Summary of the gameplay in NBA 2K15: Opening Tip - Win every time because the AI is incapable of timing its jump.
First possession - Try to pass to open 3 point shooter, 3 point shooter AI ignores common-sense, runs into middle of the key where there are 3 other players. Pass gets aimed into cluster of players. Turnover.

Opposition Possession - You play good defense, you don't allow any easy scores. The AI holds the ball until the shot clock runs down to 4 seconds, then isolates their best player. Despite having a hand in the AI's face and a terrible shot selection, the AI will somehow make a 3 pointer as the shot clock expires.

2nd Possession - You move the ball around, avoiding the cheese as much as possible. Open 3 point shot to tie the game of a good screen, Steph Curry shooting. Despite the open shot for an excellent shooter, your shot will clank off the back rim and fall directly into the hands of your center. You fake a shot, try to get the defender up, and your center, I.E. LaMarcus Aldridge, an all-star and one of the best players at his position, will miss a wide-open layup.

Opposition Possession - You'll play excellent on-ball defense, but your AI defender will stand in one position and allow their player to get an open layup/dunk. If your center rotates, it will be completely pointless, because every time your center contests a shot, there's either a foul or a ridiculous contested layup make.

3rd Possession - By this point you're fustrated that you're down 4-0 despite doing nothing wrong. You pass to your power forward who has a ridiculous bumped up post-fadeaway rating, and exploit the overpowered post-offense system in the game. Congrats, you just cheesed your way to your first bucket.

Opposition Possession - Opposition finally misses a shot! It's too bad your center doesn't know how to box out; offensive rebound for them, 6-2.

Now rinse and repeat for 150 hours, pay $50 for VC so you can buy some over-priced and usually useless packs for your MyTeam. If you're lucky, you'll get David Lee or maybe, just maybe, Anthony Davis, who despite being a current top 3 NBA player, is incapable of making an open layup in this game.

If you want to play MyCareer effectively, you better hope your pockets are deep! MyGM is a brilliant game mode and is actually realistic; too bad you can buy your way to winning regardless. EDIT - Also in MyGM, terrible players will demand trades because they're coming off the bench. I had SHANE LARKIN demand I trade him because I wasn't starting him over 91 overall Dante Exum. WHEN WOULD THAT EVER HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE? Joel Embiid demanded a trade because he "wasn't happy with his usage rate" even though I was giving him 33 minutes a game and he was averaging 27ppg. Every starter was unhappy with their usage rate, every bench player is unhappy with their minutes and "organisational role". Extremely unrealistic in that regard.

AND MYCAREER. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you don't start yourself off with $20 of VC, you are in for a hell of a grind my friend. I'm talking 3 minutes a game, 100 VC a match struggle here, and upgrades aren't cheap either; usually around 2000 VC for a single upgrade. They took away a lot of the customization this year and restricted player overalls extremely, allowing only 1 upgrade per 7 games played once you hit the upgrade cap. Which is somewhat good for MyPark; but it's not like that even matters anyway because everyone on mypark just uses 7 foot power forwards with maxed out athleticism, so they have massive height advantage and the same speed as a 6'1 point guard (seriously, what the hell 2K?). Your teammates won't take open shots. I once got benched for no reason while averaging 37ppg, 12asp and 7rpg (Because I brought my way there, like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥). For some reason your assistant coach follows you to any team you go to, as well. In my 7th season, I still get called "Rookie" and every contract season is the exact same. It's literally like they expect you to rage quit after 10 games.

But all above all, the gameplay is worth playing, and is why you put up with this dog poop. It's actually a fun game under all the glaringly obvious flaws and easily the most realistic basketball simulator I've ever played. Lot's of fun playing with friends (but I guarantee all your friends are on console, correct?).

Don't expect anything to get fixed either. 2K won't listen to a damn thing you say, because they know there isn't any realistic competition on the basketball game market. Despite this, customers actually consider buying NBA Live because this ♥♥♥♥ is so bad. Yes, 2K, you treat your customers so poorly that they would consider buying a game made by EA over your overpriced garbage. Hell, if NBA Live was on PC, I'd take it into consideration if they made a half decent game. The producers are decent enough people. People like Ronnie 2K, LD2K, all interact with the community, release fairly generous locker codes, listen to what they have to say; thus why it fustrates me so much that they don't fix the frustrating bugs and cheesy animations. I'm certainly not one to ♥♥♥♥♥ about a game like this, but when I pay $89 USD for a game (Roughly $110 Australian), I expect better.

9/10, I'm probably going to buy 2K16 and go through the exact same ♥♥♥♥ again.

Fantastic game with some wonderful improvements to gameplay, animations, graphics, slick presentation and modes (my team and my career). Love basketball? Looking for a realistic simulation and one of the best sports games of the last 10 years? This is the game for you!

