Don't bother, the game is only 2/3 of the way complete and WB has cancelled the third installment of The Battle of Five Armies. The game is pretty fun, but ultimately unsatisfying. If you don't mind never completing a game or just want to play it, go for it. But I am pretty upset I bought it because I'll never be able to finish it. Like I said, fun up until the end, but I wish I hadn't bought it in the first place. Just play Lego: LOTR instead, it's more fun to play and also it's not a compressed screen, not like Lego: The Hobbit. It's incredibly disappointing that there won't be a conclusion, it's unfair of WB to do to their buyers. What it's done to me is left me disappointed with a throbbing headache, I can't stand it when I can't complete things, as I'm sure most of you can relate to. If you want to avoid disappointment, anger, frustration, and headaches...I'd say skip out on this game. You never get to speak with Thranduil again (which I admit I was so looking forward to! He's one of my favorites! He's such a lovable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥), you never get to see Thorin becoming sick like his father (also something that would have been great), defeat Smaug for real, OR, and most importantly OR, you NEVER EVER get to see the emotional ending of The Hobbit. Another thing that was disappointing, I'm sure most of us fans loved it when the Dwarves broke out into song at Bilbo's table. I was really hoping that would be added, but my hopes were crushed. It would have been a great thing to see. But I digress, the quality is much more clear in Lego: LOTR as well, this game is blurry and was a bit painful to focus on, just play that instead, that game is worth it. I wish I could give this game a recommendation, I really do. Up to the last 1/3 of the game, it was incredibly fun, it was fantastic even...very different from the other LEGO games I've played and I really liked that about it. If you like incomplete games, go ahead! If you don't and can't stand the endless frustration of never finishing a game, just...don't. Save yourself from this tom foolery and just watch the movies, read the books, play LEGO: LOTR...because there is a void you will never fill because it doesn't end. Do not allow this to happen to you because it is the worst feeling when you can't finish a game that was supposed to end...but never will...</3

I love Middle-Earth, Lego and games, so this is a fantastic game for me. The way they make these LEGO games are incredible, and I am fascinated over how much they have in the game. It is a shame they don't make any DLC or new game for the third part of (The Battle of The Five Armies) but it is still a game with hours of fun, and i am shocked over how people are not recommending this game because it doesnt have the last part of the book (or the last movie). totally worth every hour, and I recommend this game for everyone who likes humor and The Hobbit!

Maybe I should have read the description more carefully. It never crossed my mind that the game wouldn't cover the complete story of The Hobbit, and that it never will.

If you just love Lego games, and you don't care that the game ends after the second chapter, you'll probably like this game just fine.

Me, I feel cheated.

Not the best lego game I have ever played but it is still good. I feel like they where adding in to many new mechanics that it was a bit out of place in some points. Also canceling the DLC for the last movie is a big let down.

I find it highly disappointing that the game is unfinished. If there were plans for it to be finished with some DLC I would review this more positively. Over all the game is fun and interesting, but it ends far too soon. It also seems unfinished overall, after the final level it just dumps you out near where you started the level with no information on what you can or should do, it doesn't say that you completed the game or anything, i am pretty annoyed but the ending.

If you want to play this game just buy LEGO Lord of the Rings !! It is a better game than this and a completed one !! This has only the 2/3 of the story and the open world is the same as in LEGO Lord of the Rings (The only new places are "The Lonely Mountain","Mirkwood","Laketown" and "Dol-Gul Dur" (Which is very cool but LEGO Lord of the Rings has way more)

This game could be very fun, but they clearly didn't even try to optimize it for PC. I can only use my keyboard throughout the entire game, I can't even use my mouse in the menus. If I click the wrong button, I suddenly have two characters I have to control at the same time.
I will not play this anymore if this stays this crappy. Please actually try to make a PC game instead of throwing down a console one.

