Built a super massive base that was fit to survive all 4 seasons with ease, awesome armour, tons of food. I was living the high life! Then this giant fly came to inspect my work, I went to greet him and welcome him to my home. He became jealous and decided to burn it all to the ground! Fire breathing flies, who knew?

10/10 would die again.

Don't Starve: Reign of Giants:
10/10

-If you are getting bored of vanilla mode, buy RoG. much more challenging and alot more to do! :D
- 4 seasons, and not 2 :D
- Harder enemies, Food spoils everywhere now, even in crook pots.
- More Stuff to explore, like biomes, items, enemies etc.
- Adventure mode with RoG! (Goodluck with that <3)

Autumn : Grab them resources!
Winter : Cold, and hopefully u find deerclops.
Spring : Sanity drain season, because of the rain.... (**** you rain!)
Summer : Prepare good for the Summer, and you should be fine with the overheating :D

Every Season : Hope you find a Giant in any of the seasons, not close to your base :P

Alot of more items to find, biomes to explore, and monsters to kill.

If you are a fan of Don't Starve, you need this DLC in your Library! :)
(and get DS together with it too!)

Nice DLC!!

Difficult and chalenging survival game. I keep finding myself coming back to play it again. Nice title to have in your library. Kid friendly in nature, chalenging enough to frustrate most adults.

-Quick Review-
"Say pal, you don't look so good. You'd better find a rock to hide under, because this time we're sending Giants after you!"
So you've been playing Don't Starve, and you've mastered (or not) all of the seasons, challenges, and experienced the whole world, and delved into the depths underground.... (or not).

Don't Starve Reign of Giants will take everything you know about surviving and throw a monkey-wrench in it, with new seasons, new biomes, Wetness, Overheating, Giants who come to attack your bases, and some tweaks to the original mechanics that you've grown so used to.

-Detailed breakdown review-
Story: Much like the previous game, the whole goal is to survive, with the new difficulty of mastering new seasons the player definitely has his or her work cut out for him/her.

Game Play: There's a lot that can be said here, but to focus on what I've already said, there are new biomes, seasons, giants, and NPC's. Playing this DLC will be one part exploration of a new world, twenty part tears and gnashing of teeth; My first game I made it to winter, but then a Deerclops ran over my base (I didn't know it was coming and was ill prepared) My second game I made it to summer, and my base burnt down. The whole point of mentioning that is that it highlights just a fraction of the new challenges that you experience in the Reign of Giants DLC; New seasons, and Giants.

Achievements: No steam achievements, but just making it _______ amount of days is an achievement. In a way the whole Don't Starve Game Series takes a jump back to the days where when you died, there were actual consequences... that being you had to take out more quarters and put them in the machine to keep playing.

Conclusion: In my own experience, after playing and learning don't starve the hard way (death!), I simply can't dislike the game. I can get discouraged and play something else for awhile, however this game is very special to me and I have yet to dislike anything about it.

I simply adore this game! And now with the addition of the Reign of Giants-- it adds a whole new twist on this wonderfully crafted game. I highly recommend this if you're both a casual gamer and/or a hardcore veteran. This entire scenario forces you to think about the little things with survival, and not to mention that almost everything larger than you is trying to rip your head off. I'll be honest, it's a tough game at first but once you learn more about how the world works, everything falls into place-- but don't get too comfortable.

10/10 Would starve again.

Today, there are many games with horrible DLC, with more accesories and whatnot, but Don't Starve: Reign of Giants is something I would recommend to anyone with Don't Starve and money to spend. This DLC has a lot more content, new monsters, bosses and seasons, allowing for an even MORE dangerous experience. There are even new characters, which are fun to play. Don't Starve is harder than it used to be and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Don't Starve, but wants a bigger challenge. Be prepared to die. Wait, be prepared to die MANY times.

DLC verdict: Get it on sale OR Get it in the bundle with the base game

Comment: For those masochist that think the base game is too easy. For those who want even more content in the game. For those who like this game and devs. If you are in one of the listed 3 groups you should get this DLC.

Essentially, a twisted representation of life. No one knows whats happening, everything is out to kill you, and you keep lying to yourself, saying that everything will be okay.

Pretty great dlc.

The new characters made this game more and more interesting. The giants were well made and perfect. The new materials were the best part about this DLC. The new animals and biomes were great. Buy this if you want a more challenging game.

Are you bored with vanilla Don't Starve?
Is the base game just not enough of a challenge for you?
Do you have the urge to watch helplessly as hours of your hard work either burns down, gets stomped on, rots or is generally abused by a whole host of unfriendly (new) creatures?

If any of the above apply to you then download Reign of Giants today and get ready to tear your hair out all over again.

10/10 would starve again.

First started with Vanilla to get use to the game. Died alot usually made to ~ Day 12 . . .
Went Balls Deep on ROG and currently on Day 35 and almost finished winter. Phew :)
A punishing but fun game when you start starving longer.
Definately reccommend this game, can easily lose 4 hours of your life starving in-game and maybe in real life if you forget to eat xD

Reign of Giants is great in particular for seasoned Don't Starve players who would like a little more challenge and variety in their uncompromising wilderness experience. This expansion brings harsh new seasons, biomes, and monsters which make it much more difficult to reach the "plateau of stability". It might be a bit harsh for new players, but highly recommended otherwise.

Day One: Collected some seeds and rocks.
Day Two: Got some gold and made a science machine.
Day Three: Planted four trees.
Day Four: Tried to chop down a tree. Then one of the trees turned into Groot and killed me.
Conclusion: Killed by Groot
