Ok..I really don't bother with doing a review with most games..Kind of like "If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all" which was the way I was raised..But anyways......This game is so worth my time to give you feed back..It's one of my fav's far as HOG's go...Which by the way saves me, cuz I play alot of strategy games which can sort of melt your mind in higher levels, so it's nice to have the laid back feel of a HOG!...This has a pretty good story..but where this shines is the voice acting and puzzles, add this to very nice graphic's and you got a winner!..So from one HOG lover to another, this is not a let down (even if you pay full price)..Hope you enjoy it as much as I have, CHEERS ;-)

I thought that this P&C/Hidden Object game was one of the better I have played. It is a little on the easy side so playing on the highest difficulty is best. The story is fine, but it is the polish that really worked for me. The music and graphics are solid and the hidden object puzzles are actually scenes that make sense instead of a random assortment of meaningless objects. That attention to detail is rare.

In addition, the bonus content for the game is really added playtime. It is not just a rehash of the places and puzzles you have done before.

Overall, a really good game in this genre.

The good: Enjoyable ambient sounds, voices, and music. Has a fairly good art style; more light fantasy steampunk for most of the game (as opposed to some of the dark gritty steampunk types you can find). You can turn the visual hints for puzzles on or off depending on the difficulty. Some of the puzzles are challenging, and the hidden objects puzzles are fun (although on the easy side).

The bad: It's rather short (I have 10 hours on record, but most of that is because I walked off to get lunch and stayed away from my computer and forgot to exit out of the game). The game takes certain tools out of your inventory once you use them; I guess it's not uncommon with this type of game, but I find it really annoying when I have to go hunt down another tool to do a job when I just had one that could have worked and it was taken away because reasons.

General info: Gameplay is a linear point-and-click story with logic/hidden object puzzles thrown in every so often. The story is a little cliché, but otherwise ok.

Overall: If you like point-and-click puzzlers or hidden object games, this is a fun little afternoon jaunt; I would recommend it.

I truly enjoyed this game. There is a cat in Ink's Story (the bonus episode). You give him catnip.

This game is exactly what you'd expect from Artifex Mundi- an entertaining story, fun puzzles, some funny references, and some cute animals throughout! (Wish there had been more of the latter, alas) I enjoyed this game- and there were bugs (hence the achievement "Too Many Legs", but they were all mechanical, so I will not complain). Matthew, you're mechanical bird helper, is adorable, and helps out in some silly, but altogether needed ways.

The game is overall easy, and doesn't take long to complete, which may be a selling point to some. It has a fun story, and interesting characters- one of which sings "Soft Kitty" from The Big Bang Theory- huh? All in all, I definately recommend this game! My only gripe (and again, this is a game with robot creepy crawlies) is that at one point I had to throw a snowball at an innocent, bystanding owl. Not cool, Artifex, not cool. Other than that devastating act of wildlife abuse, I was delighted in the overall gameplay.

Just another reason I will always trust in Artifex Mundi! (Just remember AM, there's no such thing as too many cute animal friends)
