What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re releasing in Early Access because our initial goal was to release in April 2014 (with a lot less features that you are seeing now). But due to the overwhelming response and support from our Kickstarter backers and reaching over 1200% of our goal, we wanted to add a lot more content and features so we can bring you the best game possible! We’re still releasing in April, just in Early Access instead and with a lot more features implemented than we initially planned, and with a lot more still to come. Hop on for the ride!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We will be working on the game until both us and the community feels confident in the feature set presented, but that won't be the end of the game's development either! We have released nearly a patch a week since our Kickstarter ended, so we are fully dedicated to the success of the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Unlocked Stretch Goals:
3 Additional Game Modes [ALL GAME MODES HAVE BEEN ADDED!]
Mod Support (3D Models) [THIS HAS BEEN ADDED!]
RPG Kit (25 animated figurines, Dungeon Tilesets & Misc props) [THIS HAS BEEN ADDED!]
Steam Workshop Support [THIS HAS BEEN ADDED!]
Oculus Rift & CastAR Support
Customizable Figurines
Space Theme
and tons more!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Tabletop Simulator has all the fundamental features of the game ready for you to play. With over 15 games to choose from and the sandbox nature of the game, you are set to play hundreds of different games. In addition, you can create your own mods and upload them directly to Steam Workshop. The only limitation is of your imagination.

Tons of new content is still to come and your support will help make the game grow even more. Different features are subject to change and your feedback will help shape the direction we take the game for the better!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will increase when the game leaves early access so be sure to pick it up to save some dosh!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We love our community and are proud that we take our community seriously! With the updates almost every week since our Kickstarter ended, we've taken a lot of the suggestions and feedback they have given us and implemented them into the game! So it's very important to give us your feedback, so we can make Tabletop Simulator the best it can be!”

Update v4.4 Connection Fixes!

We’ve been working hard to create a better connection experience so everyone is able to connect and play in multiplayer on Tabletop Simulator. This update is short and sweet because the focus was fully on connection issues.

This patch adds proxy server support which allows players to connect to you that couldn’t before by routing the traffic through our servers. If you have had trouble with connection issues previously, when you start hosting, choose a proxy server that is closest to you and these issues should be resolved.

There could be unexpected downtime of the proxy servers as we validate them for all players. Please be patient during this time as we’ll be monitoring everything closely to ensure things are running smoothly on our servers and people are connecting.

Connection Proxy Server:
  • Added proxy support which should fix all connection issues.
  • The downside of using the proxy is players will have slightly higher pings.
  • Proxy is a fallback if port forwarding and NAT Punchthrough fails.
  • There are three proxy servers North America (NA), Europe (EU), and Oceanic (OC)
  • Choose the nearest proxy server when hosting a server for the lowest ping.

General Improvements:
  • Reduced the sound volume of the animated logo by half.

Fixes:
  • Fixed numpad enter not working for submitting UI elements.
  • Fixed the text/UI elements of the Tablet and Notecard not being hidden by hidden areas.
  • Fixed setting the resolution in windowed mode not applying.
  • Fixed URL confirmation window not appearing above the Tablet pop out window.
  • Fixed sideways deck status getting reset when searching a deck.

Stay up to date on development by following us on Twitter and Facebook!

As kids back in the day, Most of us used to play Tabletop games, but growing up in a world filled with advance technology changed that for most of us. Now we have jobs, smartphones, tablets, computers, lots of videogames, Social Media sites, and have little time to even consider whipping out an old board game. This game changes that, allowing you to play any board game in an open world sandbox with people from all over the world. You can even make your own games and play them with friends. This game is worth more than its asking price, because the devs put their heart and soul into this game. They always listen on the forums and update this game almost every week, unlike some other greedy developers I know. It's something fresh and new that almost never gets old compared to all the zombie and FPS games out there. They even have a workshop filled with thousands of player made games and steam cards and achievements. You must buy this game even if you wouldn’t even play it much, because it will eventually become an addiction.

Tabletop Simulator is easily one of my favourite games. Not only does the game come with inbuilt games of its own which are all great fun, but also realistic physics, and massive amounts of customisation. Custom decks of cards, tables, backgrounds, even a tablet to browse the internet or have a movie night with friends! I personally find the board games created by Tabletop Simulator's community to be great. Fun games such as Heroquest and D&D can be played with ease, and without having to throw out tons of cash for rulebooks.

