If you are kind of bored of the dead serious classic jrpgs that doesn't feel serious in the first place (I mean all the mediocrity of the gender, not things like Persona or Shin Megami Tensei) then what's better than a game who is making fun of all this, Hyperdimension Neptunia is one of those few games who are paroding a game gender, now if you aren't into fanservise and anime you will have a bad time (unless like me you like JoJo's Bizarre Adventures and Kamen Rider because that's everywhere in this game) so this is the kind of game who is pretty selfaware of his own averageness (if that's how it's writen) and does a great job with it's job, it's not a great game by any standar but it's at least something to be enjoy as what it is.

PS: I love this game a lot so before some fanboy start telling me that is deserves more, I'll say that this game isn't trying to be more of what it is, deal with it. And if you want a score:
Game itself: 6/10
My friking internal fanboy: 9/10

Hyperdimension Neptunia... I've heard of this game from a weird place. I play League of Legends, and there was a custom skin turning a champion named Ekko into NepNep, and I thought she was a cute character, so I did.

Found this during Steam Summer Sale and well... bought 3 games for 15 bucks or something like that, what a steal.

I love Re; Birth 1. I never could get into classical RPG's, I'm kinda trash at them, but this is one I'm sorta good at! Until well, the stupid enemy AI bug that makes them idle, and constantly makes it difficult to eVEN LEVEL IN MECHTRO FACTORY TO BEAT ♥♥♥♥ING WHITE HEART OR WHATEVER TF-

*breathes*

Please Idea Factory. I'd like to beat this game without getting stuck trying to grind levels. The only way to fix this is by a guide made by some random person, and it's frustrating cause why do I need to make a .bat file when you could just FIX IT.

Help me, I hate this bug and it's ruining the game for me, but I can't stop ♥♥♥♥ing playing it.

TL;DR: If you dislike anime, then you already know you shouldn't even be reading the reviews. If you do like anime, your money would be better spent on ♥♥♥♥ing Sakura Spirits. If you're an otaku your money is better spent on a body pillow.

Don't fall for the "/v/'s favorite game" meme.

This """""game""""" is ♥♥♥♥. The story is okay but everything else is just an open world visual novel with lewd CG. The gameplay (if there really is any) is very repetitive. I'll walk you through every battle you will ever have in this game which is 90% of what you do:
- see a monster
- walk up to monster
- hit monster before it hits you
- start actual combat
- strategically manuever 2-4 characters in a small circle which you can't walk out of
- use 3 different types of moves against the monsters and 1 special move against either monster or character (the only difference between every character's attacks and debuffs is they are animated differently)
- kill monsters
- repeat for 30 min-1 hour until the """""story""""" progresses

And that's it. Enjoy your $30 """""game""""".
I can 100% guarentee you that 90% of people who bought this game did so only because you can see most characters' panties when they jump. Just go buy a hentai game for gods' sake.

An absolute waste of time. The combat is braindead, the scenes and character interactions rarely rise beyond bland, the exploration and "crafting" systems seem little more than an elaborate way to waste your time, and the whole game reeks of half-♥♥♥♥♥ design.

Pros:
+Original idea
+Fun and kind of deep combat system
+Very funny
+Cool VN sections
+There's A LOT to do
+The remake system (the coliseum, new characters, new dungeons, new weapons, etc.)
+Cool and interesting characters
+The music
+The art style
+The japanese voice acting
+Breaking the fourth wall...multiple times

Cons:
- Dungeon repetition
-Grinding (Personally I love to grind, but people usually don't)
-Not the best story
-The english voice acting
-Almost unplayable with a keyboard and a mouse (you should play with a controller)

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is a really fun low budget JRPG that I recommend to anyone interested, especially on sale.

It's a turn base RPG with girls.

Funny story, I was actually playing the game and it was during one of the dialouge scenes and my brother yelled at how stupid this game is and the whole family looked at my screen and physically cringed.

The first time i saw Hyperdimension Neptunia on Steam i told myself: what the ♥♥♥♥ is this ♥♥♥♥? The only anime i ever watched was pokemon and i usually don't play anime games except the Persona series. Because i like the scenario of this game i decided to give it a try.

And this is the strongest part of this game, the fresh scenario. In a land called gamindustri, 4 goddesses fight against each other in the console war to gain shares (you can say followers) and to rule over gamindustri. These girls are called CPU's. Neptune, the protagonist represents Sega (Planetune), Noire the Playstation (Lastation), Blanc the Nintendo Wii (Lowee) and Vert the X-Box (Leanbox). The entire cast are girls.

This game offers this cool scenario, many jokes, lots of game references, good english voice acting, likeable characters and an amusing storyline. Its the perfect start for everyone to get into the world of Hyperdimension Neptunia.

The game itself is 50% visuel novel and 50% dungeon crawler. It plays like Persona 3 portable without the social links and a lighter, carefree story. The fights are turn-based with an easy combo system. The first bosses can be hard so you need to grind a few levels every now and then.

To date, i played every Neptunia game on steam. Its now one of my favorite game series. Don't be fooled by the colourful look and the cute little girls. This game is a lot of fun and you dont have to be a anime loving little kid to enjoy it.

By now we can all agree that Nep is Love and Nep is Life. However, Nep loves pudding so Pudding is Love and Pudding is Life but the one who made the pudding is Compa so Compa is the one true god.

The best animu game out there. This game offers variety of nep nep puddings and much goddesses prowess.
Dont worry playing this game doesnt make you a weeb, it just makes you a more complete human being.
Interesting story, much boobs .. i mean personalities of the goddesses and a lot of nep nep randomness.
