About This Game

Simple in concept, but very challenging and rewarding, Circuits is a musical puzzle game that requires careful listening to complete each level.

The goal of Circuits

piece together the different parts of a song. Sounds easy, but maybe not.

As we love music, we wanted to make a game that gives the player an insight into how music is created and makes listening the core part of the experience. Packed with beautifullly designed minimal graphics, to not disturb the focus of the game, and right now 25 different songs for the player to reconstruct.

So if you like music, you will like Circuits .

  • Engaging gameplay that gives an insight into music creation for players
  • A soundtrack mix of electronic ambient, dubstep, and epic orchestra composed by David García ( Deadlight, Rime...)
  • Beautiful minimal design
  • And a Turbo.

Definitely an interesting musical experience fuzed with minimalistic interface. Depending on the player's musical ear will determine the puzzle's difficulty. I would recommend this game for anyone that appreciates musical composition and eloquent ear training puzzles.

Edit: The Circuits Composer mode was a free update and essentially an entirely different branch of this game. For those that like the music from Circuits, now they can take sound bytes (either from the game or just similar sounds from the game's composer) and piece them together with a simple yet limited GUI. This is probalby the equivilance of what Windows Movie Maker is in the video editing world. Although limited, it's pretty easy to create some simple electronic ambient background music.

If musical puzzles or simple electronic music creation is what you want, I'd recommend Circuits a go.

Circuits is all about making, or rather, recreating music. By listening to the various layers the song contains you replicate them by using those same sounds. It's cheap, it's simple, it's relaxing. And it now contains an actual composer. Recommended!

Started off easy but interesting. Slowly got a bit more interesting, then they introduced the loops portion of the gameplay and that's where the game completely broke down from a musical puzzle to a frustrating chore.

For a musician, this game provides no real challenge or gameplay. Simply listen to each sample and figure out where it needs to go, then when you think you've solved it, just hit play and fast-forward through. There's no incentive to actually listen to the entire piece or all samples together. It's much easier and faster to figure out each "layer" (as they call it) and put in the proper samples.

You may notice that I haven't even spent a full hour on the game but that's because I finished around half the levels and then the "loop" mechanic got SO tedious that I just had to stop. It wasn't an engaging or challenging mechanic. It was just endless tedium. And the number of loops that you need to figure out has no meaning musically as there are no measures or BPM or anything. So it's a matter of figuring out how many times each sample loops audibly. And when you've heard these repeating samples over and over again, watching paint dry sounds like a much better afternoon!

So get it if it's on sale and get it if you're not a musician.

This game is not epic,
It is not a legend,
It not a famous game,
It is not a revelation,
It is not inescapable,
It is short,
It is simple,
Well, i like it, it's like a sonor puzzle,
Some of these songs are nice,
So, if you like that kind of game, maybe you can take it ?

Bought the game hoping for a music composer. It didn't come one, but it was still pretty nice.

Then our prayers were answered, music composer.

100000000000/10 would recommend to anyone who loves electronica.

P.S. The UI of the composer could use some improvement.
