About This Content

Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants is an expansion pack that adds new characters, seasons, creatures, biomes, and other challenges to Don’t Starve.

The entire world of Don’t Starve has been expanded and is now even more uncompromising! New mysteries, challenges and scientific innovations await your discovery. Manage your resources well, because the wilderness of Don’t Starve has learned some new tricks.

Key Features:

  • New playable characters: Reign of Giants adds two characters for players to discover and survive with. Play as Wigfrid, a stage actress who went a bit too far with method acting on her latest role, an ancient Valkyrie, or Webber, a young boy who lives inside the spider who tried to eat him long ago.
  • Year-round starvation: Struggle through a full year of seasons as you experience the torrential rain falls of spring and the blistering heat of summer.
  • A bigger, badder world: New biomes have been filled to the brim with new creatures and gatherables that will either help you survive - or kill you.

DO NOT BUY DON'T STARVE WITHOUT THIS. This is an expansion so good, it makes the base game seem incomplete without it, and the base game was good to begin with.

This DLC brought fresh air from the regular Don't Starve. It has everything you would want if Don't starve was a little spiced up. From the new seasons to the formidable Giants, RoG is amazing. The new items, new creatures, along with new biomes will make you not regret buying this DLC. There are much more in the game that i have stated here, so go play and have fun!

This DLC is perfect. It adds the perfect amount of difficulty and lots of fun. I always play Don't Starve with this DLC checked on, because there's lots of unique things about it. The characters that come with the DLC are great too, and the enemies and of course, the craftable items. The only problem is that some mods don't work with it.

Brother: Who's your favorite character?
Me: WX-78
Dad: *is convinced I have a 'thing' for robots*
Brother: Webber's the best
Other brother: No, Wilson's the best
Me: You guys all know that WX is totally boss, right?
Brothers: *laugh at me*
Brothers: *Both die sometime in the low hundreds, playing as Webber and Wilson*
Me: *playing as WX, standing on top of a pile of gold and beefalo wool, a the Ancient Guardian horn, and a world flooded with rock lobsters* *is on day 332 and counting*

11/10 would prove that WX is most boss character again

GLOMMER (Absolutely adorable!)
Our little cinnamon bun Webber (come on, a seven-year old half-human half-spider. What's not to love?)
Giants hurt
Wetness hurts
FULL MOONS (I can see the light!)
Hey, that's a new tree... *gets killed by little nut demons*

this DLC is pretty dank. my best day score was 34 days and ended the way i didnt want it to end, by a deerclops. i was just putting wood on the fire when all of a sudden i hear a weird grunt coming from the distance. what got me worried is that i have not heard this sound before and that it was DEFINETLY NOT the sound the hounds whould make so i was like NOOOOO NOT NOW. i then hear loud stomps coming from the right of the screen and a deerclops is smashing the stone walls and weather and tempurature stuff with a swift slash of its arms. ice goes every where. so i throw my bomerange at him so that he would lock on to me. so i pull out my torch(because it was night) and get ready to run. my torch runs out and because im willow i quickly take out my lighter of infinity and keep walking away with him and chester right behind me.
i lead him to some spiders to take care of him. i lose track of him and so i go back up to my base like"FINALY HIS GONE" but boy was i wrong. i see him smashing through EVERY THING (by this time chester is dead) so i tank it by putting on my log suit (yes a log suit) and i end up dying and responing at a touch stone i completly forgot i walk back up to my now destroyed base. i start to panic even more because on the way up i heard the growls and grunts of a soon hound attack. so i grab what i can from my dead body and start running in a circle to get my football helment with 3 normal hounds and a blue/ice hound bihind me. i end up dying there like GG game. over all 11/10 would die again

Day 11
I attempted to track a Koalefant to aquire it's meat. A different beast entirely met me at the end of the trail, one with fangs rather than tusks but just as big as my intended quarry. The Varg.

It howled, summoning hounds to it's side in an attempt to overwhelm me with numbers. It worked, forcing me to flee rather than be eaten alive. A nearby swamp containing tentacles and fish people made for the perfect terrain to lose the pursuing animals, allowing me to escape while I could still fight lesser beasts without succumbing to my wounds. I continued through the swamp, away from my camp grounds and towards new land.