The only issues I have had with the game was the servers had issues the first two games and you couldn't play online and also sometimes there is lag for the online MY PARK street ball games where there is 10 courts in one area. Other than that it runs well, not had any crashes yet and there are not many bugs.

If you want to dunk every play this is not the game for you, this requires you to use that brain you have in your head! Be smart when you pass the ball, don't try to steal everytimeon defense, play good solid smart team basketball and use you're bench wisely! This is as close as you will get to real basketball in a videogame. it is sligthly slower paced gameplay from previous years but it fits the series perfect. The controls are also very well done, I have been playing with a xbox one controller most the time so far.

With over 170 hours on this game already, it is without a doubt one of my top 10 games of 2014 and without a doubt the years best sports game. MY TEAM and MY CAREER are both improved alot and are very addicting, this game in general has a TON of content. 2K has been great for years but this is the best game they have done and it just destroys the new NBA LIVE. If you want a good sports game with a ton of content hit it up! PC finally has the next gen version and it does nto dissapoint!

As long as you know this game is a sim and NOT NBA LIVE or NBA JAM, there is a great chance you will enjoy this game. It has quickly become my 7th most played game ever on steam, not long after it came out, as you can tell I am enjoying it! The hardest part will be deciding what mode you like the most! There is a ton of content in this game, MY TEAM, MY CAREER, MYPARK, quick games and of course you can do seasons with a fantasy draft, aswell as online leagues!

A real fan of NBA,the pure love of basketball:)))
Start my nba2k carrer at NBA2k9 ,the cover of Garnett:)
I gonna recommand this awesome work if u r a fan of NBA.its the best. it was totally diffcult for PC players to have Next-Gen experience of nba 2k series before the 2k15.
Have played almost 220+ hours ,have tried all game modes, nice work,MG,MC.MT,MP:)))Its the most true-to-life NBA experience, the roster updates with the real NBA .And could watch the 2KTV to know more about this game and others' players' videos.U could get VC in any game modes use VC to upgrade ur player in MC or MP or to buy clothes or other gears even the movement of some famous star player. And u can download the mobile app named My NBA 2K15 u could get VC every day and could play several simple modes on ur mp.
And the soundtrack powered by Pharrell Williams.its really nice :)))))
Pre-purchase in Sep.Two times uddates up to now .But still some bugs exsist .The most one is the Jersey of the classic team. Hope its will be fixed.
The network is bad. I dunno if that status cuz of my network in here china.Sometime cant connect to 2k ,and some time diconnect when u play multiplay modes even the race almost ended....
Hold the firmly belief that 2K will featured the next work with Next-Gen experience :))))))Thx 2K.

I really wanted to give this game a positive review because it did make some significant improvements in the series. For example MyCarrer has created a fairly expansive and engaging story around your player and MyTeam has lessened the punishingly high VC costs that destroyed the mode in previous itterations.

I won't say that the game is total garbage and is still fun to play but there are some key issues that had a profoundly negative effect on my experience. As the price drops or issues get resolved the game will become a better buy. For now there are some things you should be aware of beforehand:

1. Some features have been cut from previous installments
Unfortinately there are a tremendous number of features that have been gutted from the game. The most notable cut for me is Create-A-Team; no longer can you have a face off of a team made of US presidents against famous magicians or other equally silly and entertaining mash ups without displacing existing teams. Furthermore improved features like Create-A-Player as the only way to really use them is on MyCarrer or filling a draft class if your patient. It feels like the series is moving sideways.

2. Very Buggy
The port is either buggy or incomplete. In addition to server issues that may lock you out from even playing single player modes, there are some wild frame rate inconsistencies and does requires additional manual configuration for some graphics cards. At the time of writing certain clothes and items can be boutght and equipped but don't show up on my player; because they take up VC (purchacable with real money as well as earnable in game) you could be spending money on something that doesn't work. If you fish around the Steam forums for even a short period of time it'll become apparent that bugs are one of the most profound issues in the game.

3. Audio issues
The audio sliders are total garbage. If you turn down all the audio levels on the main menu to zero, they'll still be on the default levels in game. Each game mode requires you to reset them in each space. On top of that if you set all audio sliders to zero sound will still come through, this seems to be because some audio is not mapped to any slider.

4. VC sucks the life out of the game
If you've been playing the NBA 2k series for a while you've probably already felt the negative effects this game has on the series. The problem is less that buying cosmetic and glamor items at high prices in the hopes that you'll spend actuall money (which is anoying on its own), but the amount of checks the game has to go through to do anything:
Did you buy a sock? ... Wait 10 seconds while we contact 2k's servers
Did you want to play MyCareer? ... Wait 10 seconds while we contact 2k's servers
Did you make a shoe? ... Wait 10 seconds while we contact 2k's servers
Did you win a game? ... Wait 10 seconds while we contact 2k's servers
This is because the game has to keep track of how much VC to ensure that you don't cheat. This obfiscates how much fun it could be to play by giving you a constant reminder that the game has a huge beuracratic system designed to have you spend extra after you already spent $20-$60 on the base game.

