Ghosts
- People around are talking (mini stories)
- Naked women

Cons:
- May get stuck in game (missing gasmask)
- Only few jumpscares scared me (not so good horror)
- Only 4-5 mutants

I was enjoying the game quite a lot. I really loved how it was possible to just walk around and listen how other people are talking and see what they are doing (sometimes even got called a stalker). Really loved to hear an accordio playing somewhere, brought back old memories ( I played accordio myself ). Those little side stories made the experience last longer and made the story even more clear. Challenges were fun as well, I liked the item search quite a lot.

I recommend this game.

REVIEW

Metro Last Light: Redux is a sequel to the FPS based on the novel called "Metro 2033" written by Dmitriy Glukhovsky. Rather than being a faithful "Metro 2034" adaptation, its action is centred on Artyom and is set a year after the events presented in the original.

The game is set in post-apocalyptical Moscow. Years after the nuclear war, its surface is still inhabitable due to excessive radiation. Moreover, it is infested with mutated beasts, including the Dark Ones. The remnants of humanity (divided as ever) live in the Moscow underground metro tunnels. Artyom, the protagonist, is officially a member of The Rangers. The action begins by the arrival of Khan, a very spiritual Ranger. He announces that one of the Dark Ones have survived the missile strike and that the mutant is key to the future of humanity. However, Colonel Miller, a seasoned Ranger, believes that the mutant is a threat and that it should be neutralised. Since Miller is the one who calls the shots, the hunt is on. Artyom and Anna, Miller's daughter and a gifted sniper, are sent on a mission to kill the Dark One.

The story captivates right from the start, especially if one enjoyed the original game and/or the novels. One of the game's main strengths is definitely the ambience – the player lives and breathes the events and even though the plot is quite linear, there are a few ways of playing the game. Whether one prefers a stealthy approach or going in guns blazing, the game is intense and enjoyable. Speaking of guns, there is a variety of weapons and gear available, including firearms, knives, grenades, etc. The gunplay feels solid and satisfying. There are countless dangers waiting for Artyom. Apart from the aforementioned monsters, there also are bandits, Communists (did I mention bandits?), and the Fourth Reich. The game is reasonably challenging and I have not noticed any problems with the AI.

The graphics are marvellous and it is easy to get lost in the portrayed world. The sounds are great and the soundtrack is memorable. Adding to the immersive experience, there is a "Ranger Mode" which disables the HUD. The player will also find hidden Artyom's journal pages throughout the game which add more depth to the story.

All in all, I strongly recommend this game not only to the Metro 2033 universum fans. It is a very well-made FPS with a great story and stunning visuals. A 9/10.