Day 12
I have found salvation. After replacing my log armor and spear I ventured toward some strange area that reminded me of elaborate and lavish chess boards. The playing pieces here move under their own malicious will, attacking me as I draw near. Where they had programmed behavior I had drive and purpose; gears littered the ground rather than my own blood. The marble trees gave me an idea, prompting me to harvest them. In the middle of this area was a small garden of strange flowers. Looking at them put me on edge, making me almost look away before I noticed an odd detail; they were planted in the shape of a large W... or maybe an M? I left a nearly broken helmet nearby, hoping that whoever investigates this strange garden later will be inclined to investigate further; hopefully being more pleasant than either the plants or their gaurds when he or she arrives.

Day 13 - Morning
I've returned to my camp after sneaking around the Varg while it and it's pack slept in the night. This marble I bring back is heavy in my backpack but it will serve me well after I take a few choice pieces and strap them onto myself like armor. Along with a new helmet I am a slow but sturdy fighting machine. Hopefully I can either drive off the Varg or, failing that, end the beast.

Day 13 - Afternoon
I plunged the blade of my spear into the beasts eye, penetraing the brain and finally downing the violent creature. It's pack had grown in the night but they too fell to the blows I delivered. I almost traded places with them, barely clinging to life as I gave one final thrust and instead claimed their corpses rather then giving them my own. Their meat is tainted; I leave it to rot. The teeth I claim, maybe for some new contraption to help fight off creatures similar to this one. Something tells me that this will not be the worst of what that tall man has in store for me.

The birchnuts have gone red and yellow. A chill is moving in. I feel like I've merely won a single battle in what will surely be a long war against nature itself. I refuse to be beaten. I will not be made to die in this mad place.

I will not starve.

Day 14
Accidentally ate Monster Meat and died. 10/10

Essentially, a twisted representation of life. No one knows whats happening, everything is out to kill you, and you keep lying to yourself, saying that everything will be okay.

Pretty great dlc.

Built a super massive base that was fit to survive all 4 seasons with ease, awesome armour, tons of food. I was living the high life! Then this giant fly came to inspect my work, I went to greet him and welcome him to my home. He became jealous and decided to burn it all to the ground! Fire breathing flies, who knew?

10/10 would die again.

Don't Starve: Reign of Giants:

-If you are getting bored of vanilla mode, buy RoG. much more challenging and alot more to do! :D
- 4 seasons, and not 2 :D
- Harder enemies, Food spoils everywhere now, even in crook pots.
- More Stuff to explore, like biomes, items, enemies etc.
- Adventure mode with RoG! (Goodluck with that <3)

Autumn : Grab them resources!
Winter : Cold, and hopefully u find deerclops.
Spring : Sanity drain season, because of the rain.... (**** you rain!)
Summer : Prepare good for the Summer, and you should be fine with the overheating :D

Every Season : Hope you find a Giant in any of the seasons, not close to your base :P

Alot of more items to find, biomes to explore, and monsters to kill.

If you are a fan of Don't Starve, you need this DLC in your Library! :)
(and get DS together with it too!)

Nice DLC!!

I wish I could have gotten this review out earlier, but it seems steam had issues with letting me review this DLC some time ago. So here goes nothing:

The DLC for Don't Starve called Reign of Giants is like having a well rounded directors cut of the game. During the cave development which got some mixed review and was never technically finished (lava caves was cut in the end). Many who complained were those who desperately wanted more to the overworld itself. Reign of Giant was exactly that.

The extra seasons (summer &spring). A giant for every season and even a refurbished Deerclops. A few new biomes and all of the vanilla biomes fleshed out even more. Two new characters that are introduce with some interesting gameplay mechanics. Klei entertainment has done something with DLC that I think most companies miss out on these day's. It does not simply make the game look different, but instead enhances it's core mechanics to make a truly unique experience out it. Plus it's worth every penny.
