You probably already know if you like Spreadsheet Simulators or not. If you do, and I do, then this one has enough depth, fun theming and addictive qualities that I have already happily wasted a couple of hours guiding my indie lesbian studio through the fifties. (There just weren't enough family friendly lesbian films back then... until I came along.)
I am getting so much fun and so much "just one more turn!" out of this that it gets my recommendation. It's inexpensive, and well worth the money. However, I do have a major caveat: it doesn't seem finished enough for full release.
Quite a few of the NPCs are lacking portraits, and I don't care what their visual appeal stat is, I have a real block against hiring a leading actress when I have no clue what she looks like. It really bugs me. The backgrounds available aren't well themed or much use in creating memorable posters, and I just make too many movies to want to make them separately and import them. The tutorial really needs a grammar check, and numerous glitches in the awards ceremony (actors under contract to me getting nominations for films from other studios, the same film apparently competing against itself...) are mild irritants.
So. It's good, cheap, addictive fun. I can forsee wasting many more hours on it. I just wish the care that went into creating it had also gone into sending out a polished product.
Now I need to go back to establishing a top selling animated series about two girls in love, filmed in Adelaide, Australia.
