About This Game

It is a misty evening in the year of our lord 1912. The Pattersons, a poor but proud aristocratic family of the British nobility, and some of their closest friends, arrive at the castle Malachi residence of a wealthy Romanian Count. It is only three days until the family's eldest daughter, Rebecca, is to be wed to the count's son, uniting the family with the rich heritage of the Malachi, hopefully restoring its glory.

The only person missing is you, the brother of the bride, who is on your way from Stockholm, where you have defended the Union Jack in the noble art of fencing in the Olympics. You are to arrive later during the evening.

Sir Patterson is disappointed when the Count himself doesn't greet the family at their arrival, but still he lets the servants show them all to their rooms, without complaining too loudly. It is not until later--when the doors are slammed shut and locked behind them, that he realizes his mistake that they have become prisoners and are at the Count's mercy...

  • Highly intense, first-person shooter, survival horror
  • Enemies appearing shock style from everywhere
  • A massive gothic castle with hundreds of rooms awaits your arrival
  • The random architecture generator changes the layout of the castle and location of the characters every time you play
  • Non-linear style game play, where different parts of the castle can be explored in whatever order you want
  • Pick up and bring your foes down with classic vampire slayers like holy water, crucifixes, and wooden stakes or old-fashioned firearms like flintlock guns and muskets
  • Some vampires can only be slain with specific weapons, which challenges the player's weapon tactics
  • Spine-chilling scores and sound effects seamlessly orchestrated to keep you on the edge of your seat
  • Eerie 3D-graphics with real-time lighting, grainy screens, fog, and mist to give you that classic horror feel

Nosferatu is a first-person shooter set in a massive gothic castle. You play as James Patterson, an Englishman traveling to Romania for the wedding of your sister Rebecca to the mysterious Count Malachi. The gameplay is just as straightforward as the plot, cribbed from a thousand novels and movies. Developer Idol FX makes game with random monster spawning and an abbreviated plot heavily reliant on key quests. It's dark, hard and long(or short because you have limited time before vampires start to eat your family).

Walked into a room searching for family when I saw an unknown figure, I shot it before the AI could react. Turns out I shot one of the people I was looking for. I sighed in disappointment.

A horror, religion fiction survival games about vampire. You are required to explore the castle full with undead, dark creatures, a long of wild dog. Your objective is save some survival people who are trapped in castle, and beat all those creature's ♥♥♥♥. The suspense is really tense though, and kinda hard.

Fast-action, horror shooter with some great replayability, dynamic and challenging gameplay, and some rather impressive graphics for its original release date. I picked up the game for .99 and was extremely pleased with my purchase.

Nosferatu is very engaging due to its immediate ticking clock mechanism, smooth controls, fantastic atmosphere, and high-paced action. The creatures the player encounters are varied and each require specific weapons or attacks to defeat, keeping the player on edge for the duration of play.
The only negatives (which are minimal for a .99 cent game of this value) are some of the path-finding for the family members, invisible enemy bugs (which actually works thematically and can be ignored), the sheer size of the castle and how easy it can be to get lost. For the cost this is a no-brainer and will provide the player with hours of horror shooter action.

I think the overall idea of the game i quite good. But the way it's delivered is bad. The combat mechanics seem to be really clonky and it's hard to even do reasonably well even in easy mode (either no ammo or getting mauled by demon thingies or both). There also seem to be too much things jumping at you as you enter each new room. I'd give this game 3/10 stakes that I never got to use on vampires.

Probably the only good game about vampires and such. The atmosphere is really well done and I felt a little creeped out. Only issue is some minor technical problems. Overall 9/10.

An overall pretty good experience. It's actually short enough to keep you entertained for one evening (I saw the ending after 4.5 hours).

The obsolete graphics and the bulky melee controls may dissapoint you at first, but after getting into the game for about 1.5 hours, you'll really begin to enjoy it. Try to save your family from the fangs of the evil Count!

