Perhaps you have already played CTSF series on gameboy advance. Those games was similar to Metal Slug series but this time CTSF:FFE is a third person shooter. Raptor and Stealth Owl are back and now in 3D world.
And certainly gameplay changed a lot-
  • No more infinite pistol ammo. And unlike other shooter games you cannot pick up weapons and ammo from enemies. Ammo conservation bothers me all the time.
  • Our heroes can jump in 2D world but now in 3D world they cannot jump. That could be good news - you don't need to jump across gaps. But falling damage still exists.
  • Our heroes have more gameplay differences. In 2D world the only difference between the two is their special weapon: Raptor's special weapon was a grenade launcher while Stealth Owl's special weapon was a shotgun. Now Raptor has a energy shield, and Stealth Owl have a optical camoflage and a multi-functional nightvision similar to Sam Fisher.
But the cloak mode is useless. Enemy sniper will shoot you on sight even a mile away. They don't yell "come out and fight" at the yankee coward. They just know you are there. If enemies spot you before you switch on cloak they can still see you after you cloak. And the N3-S rifle (actually M4) sight reticle just disappear after cloaking.
And the energy shield seems cannot block explosions. If ever an enemy fires a rocket at you you will die instantly unless you roll twice to one direction. The explosion radius is so large, and if you get caught in the radius you will just die. You don't receive less damage enough for you to survive.
  • Only Stealth Owl can perform HALO jump. This time you don't need to control the height and position to open the chute. The free fall phase become an independent level and enemies will try to attack you - they will drop some soldiers falling with you and launch SAMs locking on you. So what's the point of the air drop? With an F-117 stealth bomber? Covert insertion with enemy already know your presence?
  • Bullets travel far more faster.
  • Cover system.
And I have to admit the vehicle control is terrible. It's similar to Borderlands, vehicle will try to turn and move to the direction your mouse pointing at. But most parts of the map is narrow. There is a level controling a hovercraft in a flooded city. I always got stuck.
I don't think this game is bad but I wouldn't give it a positive review either.

I have no idea why I love this game. It came out in 2005 and the graphics are decent and it seems to run smoothly on any computer. Although the story is forgetable and the characters are too, I mean seriously instead of their "Badass" names I called them Sterotypical white action man and Sterotypical white stealth man or actiony and stealthy for short, it was pretty alright gameplay and AI thats not the best but becomes really fun because of that. The controls are...odd to say the least luckily you can remap them and I advise you do although keep track which button is which as you may need to use something thats remapped to something else. All in all it's a fun game especially for 2005 if you're bored and you have the time and money get this game its not the best but certainly not the worst.

For its time it is an ok game.
No bugs, nor glitches spotted.
AI is simplistic.
Story is like an 80ies action movie.
Graphic style is simplistic, too - but flawless.
No optimization problems spotted.

Okay, this game most certainly does not deserve the incredibly negative reception it's gotten. For an indie (yes, it is an independent developer, regardless of some peoples' weird ideas of indie) studio without a triple A budget, this is a solid, fun, bug-free exercise in tactical shooting.

I know ima get a lot of dislikes but i enjoyed the game a lot. These types of games brings me back to my good ole days. In 2005 i was playing area 51, evil dead regeneration, and Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas. During this time this game was a blast!! But, as time moves on, graphics get updated, and etc.. We become more picky on what games are fun now. Some go for graphics, some go for story, and etc. I enjoyed the game in 2005 and i enjoyed the game in 2015. Found some bugs, but they werent too big to mess me up.

Pro:
Minimal System Specs
Tutorial is useful
cover system
Driveable cars
keys can be remapped

Con:
Dated graphics that fit nicely with the sub-par story line.
Limited graphics options
Default Controls are terrible
minor bugs

There are old games that make you want to go back and play them, this one doesn't belong on that categorie, it's not because of the graphics but because it was terrible gameplay.