So, after my last years review on NBA2K14, I'm going on with 2K15 this year. As it features next-gen, the content is huge - a great variety of gamemodes, amazing graphics and a really good gameplay. MyPlayer is huge this year! The only thing that lets the fun factor down, is that there too less people actually playing 2K so it can be though to find an opponent at times. On prime time (17:00-23:00) you're still basically safe to find people to ball with!

If you have the system to run NBA 2k15, you're going to love this game. Avid NBA 2k fans will appreciate and already be familiar with the flow of the gameplay, animations, presentation, and alot of small touches added to this years version of the game. I'm convinced everyone will really be blown away by the graphics, as it's easily the best basketball game graphically the gaming world has ever seen. Finally, a next gen sports game that rivals (and totally exceeds in sweetness) its console counterparts. Well worth the money. I see myself playing many more hours,

For many long-time NBA 2K fans, MyPlayer/MyCareer is THE mode. And unfortunately 2K has made this mode a lot less enjoyable this year. There are issues both on and off the court. The introduction of shot fatigue doesn't make sense. If the aim is to address balance issues, I am afraid it is simply not the way to do it. Instead of making the game more realistic, it too often will make the game completely ridiculous. After taking 30 or so shots, you will mysteriously freeze no matter how hard you have worked to get all the open looks you need. It effectively puts a crude and arbitrary hard cap on your scoring prowess. The issue is then compounded by the frustrating teammate AI and shooting percentage in HOF difficulty: so if you don't score enough before the final quarter, your team will most likely fall into an unsurmountable deficit; but if you did take enough shots to keep your team in the game, in the 4th you will be made absolutely useless in terms of scoring, and then good luck relying on your teammates! Basically, you will no longer be able to recreate naratives such as 4th quarter heroics, and epic single-game scoring rampage. Speaking of naratives, the story of your player is so scripted that it will leave you few meaningful options and definitely little room for imagination. All in all, it makes one of the least satisfying experiences out of the game's recent iterations.

Great game, the n°1 sports simulation those days.

Awesome graphics
Good comments, many player voices
Good soundtrack
Nice menus
Nice gameplay
Many ways of playing basket-ball

Still some sh... bugs
Somewhat unbalanced career mode
Rather poor franchise management mode (many texts instead of voices)
Randomly poor server access

In any case, don't hesitate to buy it if you're looking for an excellent sports sim.

This game, as well as the rest of the series (played 2K12-15), never fails to bring me to a vast amount of cursing.
I guess in that way they're consistent, consistently proving to me that no matter how much I love basketball, basketball hates me (reason to why I still buy this ♥♥♥♥ even if it enrages me).
I guess I can't hate it 'as a whole' since I've only been playing MyPlayer (same goes to earlier titles), yet here's some of the reasons I make myself heard in the entire building (apartment complex):

- ♥♥♥♥ing animation sticking, to ♥♥♥♥ing hell to your ♥♥♥♥ing animations 2k, jesus christ. Making a play which requires you to bypass some players means 'shove for 2 seconds', 'get stopped for 3 seconds', etc. By the time I get to position, an entire day passes. AND to make it worse, opposing players just slide right by like I'm ♥♥♥♥ing non-existent, great... GREAT!

- No sense of urgency. Building on the point earlier, everyone on MY team just loves to take their time doing something stupid. OH! Someone's going for the drive? I'll just look at him even if I'm at a good position to stop him. Someone's a renowned 3pt shooter and I'm guarding him? Better sag off to be safe and raise my hand up half a meter away from him. He doing crossovers on me? Better look like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crab that does not even work. ♥♥♥♥ing... ♥♥♥♥ing... ♥♥♥♥, 2k.

- Everyone ELSE is in godmode. By that I mean every single team we face, while we look like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in an NBA team uniform. Open shots are STILL questionable yet even the opposing worst player shames us. OUR ♥♥♥♥ING BIGS AREN'T BOXING OUT! What the ♥♥♥♥?! Meanwhile on the other side, we can't even get near the paint to rebound. Good job, 2k.

- My player can go ♥♥♥♥ himself, I'm so thankful I didn't name him after me. FREE LAY-UP?! Nah man, can't get it in. SUCCESSFULLY THREW AWAY DEFENDER WITH FAKE?! Still miss horribly. SHOT METER GREAT MIDRANGE?! C at best. OH ♥♥♥♥! I'M DEFENDING THE BACKUP OF THE BACKUP GUARD?! Can't even follow him. Amazing, 2k.