The Good:
+ Atmosphere
+ Fast game pace and progression
+ Weapons
+ Story and concept
+ Enemies (bosses included)

The Bad:
- Some minor bugs (like invisible enemies)
- Some minor illogicalities (like the procedure to save the last two family members)
- Quite short

The Ugly:
- The graphics, oh gawd...

Give this game a shot and don't forget to install the widescreen resolution patch as well. I've seen way worse titles from that era.

7/10

By the way, this game includes one of the most badass grandfathers of all times. You have been warned.

This is my favorite PC game.

I've grown up with games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame etc. Then i discovered Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi. This game is for me a synonym to survival horror game. It has perfect atmosphere and suitable weapons against Evil.

WARNING! This game has bad graphics and sound. It's buggy as hell. Hit detection screws you over.

Have fun.

>Walking down a hallway

>Hear something go "ROUADUDHHASUHUGUHUGUGU" at 3x the volume should be.

>Spazzes out, wasting all the bullets and missing the monster that made the initial sound.

9/10, One of the best games in the genre

Pros:
Easy to get into
Excellent atmosphere
Extremely fun and playable
Great inventory system
Great replayability

Cons:
Poor options menu
Poor animation quality
A few nongamebreaking bugs

Overall to me this game would be a 10/10 if it weren't for a few small technical issues. It's over a decade old and I would still recommend this to anyone, new and old gamer alike. It was obviously made by someone with a great vision for game design, but lacking a few technical skills to get everything just right.

Don't mind the short logged play time. If you want to change the graphics options you have to start it from the launcher in the game directory. If you click play through that Steam doesn't track the time. I did play it :P

I'm not going to beat around the bush: This game owns. It's a conditional sort of owning, the kind where the game itself is 13 years old and rough around the edges, but if you can get past that it is a fantastic experience. Your character is meeting your family at a totally-not-creepy-at-all eastern European castle for your sister's wedding, and you arrive in the dead of night to discover the castle is a den of horrors. It's a first-person action game that moves like the Quake II/Half-Life 1 era games, so be prepared for sliding around at 40mph with your cane sword and crucifix. You'll be glad of it soon enough, because the enemies are quick and relentless and you'll need to do some sidestep dancing if you want to survive.

The big draw here is that there's a whole castle to explore to find your family members, and it's randomized with each new game. I've found the layout doesn't change too dramatically, but the locations of enemies and items (including essential items like keys) vary immensely. The first time I played, the East Wing key was sitting right out in the open for me to take, but the second time I had to delve into the cellars and wrest it from a pair of vampires. You find a wide assortment of weapons and tools with multiple uses, like stakes that can be used to pin bloodsuckers or burn as light sources. And you'll need to use them, too, because enemies in this game do not ♥♥♥♥ around.

Again, this game is 13 years old, and looks and feels the part. But as long as you can get past that there's a deep game of terrifying exploration here. The atmosphere is excellent, with dramatic lightning and some chilling musical cues. This one's definitely a stand-out.

Lets start off with the Negatives just to get it out of the way. Currently there are 0 graphics options in this game like none what so ever. The graphics are olllllld like Clive Barkers undying but slightly uglier at least by todays standards. I grew up with a Nintendo entertainment system so when the quake stuff game to market that is why my heart was and always will be I don't need smancy graphics

So Negative summary
* Graphics (depeding on when you grew up not a real issue for me)
*No resolution options D:

Postives list
*Rogue like difficulty and if you don't save you can play it like a rogue like this game does not auto save
*Randomly generated castles :D
* AI is very creepy has no Tehtering( this means monsters will follow you freely until you dispatch of them D:
* Real Survival horror.... none of that RE4 crows drop grenades ,you have limited ammo and health Runnnnn RUNNNNNN
*Lots of Atmosphere
* Fairly compitent sound design :D

hope this helps you decide on getting the game or not ^_^