Let me just start with this, the game is kinda what would happen if Call of Duty and Metal Gear had a baby, a low budget baby. There are two people you play as in the game, Raptor and Owl (you switch between them every level), Raptor is just your average run and gun kinda guy, witch kinda makes his levels repetitive seeing as how all you really do in your basic 3rd person shooter is shoot people, not to mention his voice actor is awful, he sounds as if he's just a guy they pulled off the street and asked him to read the script. Owl is kinda the only reason I'm giving this a positive, you sneek around the area killing the terrorists as quickly and safely as possible using silenced guns (which don't seem to usfull since the terrorists don't notice either way) and snipers, not to mention the three visor modes and the camo (which isn't that helpful with sinpers cuz they seem to notice you no matter what). Don't buy this game at full price, it's not worth $10 I can tell you that much, buy it when it's half off, it's worth at least that much

Might be a decent enough game even though it does not in any way seem impressive by todays standards. Technical problems ruins the experience though. No support for common hd resolution is bad enough but the game upscales in some weird way and the cursor you see do not match with the "real" cursor in the game. The controls are also a mess and the options menu is lacking to say the least. This mess is probably enough to make people like me who did not play the game back in 2005 lose interest in the game.

Con:
$10 for a game that should be $2 (tops)
Dated graphics that fit nicely with the sub-par story line.
Cannot screen capture, no cards, etc.
Limited graphics options
Controls are not good (not percise)
Reallllly needs multi-player or Co-Op. Then the game may be fun.

Overall: 5/10 -1 for controls, -1 for price, -1 for story, +1 for system specs = 3/10 (Get when on sale for 90% + off)

This is not a good game. It's not bad either. It's just a dated, overpriced ho hum FPS. Save your money and get a new game if your into FPSers. If you can get it for under $2 or in a bundle, give it a try. Otherwise just play something else on steam.

I remember playing this game as a kid. Shooting bad guys, taking down helicopters, riding that boat thing. So, when I found , that this game is on Steam, nostalgia just punched me right in the face.
Maybe this game is old, compared to the newer ones, maybe it isn't as realistic as other games, but still - it's hell of a fun. Just running around and shooting everyone you see can entertain you for some time. So, I recommend people to play this game - it's really fun.

Make no mistake, this game is not good.

It is, however, a throwback to a simpler time. Back when we didn't google for reviews and gameplay footage before we bought a game. Or we didn't buy games ourselves at all.
My mom got this game for me when I was 12. She didn't know anything about video games, but knew that I liked the ones with soldiers in them. I didn't have a point of reference for what made a good game or a bad game, having never really played any good ones at the time. So she brought this home, and I played it. And it was awesome. Sure, the graphics were crap and the voiceacting was laughable and all that, but right then, as I played it, it was the best game ever.

So I saw it on steam the other day. And I bought it, and played it again. The options-menu contains nothing of use, only resolutions that don't actually exist, no texture settings, and a very confusing key-binding section. The game is poorly optimized, and barely runs on a modern PC. The framerate is too high, which screws up the cutscenes and makes voice-clips play atop one another. The game has a cover system, but it's entirely useless since enemies die in one or two hits, and their AI is simplistic, at best. The controls are floaty and fast, and the gunplay is limp. And it's the best. It's an absolutely awesome throwback to a time where I was a kid, and games didn't have to be any good to be fun.

I don't know if you'll enjoy this one if you don't have any nostalgia for it, but if you're looking to waste a few hours with some fun, dumb, poorly made run'n'gun action, I can think of nothing better to play. It's pretty awful, and I love it for that.

Ok, I can say this is a game that aged a bit graphics wise BUT that doesnt impact the gameplay, the game is fast paced and may require trial and error.

Just a tip though, when the launcher appears change the grenade switching controls, it will be bound to page up and page down.

Good game until the 17th mission where you have to parachute down while hundreds of missiles shoot at you and your only defense is to shoot at them with a rifle. Then after that, theres more missiles, and if you are out of ammo? Good luck getting past that. Id reccomend buying it while its on sale only.

Recommended if you dont mind the few issues due to modern hardware

Issues being:
Does not lock the mouse to the game on dual monitor setups
Game runs a bit fast, not so bad in gameplay but FMV's can be a mess (VSync Forced on Overlay.exe may help)

Broken game; Can't pause, no skipping cutscenes, no options whatsoever, and you can't even finish the last mission because there's no actual means of continuing. The game randomly starts up and I can't close steam because of it nor does it even give me a window for the game to close. I cannot foce close the application and when I actually do beat a mission the lack of a continue button (let alone an in game menu) means that I have to Alt+Tab out and close the window itself.

I would demand a damn refund if I could for this broken game. It's not even worth the $.99 I spent on it.
