I could really care less about the game, I spend all my time in Circuits Composer, and if you like creating awesome music without much pain, then this is where you should be too. I've created a sound package for the composer, and if we get more folks doing that, then the sky's the limit for what you can do with this Composer.

A very simple but well-made game about combining samples into a piece of music. Pleasing to look at and listen to, it's a fun little puzzler for when you have a couple of hours to spare. Well worth its money.

As an audio engineer who knows the nightmare of editing analog tape, this is absolutely boring and waaaaay too easy.

But for everyone else who knows nothing about audio, if you like pretty musical sounds this might be a great experience.

The music in this title is absolutely incredible and to be honest I feel like it could have been used in a much more interactive puzzle or at least in something a bit more complex. But despite the simplicity of the actual game, I would definitely recommend getting this for the tracks alone.

An absolutely brilliant sound track.

This is a great little music puzzler! At first I thought it was way too simple and easy, but things quickly got more complex, and I found myself with my eyes closed, hands cupped around my headphones, concentrating on each little sound I could make out, because I wanted to get things right without using layers or hints.

Definitely pay attention when it says "Headphones recommended". I thought that since I had real studio monitors, that I could get by without putting on my cans, but it really helps having everything else shut out.

A warning. Levels 24 and 25 are seriously difficult, as you have no option to separate layers, and some of the parts are basically inaudible, so you have to pay attention to the harmonics caused by those sounds, or use hints. I finally gave in on 25 and used a hint, and it revealed that I had a part basically backwards, lol.

This little gem is definitely worth the price of admission. I plan on resetting and going back through to work on the last achievement that I am missing... to complete every level without using layers! Wish me luck!

One last note, you probably want to like music if you want to play this game.

You know, I wasn't so sure of what to expect when going into this game. It's a game about taking pods of sound and placing them in the appropriate place. Sounds simple, right? Well, then they added repeats and group repeats, adding that little bit of extra challenge to spice things up. Levels 24 and 25 are something, let me tell you that. The music used sounds pretty good (especially 24 and 25) and is something that most people shouldn't have a problem with. The game looks short with only 25 levels, but I did get a good few hours in, and I'm sure people could get more if they don't have as good of ears as I do. All in all, it's a fun little game with a fun concept and a great soundtrack. Definitely would recommend!

I haven't played it that long, but i have how it basically is. You listen to a cool song and put it together. later more interesting mechanics like loops come into play. I just have one concern and its with the workshop thing where u make the music. for whatever reason, and i have no idea why, it will make where i click about 3 inches to the left of where i want. Have no idea why it happens, it just does. But, the game portion works just fine and i would reccomend it for that reason.

Edit: if the thing that happened to me happens to you, put it on window mode and on 720p

Introduction
Circuits is beautiful game with great asthetics but falls short in terms of actual gameplay. It has a beautiful art style and great sounding music, but unfortunately the finished product is nothing short of underwhelming.

Gameplay
Circuits appears to be another unique puzzle game. You have to put the right pieces onto the music track in order for it to play correctly. The only guidance you have is a "Play mode" that plays the song in the correct order and you have to listen to it to get it right. I say this with a bit of hesitation because although that's what the developers may have intended, the game is just too slow-paced in order to really utilize it. It really gets boring to have to listen to a track over and over to see what area you might have gotten wrong. Most of the time, the player will find themselves randomly placing tracks, fast-forwarding to see if they got it right and then doing that over and over until they find success. This is the reason I can't recommend this game. It expects you to be super-patient as well as having an ear for music, otherwise you have to just randomly try stuff until they work.

Now don't get me wrong, this type of game does appeal to some people, I understand. However I've seen similar games with better implementations in various categories. Some may have very upbeat music with very distinct sections so that the player can actively listen out for them. Some may have different looking icons for each section. Some may have unique ways of directing the flow of music and so on. This one however, has a fixed track, fixed icons and very little track variations. For the average user I cannot recommend this game for the gameplay.

Graphics
One thing I absolutely love about the game is the unique visual style. It was bright, smooth and attractive and really gave me a calming feeling whilst playing.

Audio
The sounds were pretty good, however the frustrating style of gameplay meant that I had to fast-forward which also meant that I couldn't hear the music during that.

Summary
This is not a game for everyone. It will appeal to some, but for others like me who has played games such as Auditorium and a ton of other musically inclined games, this is a weak attempt at entering that market. Pick it up on sale if this appeals to you.

6/10 - Not for the impatient

I'm not exactly a person you would call musically inclined, I hardly ever even have the music effects going when I play my video games but this..was a different viewpoint on music than what I have seen before. It's basic at the start and slowly builds up to more advanced puzzles (and greater soundtracks) once you have progressed. Now aside from the game itself, which I admittedly didn't play that much, was the creation kit they supplied us with. I spent hours offline just messing around with the sounds and creating my own song just for the hell of it. Look i'm not the best reviewer but I'll say this, give it a go and you might find out you are more into music than you thought.

Fun little music puzzle game, but the value for me lies in the composer mode. It's fun to play around and throw together some samples when I don't feel like loading up Ableton and actually composing. That aspect alone would make it worth the price to someone who is looking to get into electronic music production, but finds the software massively overwhelming. This is like a gentle nudge in the right direction. Well worth the $1.74 I paid for it on sale.

Started off easy but interesting. Slowly got a bit more interesting, then they introduced the loops portion of the gameplay and that's where the game completely broke down from a musical puzzle to a frustrating chore.

