100% Orange Juice Character Popularity Rankings

After completing an internal analysis of 2016 player stats in 100% Orange Juice, we figured it’d be fun to share some popularity stats for the year as well.

It’s a long post, so prepare to scroll down!

Before writing this post, I also made some polls on Twitter for some of the categories, to see if people can guess which character was most popular. The community answers will be included where relevant.

Starting with the big one:

Most popular starter character – the winner is… Suguri! (Community guessed correctly!)

Least popular starter character – the winner(?) is Kai!

Most popular non-starter character – the winner is Star Breaker! (Community guessed Sora)

Most popular non-starter FRB character – the winner is Sherry (who gets a bottle of wine)! (Community guessed correctly!)

Most popular non-starter male character – the winner is Peat!

Most popular campaign unlock character – the winner is Yuki!

Most popular bonus character – the winner is Mixed Poppo! (community overwhelmingly guessed Sora (Military))

Most popular bunny – the winner is… Aru! Congratulations!

Most popular NPC character – the happy winner is Chicken!

And last, the answer (at least for 2016) to the question, which one is more popular – Saki or Sham? The numbers don’t lie, the winner this time around was… Sham! (Community guessed Saki)

We have a lot of cool stuff planned for 2017 too, so stay tuned!

Version 1.16.6 Out with Multiplayer Improvements, All Characters Event!

With 2 days left in the Christmas Event, version 1.16.6 update hits Steam with a multitude of multiplayer improvements!

All Characters Event is now also active, so you can try out all the characters while collecting the Christmas costumes!

Changes:

  • Improved netpacket validity checking for better multiplayer stability.
  • Removed the short delay before players could roll dice in multiplayer.
  • Improved game behavior in situations where a player leaves on the deck creation screen.
  • You now get a warning message and game closes when trying to load a save data with older game version than what the save was created with.
  • Unspecific Hyper cards that under rare circumstances appear in center deck while using Passionate Research now have a unique icon.

Fixes:
  • Fixed clients not receiving player info from host when a new player joins midgame.
  • Fixed a bug where the next card drawn would be blank if Play of the Gods drew the last card from deck.
  • CPU unit decks for Aru (Scramble), Nath and Tomato & Mimyuu are now selected properly.
  • Fixed not getting the password input box again when trying to join a lobby using a wrong password.
  • Clients in lobbies no longer sometimes toggle themselves NOT READY even when nothing has changed in lobby settings.
  • Fixed a bug where a client joining mid-game could get stuck at chapter change if joining lobby exactly during chapter change.
  • Fixed a bug where a kicked player would not leave the room on their screen until losing connection to other players.
  • Fixed a graphic error with Robo Ball’s Christmas costume.
  • Made the basic red costume for Flying Castle more distinctly colored.

Balance:
  • Removed the following special effect from Tomato: “Lose 1/4 stars when KO'd in battle.”
  • Nath now loses 1 stack of Active Extension when KO’d in battle (as opposed to all stacks).
