Why Should I Buy Early Access?

You can take part in creating the PC version of the game by communicating with us about your ideas and suggestions. The game is currently scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2014. Shape the game into something you want to play! By backing us now, you get to say your word on the design. Want a specific game mode? Don't think your favorite weapon is included? Let's hear it!
If there is enough interest and we raise enough money, we will also add multiplayer, co-op (players vs. zombies) and PvP. We also want to add language modifications.

Your support is absolutely vital to our efforts! We've decided to create the game without any investors, but to do that we need to find funding elsewhere. Doing it with our fans provides us with much more creative freedom.”

Big things have small beginnings!

It's finally here. Another huge step for our team, which will keep us alive. We've managed to find a partner for the development of our games - Synot.

Thanks to this lottery giant's considerable financial support, we were able to boost our development and bolster our ranks. Synot has also allowed us to have complete creative freedom. Together we have established a new company, BadFly Interactive a.s., with a goal to develop great games.

Our main goal is to finish our new title, Dead Effect 2, within the next 10 months. We’re also planning to finish work on Dead Effect 1 for the PC and MAC by Christmas of this year, including various language mutations.

Future Updates!

Hello everybody,

after a period of silence, we're back with news about the game.

The team is working hard on finishing and improving the game. We're closely watching all of your feedback on this forum and we're trying to solve the issues you're reporting to make the game the best it can be.

Currently, it is our goal to finish the entire game with all of its features within two months (if everything goes as it ideally should). The game could then be released at the beginning of November as the Beta version. It should have the Single Player Campaign including all the weapons and enemies, achievements and other features such as the Survival Mode and Biohazard Arenas.

Sadly, not all of the features you'd like to see can be implemented into the game. This is because the game's technology doesn't allow us to do so, since we didn't count with such features when we were originally creating the game. Trying to add them would mean changing its core techonology, which would set us back and add a lot of work.

If the game is finished and we are entirely happy with it, we would like to publish it before Christmas of this year.

All the best from

Dev. Team
Shissa

Early Access Review
Dead Effect is an Early Access game that is worth the time and the cheap price tag. For me the look and the intensity of this game was quite enjoyable.

In the past I've been quite dismissive of Early Access titles and this has been based on a few notorious titles and the comments of famous YouTube personalities. It's not a perfect or finished game, but this is one title you don't have to worry about.

The game environment reminds me of Doom 3, and likely takes some inspiration from it. I like the graphics and it runs just fine on my old computer. The sound and music are really good and contribute to the overall experience. The voice acting isn't so great, but it's passable.

At first the game feels really slow, because it is not possible to sprint or jump; you move at one speed. The zombies don't move fast either, but when hordes of them are coming for you, the experience feels tense. If you let a couple of zombies get too close you're finished. A lack of quick save and check points adds to the tension; you really want to finish each episode in one go. If you die continuation is possible, but it'll cost you some in-game cash (don't worry, no micro-transactions or in-game spending of real world cash).

The game does have an auto-heal option, but one must play long enough to earn the right to activate this feature. It'll become clear this isn't necessary by that time anyway. I recommend never turning it on.

Included are 6 playable episodes, as well as 2 extra game modes, Survival and Biohazard. Survival mode requires fighting for a specified time, and Biohazard requires defeating a fixed number of waves of zombies. It's pretty clear from the most recent July 17th, 2014 update that these guys are hard at work. Co-op and multiplayer options are expected to be included if the development team gets enough support and feedback.

For me the game was enjoyable. I recommend it to someone looking for a gory, old school FPS experience. Considering this game is made by a team of 5 guys, I have to say: GOOD JOB!

Early Access Review
It is no secret that I love this game. My firends have heard me talk about it, I've posted screenshots & videos. I just can't get enough of this game. Even as early access it has so much potential. With only 3 levels I have over 40 hours played and the devs are planning so much more content. Play this if you like horror games and/or shooters. It does have a heavy Doom feel to me (In a very good way, it doesn't feel like a rip-off), it really seems like something that ID would have developed. Of course it is early access right now so you have to accept some bugs like jump not working yet as an example. Of course I could live without the jump just saying know that it is early access and still pretty early in the development process. For the price you can't really go wrong, plus it looks like they will be adding multiplayer which will give it a whole lot more replay value. Also devs seem really responsive to the community which is another major plus.

Early Access Review
Dead Effect is yet another first person shooter with zombies, with some very good graphics and a pretty lengthy campaign, but also some issues with controls.Dead Effect is fully voiced, which is both a good and bad thing. It's good in that it creates a more immersive environment, which is already a bloody, dark and foreboding atmosphere, but bad in that the acting is not very good.Graphically, the game is top notch. All the various locations you visit pretty much look the same, but I guess that's expected from an industrial spaceship. The zombies are nicely detailed, and the atmospheric effects are great. At its core, Dead Effect is yet another fun shooter featuring everyone's favorite reanimated beings. You won't find anything new, but it offers a decent challenge, and has some great replayability in survival mode and trying to earn all the achievements. If you're a fan of violent, bloody, horror themed games, you'll find a good distraction in this one.

Early Access Review
Though still in early access, Dead Effect doesn't fail to impress. I was a fan of the game and played it on Android OS. It was a blast then, and now it's gotten a mouth watering graphics upgrade that really bring this game even more to life. I recommend to any fan of shooters and/or zombies. Really engulfing environment, and a good storyline. Get it...it's well worth the small price.

Early Access Review
Dead Effect is your typical Zombie Shooting game. It doesn't bring anything to new to the genre but for such a cheap game, you really do get alot. The graphics are very well done, and have a Doom 3 feel to them, but if Doom 3 was in HD. Music is well placed, having dramatic songs playing when facing a horde of zombies and really making killing zombies in the tight corridors feel even more intense than many other games of this genre.

The guns are upgradeable and you can purchase a nice selection, ranging from a pistol to a minigun. Being that the game is still early access, more are sure to be added to the game. The zombies are relatively smart, and can overwhelm you fast if you're not careful. The story is your typical "scientist-go-to-space-and-everything-goes-wrong-with-their-project" scenario, but can be interesting, moreso when you find tablets in the game, providing more background on what happened.

Bosses in the game make a nice change of pace from endless hordes. They each come with their own abilities and are not as simples as your average zombie, although there are (of course) some special types of zombies.

I recommend this game to anyone that was a fan of the Doom series, especially Doom 3, or anyone who simply loves shooting zombies.

Early Access Review
Dead Space & Mass Effect had a baby called Dead Effect, then Dead Effect got mixed up with Doom 3 then had a party at Killing Floor.