For a musician, this game provides no real challenge or gameplay. Simply listen to each sample and figure out where it needs to go, then when you think you've solved it, just hit play and fast-forward through. There's no incentive to actually listen to the entire piece or all samples together. It's much easier and faster to figure out each "layer" (as they call it) and put in the proper samples.

You may notice that I haven't even spent a full hour on the game but that's because I finished around half the levels and then the "loop" mechanic got SO tedious that I just had to stop. It wasn't an engaging or challenging mechanic. It was just endless tedium. And the number of loops that you need to figure out has no meaning musically as there are no measures or BPM or anything. So it's a matter of figuring out how many times each sample loops audibly. And when you've heard these repeating samples over and over again, watching paint dry sounds like a much better afternoon!

So get it if it's on sale and get it if you're not a musician.

Oh this small indie puzzle is awesome.

If you like puzzles and enjoy some music you should try this game. Although I usually only listen to metal music (mostly Heavy and Power Metal) I really enjoyed it.

Your task is to recreate the music track. You are given a set of individual parts. You can listen to the original track and you can listen to up to three music layers individually. Sometimes the differences are so tiny that you may have to guess the correct solution.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=568653398

The game comes with the soundtrack located in your installation directory.

It comes with a level designer, I still need to test that one.

For a couple of hours, you’ll get a fun little audio/rhythm puzzle game that can be rather tricky to solve.

You’ll need a good pair of headphones to get the full enjoyment out of this title.
The soundtrack’s moody electronic and orchestral-like sounds are rather enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a casual rhythm game, Circuits fills that niche quite nicely.

" Sounds easy, but maybe not. "

Interesting idea, visually well done, nice songs.
However, even when it gets complex and more and more elements get introduced to the game, it remains a matter of diligence to solve the songs and I got bored. Also I didn't have any sort of aha experience that I was hoping for.

Circuits is an interesting concept of a game, and one that is well executed as well.

It is essentially a puzzle game where you have to match musical elements [a guitar chord, a drum beat] to where they appear in a song as a whole.

This might sound simple, but it can be quite challenging to do so correctly. You also have to handle is the elements loop, and very often some elements are drowned out by others even though they still add to the song as a whole. Headphones are very recommended for this. There are 25 levels of increasing difficulty, so plenty to do, along with a separate "composer" application.

The game uses a very simple drag and drop interface. I unfortunately can't say for sure if it works with a touch screen, but from what I can say I suspect it will. The music elements and the song in each level are all of a high quality, so it does afeel as if you are interacting with music and not just some pizzle pieces.

Good game for those with a musical ear, or just those who want to improve their own.

Pretty much my new favorite puzzle game, of all time. It starts off fairly simple, and slowly increases in difficulty. They introduce new concepts to the puzzles very well, giving you time to adjust. My favorite part is the musical portion, it's unique (at least to me) in a puzzle game to have it all reliant on sound. Nothing is more satisfying than correctly matching up the sound bits to the song, piece by piece, and playing it as a whole and hearing it match solidly to the original. The composer is fun, even with next to no knowledge on how to make music you can throw in a few random things on the track list and it'll probably sound close to decent, I haven't experimented with it too much but I look forward to it. The game itself is fairly priced, if you enjoy music based games or puzzle games, you'll feel it was well worth it, if not for the game itself but just to mess around in the composer (especially if you caught it on a sale, like I did.)

With the newest update that allow you to upload sound packs to the workshop, and use other people's sound packs everything just got better. The developer is great and will awnser any questions quickly and decivicely. One of the best indie games I have Ever played

I bought this game because I love music and thought I would try it out, after all it was cheap at the time when I got it and still is. Now it has its own composer. The composer comes with a wide range of sounds to begin making music with and its easy to learn! You can make a ton of different types of music from piano to deep beats.. Just for this it is well worth it to me!

As for the game itself which is the main part obviously, even this is very nice. It is put together very nicely and the instructions as you go along make it easy to understand for anyone. If you like music and you like puzzles then this is definitely a game for you. I highly recommend this game, but also highly recommend having headphones. Most of the beats on this program needs more than just speakers to really hear the game. However it says on the game itself that this was created for headphones so unless you don't read it you should already know.

Overall this game is well worth more than the price you have to pay. I have bought it for several friends and so far everyone loves it! For a simple game, if you pass this up (assuming you love music) then you might be missing out..

2/5 nice and quite innovative idea.

This little indie puzzle game can entertain for about 3hrs, I feel like the puzzles could be harder, only the last 2 levels are really challenging, but I had fun for the whole experience. There's also a music composer, which is interesting but it's quite buggy at the moment. 5€ maybe is a bit high for its playtime, you should get it on sale.

It's perfect to test new headphones :)

It's a game about hearing, understanding music and differentiating every small part of a music from each other.Unique concept and amazing quality of voices makes this game original and a must-own. I tried every single of my headphones to see their quality in different voice tones, this game worked like a charm to make me understand differences between my headphones ^^

And now with the workshop, it's gonna be played forever thanks to contributors ^^

It isn't really a puzzle, you just have to listen and remember. You can go as fast or as slow as you like, so there's no real challenge. Some of the achievements are bugged. Most importantly, i have figured out a way to bug the game so badly that you can win before you've even played half the song.

It's not particularly innovative, and not particularly fun. The music is average. I wouldn't recommend it. I would consider a refund if it didn't cost me $1.79.

I guess I just don't get it. Somebody made a boring puzzle game out of the most mundane aspect of music production. Playing it just makes me feel like I am working at a terrible audio engineering job where I analyze the work done by other people, then try to copy their results. At least guitar hero makes you feel like you can actually play the guitar. I get no such satisfaction from this game.