Not only that, but also the community of Tabletop Simulator is great. I have met very few people that were unkind during my playtime, and it appears to me that the game has a very tight-knit community. Overall, I would say this game is very well made, and a very fun game to buy. Definitely worth the low price as well.

For anyone thinking about buying this game I can honestly tell you that this has been one of the most enjoyable purchases I have made on steam. The workshop mods alone make this game well worth the price. I started first looking through the steam workshop and found that any tabletop game I could think of was there and ready to play. Which is great because it is rare I have all my game playing friends anywhere near my tabletop collection. So its nice to be able to roll some virtual dice and play some board games online.
The gameplay can be a bit awkward sometimes (kind of depends on the game) but use the hotkeys for functions like, lock down game piece, or zoom in on card, can really help speed up game play and keep you from knocking pieces all over the board. If you do manage to destroy your board or someone gets mad and flips the table, you can simply undo step and the board has been reset to the last play before desaster struck. Another thing you might wonder about is hiding your cards so other players cannot see them. There is an area over your "seat" that you can place cards without others seeing, however if you need a larger area simply use the fog of war tool and your cards are safe from other players view.
In the time I have played Tabletop Simulator I have purchased a few tabletop games that I wouldn't have otherwise, due to the cost of some tabletop game titles. Being able to try them out with expansions and get a feel for the game really made the difference for me and I then had no problems sinking the money into the real thing. The game is constantly growing with more from the workshop and polish from the developers. Once again this is well worth the investment and has endless reply value.

What a wonderful game. This is the product I've been dreaming of since the day I started playing D&D. The amount of freedom and options is mind blowing. It leaves Roll20 and any other tabletop RPG software you ever used ages behind. This is the closest thing to playing with friends on the same physical space with an unlimited budget!

This game allows you with the access of the Steam workshop and the wonderful modding community to play any tabletop game you could possible think of. To really get the most out of this game play and create games with your online firends who you can't physically play tabletop games with. This is a absolutely must if you want to play classics that are unavailible online or if your in need to play with friends you can't meet to play.

This makes every tabletop game obsolete since you can get them FOR FREE in here or even MAKE THEM YOURSELF.

8/10-Pretty good, a bit hard to get into control wise at first, and takes time to load, but definitely worth your while!

I love this! It's so great getting to play board/card games with people all over the world. The controls take some getting used to since it's just a physics engine, but once you get the hang of it it's great. I have yet to try out making my own game, but just the fact that you can is awesome. It's also incredibly good as a way to try games before you buy them or simply just to play them. I mean, this is still doesn't come close to actually physically playing a game in person, but let's face it; games are damn expensive. Tabletop stuff usually runs $30 each minimum, often more, and it isn't always easy getting people over to play. My only problem with this game is that most of the workshop is copyrighted games.... which I will honestly still use while they are available but I wish there were a legit alternative since favorites like Munchkin get frequenty removed due to copyright claims. Berserk Games needs to try getting partnerships or deals with the actual game creators to allow us to use assets for free or a reasonable price. It won't stop the fan-made copies from popping up, but I'm sure others besides me would be ok with a fair price in exchange for it remaining easilly available.

TL;DR: Incredibly awesome game, but needs permissions from copyright holders to stop workshop content from being removed!

I am surprised with how much enjoyment I am getting out of this game. With just a basic physics engine and the option for custom models/cards gives you limitless potential for just about any board or tabletop game. Has also shown to be amazing for getting your friends back together for game nights like you used to back when everyone was younger, lived close to eachother and didn't have as many responsibilities.

Played Chess a fun game of chess with a friend. Afterwards watched the Shia Lebeouf Video on the ipad mini in game. Worth Every Cent.

In all seriousness, this is a great simulator for playing all your favourite board/card/pen and paper rpg games with friends.

The steam workshop is LOADED with a ton of content ranging from classic games not included in the 'vanilla' 'game', as well as many custom games designed by other players.

I strongly recommend you try this. Get your friends involved too! The more players the better!
