Needs online multiplayer. I think the problem is some of these may be ports from mobile versions. It's also very low priced, but I would rather pay more for online MP. The user interface in the menus is confusing, but you get used to it. Wondering why things like petting zoo are used in campaign mode, but locked for single player. Otherwise ok board game. Friend of mine is not interested in playing because it lacks depth, but the expansions would help a bit with that.

It's a decent digital adaptation and a fun game. I played a few games and enjoyed it. The theme is just way too childish to enjoy if you're over 10 years old though, and that's what keeps me from playing it any more.

Sim city + Zoo + Treehouse TV (TV for under 4 year olds) = This game

Pro:
Single & Multiplayer
Currently on sale for 85% off - $1.16
Clean kiddy graphics
Easy to learn
Low system spec

Con:
AI
High luck dependancy (vs skill)
Slow gameplay
Phone / Tablet Port
No cards / achieves
The boardgame is actually more fun

Overall:
5/10 -1 port -1 AI +1 family friendly = 4/10 +1 if you get it for under $1.25 (like now) = 5/10

This is not a game your going to play for 1k hours, unless you have wee beasties who want to play with you. It's $1-2 worth of casual fun tops.

For me it's just not that fun at full price.
Thumbs up on the current sale, thumbs down otherwise.

Fun board game. The wife really likes it and its a great simple game for friends. It works with touch screen on my surface pro really good, so thats always a plus. We beat the "campaign", and have played numerous games together and with friends. Not a ton of strategy involved, but it is entertaining.

A digital adaptation of the board game, that does a good job of recreating the experience. However, not being a fan of the original board game it offers nothing to me to recommend.

This review's not about the game as such, but the fact I can't even play it. I get to the new profile screen and the OK button (or whatever it is) isn't visible on the limited screen.
I recommend people not waste there time downloading this.

you only get every round a new animal which you can NOT select by your own choice (like drawing cards in poker) and place it in one of your 4 Cages. wait 4 next round .....

THATS IT !!!! NO GAMEPLAY AND NO FUN AT ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's no online multiplayer and it's very clearly an adaption of a tablet game. You can't use your keyboard to type in your name, you have to click the letters. The game only launches in fullscreen and even then only goes up to a resolution of 1280x800.

I own the board game version of this, and was excited when I found it here on Steam. Zooloretto offers a fairly quick, semi-strategic game, with cute presentation. It is perfect for children and those who enjoy a good, casual board game.

The pros: quick easy games, with no setup; a moderately challenging AI; in-game challenges add to replayability; customized items and characters purchased with earned winnings; great "together" game to play with spouse and/or child.

The cons: AI is respectable, but not too difficult to manipulate; no online multiplayer (though this may not matter for some, like me); the soundtrack can get a little bit old after a while.

For $9.99, this game is a pretty decent deal, and almost anyone who enjoys board games will get their money's worth. For the $5.99 I got it for on sale, its a steal, and will see far more play than games I've paid substantially more for.

This game is sort of like battle tetris only with animals, and more players. The music is good zoo music so it keeps you going, there is strategy involved as the game goes on more players are added with a higher difficulty but nothing impossible. The gameplay revolves around a truck that delivers animals, you fill an enclosure with animals and win the game. The replay ability is high since its pretty straight forward without much of a learning curve making it a good time killer that you can quit or play anytime, the rounds arent too long or to short, their just about right, with the chance to open exotic zoo's all over the world. There is customization available and you can buy all the characters you see in the game to play as your own zoo keeper, plus a christmas mode which is time activated to work around christmas.

*The multiplayer listed on the store page means its local meaning I think both people need to be playing together on the same computer and Im not sure how that would work, there is no way to search matches online I found.

Short Verdict: As a great fan of the tabletop game, Zooloretto was a big disappointment to me. It's a set-collection, tile-placement board game which is really fun to play. But this port falls short mostly because of its poor AI and the lack of online multiplayer. You should stick to the original game, because this version just isn't fun. If it ever enables online multiplayer support, however, I'll definitely change my review and go back to playing it.

Pros:
  • As the original, the game has nice mechanics a decent amount of replayability
  • Cute graphics, including variations to the zoos around the world
  • Pleasant and varied BGM
  • Has a shop that allows you to buy stuff that might improve your experience (no real money involved!)
  • The challenge level is good in general
  • Each campaign stage has one or more specific objectives, which might either unlock postcards or net you extra victory points in the match, and that forces you to change your play style a bit

Cons:
  • The AI is either too obvious and predictable, or too dumb, to the point of frustration
  • Porting a game like Zooloretto to PC and not allowing for online multiplayer should be considered a federal offense, really. If it had online multiplayer, I could've avoided the terrible AI and would probably recommend and play this game.
  • Most of the stuff you buy in the game is useless
  • Many objectives too luck-dependent (eg.: One stage asks you to have 2 baby flamingos in the baby enclosure. For that, you'll need all 4 out of 4 fertile flamingos, which your opponents may get, and, btw, they may not even be drawn during the match)
  • The game flow was really slow for me, especially when I was quickly done for the round and had to just watch the computer play
  • No windowed mode and resolution doesn't go over 1280x800

Bought on / for: I had it on my wishlist for a while and a friend had a spare and gave it to me. (Thank you, Bio!) Still, it was worth trying! I'd probably end up buying it on sale someday (and being equally disappointed).

From what I can tell this is a a very basic port of an iPad version. For iPad this game might be fine... for PC, no.
Problems:
-No online multiplayer, only local multiplayer, which is NOT made nearly explicit enough in the description. I bought this assuming it had online multiplayer.
-Terribly limited resolution options.
-No ability to play in windowed mode, only full screen, despite the fact that it won't even take advantage of my monitor's common resolution.
-Some very stupid interface/porting issues. e.g. When naming your profile you can't even use the keyboard to input, you're forced to click on the onscreen keyboard, like you would on a tablet.

As unpronounceable as I may find the title, Zooloretto is hands down the zaniest zoo game I've played today!

No but seriously, this is surprisingly fun to play. It's neither mindless nor particularly taxing and the random nature of crates gives each hand a unique feel. If you're looking for a game suitable for the ages 5-I'm exhausted from work and want somethign casual to click on, this might be worth a buy.

Game play involves players turning over face down loot cards in a rotation and then dividing them into piles. Players can take a pile and end their play for the round on any of their turns. They can also manage the zoo by spending coins and buy animals out of other player's barns. Definitely more depth than I expected at first. Really easy to get the hang of although there are some interesting strategies involved in trying to encourage or discourage another player from taking a pile based on what animals are in their zoo. I would totally play this as a table game on game night if I had a physical copy.

Wow, this is a really bad implementation of this game. No tooltips, mouseover help, or anything else useful during gameplay. There are some hotkeys shown before the match that, as far as I can tell, are the only way to access those features during play (and at least one of them, "money actions" is pretty important). Can't get a menu to show up during play. Can't play windowed OR at a reasonable resolution. This is really sloppy.

A faithful representation of the actual boardgame. Being able to boot up and play a solo game, or use the campaign-like setting is a great timesaver if you don't want to set up the game at home.

AI seems to be very fairly made.