- Building again on earlier point, my player still has the guts to have this confident and cocky attitude! GREAT! COZ THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE, RIGHT? OH I CAN'T EVEN GET A FREE LAY-UP? HIRE ME NBA! Fan-♥♥♥♥ing-tastic, 2k.

- Losing a man means he will get the shot NO MATTER WHAT, even if he'll end up getting into another defender's range. On the other hand, you losing your man means you STILL have to worry about those other guys inside. REAL LIFE SIMULATION RIGHT HERE. Brilliant, 2k.

... So far, that's it. I can't believe it really. Basketball's been something I enjoyed... well... watching. Playing it irl has been decently fun and then I come HERE... I lose faith in humanity... Thank you... you sons of ♥♥♥♥♥es there in 2k... thank you.

NBA 2K15 does not deserves the Mixed (67% positive) review score it's been given. In fact, I believe 2K15 is a huge upgrade from last year's game. Most of the negative ratings given to 2K have been either because players were having opening day server issues, or are running into graphical/gameplay problems. I have experienced neither of these, so here's my review of the game and the game itself

MyCareer - very enjoyable game mode. The story is cheesy in some bits but it's still an enjoyable game mode. MyPark is great to play with friends, but sometimes is lacking on PC due to a reduced community size. Still, fun with others.

MyGM / MyLeague - two WIP game modes that 2K hasn't completely mastered yet but are well on their way. The customizibility in MyLeague makes it a great game mode and it, along with myGM, has lots of potential.

MyTeam - one of my favourite game modes. Challenges, Road to the Playoffs, and Domination give plenty of game modes to play. The auction house is a great addition to 2K15 as well.

Gameplay: 7.5/10 - 2K still needs to fix up the AI of your teammates in MyCareer and non-controlled players in other modes. Online started off sketchy due to server issues but plays well for me now.
Graphics: 9/10 - With a HD 5450 I can run at 60 FPS, 1920 x 1080 and Low / Medium. Don't be fooled by the Low, because the game still looks pretty good compared to last year's game.
Audio: 6.5/10 - Commentary is great, especially with the addition of sideline interviews and the pre-game show. The soundtrack for 2K has been sub-par for a while now but music varies based on tastes. Best you could do is just mute the in-game music and play your own tunes. Problem solved.
Controls: (Keyboard/Mouse: N/A, Controller: 9/10) - playing 2K with a keyboard and mouse is a guarenteed nightmare. I haven't tried it, and don't plan to. However, controller gameplay is easy to pick-up and learn. The shooting mechanism this year is quite well developed too.

OVERALL: 8.5/10 - 2K has definitely created an enjoyable basketball simulation experience for basketball fan. Definitely consider picking it up if it goes on sale (heck, for full price it's still great too). Highly recommend.

Sadly, the multiplayer experience is weak, but there are some communities in myPark, myTeam, etc. that you should join to maximize your experience. Otherwise everything else is perfect, best 2k to date! :) (My fave current gen game was prob 2k12)

Short Review: This game is really good but it has a few issues!.. I do recommend this.

Anyways, this is an amazing simulator!
First thing I love is the graphics, they're just awesome! Apparently they're not as good as 2K14 but this is my first NBA 2K game so I cannot comment on previous titles.

At the start of this game the create a player or whatever it's called. The options are pretty detailed The faces look extremely human-like except from the weirdly shaped, ugly ears.

No height adjusters, limited hair options and nothing like tattoos but this isn't The Sims, I understand.

- Once I got into the game, I wanted to learn how to play the game obviously, It took me about 5 minutes to find the tutorials. I found everything fluent except the defending, it was a little awkward at first but after practising it works amazingly.

-When in-game, It's a little frustraiting to begin with but with a little slider tweaking and camera adjustments, I found this extremely enjoyable.
The Controller layout is hard at first but it feels fluent eventually, I didn't bother with a mouse and keyboard/keypad as I am aware this is a console game and it's probably tweaked for them.

The only bad things about this are the constant videos, the 43.6GB game size is massive, I'm pretty certain 10GB must be videos. And whilst the other team has the ball, It can be a little confusing to know what player you are.
- The loading screens are pretty long but they have hidden them with a pre-game news report which kind of hides them, I do like this feature!

I'll be back to playing now but I haven't seen any bugs just about yet, I will most likely update this if I find any!

-- I recommend this if you like basketball, I have no idea about the NBA nor how it works but this is a nice simulator.

Overall 8 / 10: Large file sizes, awkward cameras but amazing visuals, physics and nice character creations.

This game is the best nba2k game I have ever played.
It offers a variety of different game modes and also shows alot of improvement compared to last years and especially the 2k13 version.

I personally had no problems at all with the servers and the game didn't crash once yet.
I sometimes had small graphic bugs, but updating my drivers fixed that.

For me personally it's the best sportgame this year.
