Uprising44: The Silent Shadows combines third-person action play with real-time strategy. It is a unique combination of the two modes of play, and has an in-depth and interesting story-line which has not yet been used in WWII computer games – the greatest civilian Uprising against Nazi occupying forces – the Warsaw Uprising. It is a story of the Silent Shadows - forerunners of modern day special forces - paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines to organize resistance and use diversionary tactics in the fight against the forces of the Third Reich. An appropriate audio-visual setting combined with cover system (an excellent, proven method of game play), the story-line, and diverse settings ensure a dynamic and enjoyable game not only for players familiar with this type of theme, but also those merely wanting casual entertainment.

Action Mode

Play through an over-the-shoulder perspective gives a sense of reality to small groups of soldiers fighting in the tight confines of a city. You venture through buildings, cellars, streets, ruins and underground canals and take part in seemingly real skirmishes. You have available to use 16 types of weapons, depending on the tactics you choose. You can take cover, give orders to comrades, fight at close quarters, or at a distance - to get advantage over a superior number of the enemy.

RTS Mode

You lead groups of uprisers that take part in heavy fighting on the streets of Warsaw. You as a leader will have to think strategically and improvise in quick changing situations of battle.

Key Game Features:

  • First independent computer game that is based on the Warsaw Uprising

After trying to spend couple of hours (When the game allowed me) in the game i was really hoping this game had anything to do with the Uprising at all.

But after some bugs, glitches, 1 crash, sound and music disappearing.

I just could't make it to work at the max.

The game itself needs more polish, testing and breaking til the max untill this game is fixed.

+ Info context about the weapons, decent tutorial tabs in the start of the game.
- The game feels unpolished, The (RTS) strategic level har some horrible controls and the ai both allies and enemies are dumbstruck. And it just lacks detail and immersion to get you to feel the real sense of that spesific conflict.

Trailer was interesting and such but if they had done most of the things that i just mention in this review. Then they could have done the game even better and maybe update graphics (if the program/company allows it) then this game could have been a nice edition to all so good edition but so far its unplayable and bearly rememberable that this game is not going to go so far.

DMD Enterprise work harder, patch this game and improve and make things with more vareiety then i can say the game its worth it.

But for now untill the lessons had been learn then no....dont buy this game.

There is nothing good about this game. ♥♥♥♥ AI, barley functioning shooting, an unfucintioning cover system, and lackluster graphics. In most cases, id like to say at least ONE good thing about this game, but I can't,
DONT BUY THIS ♥♥♥♥!
Who knows, maybe it gets better after chapter 2, but I cant get past that part, because it crashes too often

This would have been a decent game.

If it was released in the early 2000's.

The clunky gameplay, poor AI, shoddy graphics and bugs plethora make this game seem incredibly dated.

Why Devs? Why would you release a game this filled with bugs? I could get by the shoddy gameplay and the less than desirable cover system, but the bugs man, the bugs. It's crashed on me multiple times and sometimes the controls stick when you're forced to pause during the tutorial. Don't get me wrong, the idea is a really good one, I just wish they had put a little more effort into its excecution