As many people here have already pointed out, the contents of the third movie are missing from this game.
Storywise that of course sucks, however you still get a decent amount of content from the game as it is.
LEGO The Hobbit is pretty much everything you'd expect from a Lego game. It's pretty much easy entertainment with a few challenges, but nothing you'd really get stuck on.
I'm not sure if I would enjoy this game all that much just playing it by myself, but it works excellent as a local co-op game and me and my girlfriend had a lot of fun fighting our way through hordes of orcs and other evil doers.
The fact that the content of the third movie apparently won't even be released as a DLC really really sucks, but I will still give the game a thumbs up, because the game in itself was a lot of fun.

This game has got a lot of hate for not being finished, and I am upset it's not being finished, but what they did do is really good! I'm currently at 52% of total completion, and its a fun pastime after the story mode to go around by yourself or with a friend to try to find all the secrets! It's helpful that if you have only one steam controller, one person can play on the controller and the other on the keyboard. The thing I don't like is that to achieve 100% completion, you have to buy all of the DLC.

I'm quite a big fan of the LEGO games, mainly for these three reasons: they're highly replayable, enjoyable and casual. Hours of gameplay can easily be put into a single LEGO game for unlocking extra collectables or other LEGO characters among many other things. Just like in other LEGO games, LEGO The Hobbit is an addictive and light-hearted experience that will take hours for LEGO- and Lord of the Rings-fans alike to complete and perfect, but that's also it's main problem just like with any previous LEGO title... it's more or less the same.

The Pros:
· LEGO The Hobbit stays true to the new popular prequel trilogy (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug and the upcoming The Hobbit: There and Back Again) in both story and lore. Just like in LEGO Lord of the Rings you'll play through the three movies (There and Back Again announced to be DLC when the final movie is released) with some added humorous elements, like silly LEGO figurines holding an umbrella above their heads in order to avoid being hit by falling bricks.
· Didn't get a chance to watch the movies? This game will tell you the same story with entertaining LEGO moments and buildable & destructable LEGO constructions to add a ton of extra content without ever forgetting about the story that needs to be told. Don't let that keep you from buying LEGO The Hobbit if you have already watched The Hobbit movies released so far though! I have seen both movies plenty of times (six times each) and I still find this game just as enjoyable if not a bit more entertaining than watching the movies. It adds an open world LEGO experience that stays true to both LEGO-imagination and the same beautiful world we've seen in The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings trilogy by Peter Jackson.
· There's a ton of stuff to do, like collecting items for crafting (which is an entertaining new addition to the LEGO series), sidequests, replaying missions with certain characters in order to get all the level-specific collectables (for example: Legolas can create a "staircase" of arrows and dwarves can't) or simply running around destroying constructions to collect LEGO studs that will help to fill up your Master Burglar meter. Still...

The Cons:
· That's more or less exactly what we've been doing in the past couple of LEGO games. For those who are not as interrested in the Lord of the Rings universe as I am among many many others, the game(s) can quickly get repetetive and lose their charm. Someone who has played LEGO Marvel Superheroes for example will find lots of simularities. Don't get me wrong, the game offers a lot of content, but if you've spent countless hours collecting every single collectible in any previous LEGO title, I'll doubt you'll want to do the same with LEGO The Hobbit.

The Visuals:
· The visuals are quite simular to LEGO Marvel Superheroes, which is a good thing. LEGO The Hobbit is a combination of LEGO-built structures and normal textures (for example, roads and mountains are not (or not always) made from LEGO bricks). The lighting is gorgeous and the animations are charmingly funny. Overal LEGO The Hobbit is another beautiful addition to the LEGO series.

Final Verdict:
· Hardcore LotR-fans and casual gamers alike will definately enjoy LEGO The Hobbit. With a high replayability and even bigger satisfaction, LEGO The Hobbit is a worthy addition to both the LEGO universe and the Lord of the Rings universe. 9/10.

This is the one game I allow my 6 year old son to play. We play together one level per week on the weekend. Suprising enough I look forward to it as much as he does. The simplicity of playing a game like this is really enjoyable. The voice acting is excellent (it should be since it is taken right from the films). If you're a parent looking for a safe game to enjoy with your kid(s); this is it.
