X: Tension. A old classic. I bought this on steam, because its the only X game which I havent played.
Iam not dissappointed! Its AMAZING.
There are some flaws - you have to play the game at 4:3 resolution. I also had to fiddle with the admin & launch mode settings.
But it got solved within a couple of minutes, so they dont matter.
So, here it goes: X: Tension is a old, classy space simulator, where you are thrown in a big, opened universe, which is settled by alien races which have stations, patrol ships, transporters. There are also pirates, who trade with weed & booze, and hunt down freighters.
You, as a player, will find yourself in the middle of universe, in friendly space of Argon Federation, sitting in a small vessel called "Buster". Your reputation is neutral with all races (except for the Xenons), so its up to you what you want to do!
You can trade wares (based on demand and offer), fight enemies, build your empire, do missions for people, explore the universe. Or join the pirate cartel and be nasty.
This really is the king of all sandbox games (if we think away other X games).
One thing to notice is, that this game is very hard to master. The economy and game logic is very complex, lot of patience is needed.
But overall, I cannot do less than give 10/10 to this game.
To be honest, I prefer to avoid old games, because I cannot immerse in the gameplay because of outdated graphics.
But this game... This is a masterpiece.
